We hired the Fechtel Company to build our home on 2006. It was a big project and we can tell you that we were TOTALLY satisfied with the outcome. Thru out the building of our home Jay Fechtel was there providing advice and helping us to avoid costly mistakes. The best test of a project like this is time and we can honestly tell you that we have been totally satisfied with our home after these eight years and without a doubt if we ever build another house it will be with The Fechtel Company

We moved into our beautiful custom Fechtel home this past May. Jay and his tremendously talented team worked shoulder to shoulder with us as the original plans were adjusted, design challenges were resolved, and were instrumental in helping us make the right design choices to complete the look of our one of a kind Spanish Eclectic home. From our first meeting to the completion of the project Jay and his team made it clear to us that their goal was to successfully design and execute our vision of our dream home and support us along the way. We couldn’t be happier with the final product! Working with Jay’s dedicated , conscientious, and deeply committed team was a pleasure. It is important to mention that Jay hand picks his subcontractors as well in order to ensure that they share the same high standards of quality and perfection as the Fechtel team. Although it has been some time since we hired The Fechtel company to build our home we felt it important to give our review so that others might benefit from working with this extraordinary company. From the first meetings we had with Jay to flesh out our ideas and desires on the design of our custom 5000 + square foot home, to the culmination of the project, and truly up until the present day, we have only high praise for his work and that of everyone in the Fechtel Company. Jay Fechtel is a professional who brings a wealth of knowledge in classical architecture, current building trends and methods, and the ability to achieve the highest quality in construction for a reasonable value. His attention to even the smallest of details and his focus on craftsmanship informs and inspires all his subcontractors. Their pride in workmanship is evident throughout the process and in the final product. No human endeavor is without it's flaws and there will always be issues and challenges to overcome. Jay stands by his work and is there with solutions. We always felt his response to any problem was timely and fair. There is only one downside, and that is that we have been spoiled after having lived in a Fechtel home for so many years! No other dwelling quite compares to the beauty and quality of the finishes we have been blessed to enjoy every day.

Every aspect of my project was handled with great care. I had a project manager assigned to me who was available anytime I needed anything. Everything was explained to me so I understood what was happening. The Fechtel Company assisting in trying to cut back on costs by coming up with alternatives to original specifications. The experience was a very pleasant one and I would hire the Fechtel Copany again with no concerns whatsoever.

We selected The Fechtel Company after talking with many builders in the area. They built our dream home and did a terrific job. The entire process and final product was terrific.

Jay built our home 20 years ago. He did an excellent job with a professional staff. We are still living in or home and it has stayed the test of time. We constantly get compliments on the workmanship from guests and friends. We would build again with Jay without any hesitation.

Jay Fechtel and the staff at the Fechtel Company were extremely proficient and so pleasant to work with during the entire period of building our house. Although we were quite hesitant to build a home initially, finding a lot in the beautiful area of Stillwater and meeting Jay Fechtel put all our concerns to rest. He is truly a person of genuine talent, integrity, openness who was always there to listen to our needs while building our home and his team delivered fully on quality and design. The vendors we dealt with have been with the Fechtel company for a long time - we could see that they cherished that relationship which in turn was reflected by how well we were taken care of. All in all, we enjoyed the entire process which finished on time - a rare tribute for a builder and we are very happy with our home!

Jay Fechtel is the third architect to work on our new home design. We wondered why in previous attempts to convey our desires and needs it turned into a wrestling match. With the Fechtel company it has been an absolute pleasure. Jay has listened to our requests and interpreted them with insight and creativity along with a respect for our budget. Fechtel Construction was the contractor for what was one of the most stunning homes I have ever been inside. We provided the cabinets for the homeowner, but I was continually impressed with the quality of work that Fechtel consistently performed on this home. Kevin Fitzgerald was the site foreman and my point of contact. Kevin ran a very clean and organized job site, the Fechtel carpenters were craftsmen, and the outcome was a truly gorgeous home for our client. I would recommend Fechtel for anyone building a higher-end luxury home in the Tampa Bay area that wants to have a stunning home.

In June of 2011, our 86 year old home was flooded from the top down in a surprise storm. We chose the wrong day to get a new roof! For four hours the sky dumped water into our house. The plaster ceilings were falling before the rain even stopped. Jay Fechtel and his amazing team were hired to put our house back together. It is far better than it ever was before. Their wise counsel provided guidance to renovate and improve the house. It looks amazing inside and out and is so much more functional and efficient. We are very thankful for their expertise and comforted, despite the loss of many of our personal belongings in the flood, that our house was preserved as a home and investment with great returns. We have a great many pictures of the flood and building/addition process but the project will not be complete till the end of July. Will happily provide pictures upon completion.
