Cindy and Gilbert Lutes are a husband and wife team who have combined their skills to bring a level of service that supports so many important aspects of ‘living well’ in your home. They feel that your home is the foundation of well-being. We specialize in; - Home Staging - Interior Design services - Renovations from rough to finish Both Cindy and Gilbert are certified in their craft and provide friendly and professional service from start to finish. Together and Individually, whether you utilize their services combined or separately, they promise to deliver to the expectation of your design project! Cindy is a Professional Property Stylist with two Certifications in Home Staging from APSD – Association of Property Scene Designers. She has achieved APSD’s Home Stager and Home Stager Pro Certificates. As well, she has successfully completed a Diploma with The Interior Design Institute. Gilbert successfully completed and graduated with honours in the field of carpentry at Algonquin College. He has been working in the carpentry industry since 1995. Total Home are winners of Best of Trustedpros for eight consecutive years (2014 - 2022) in the categories of Bathroom Renovations, General Contracting, Home Staging and Customer Service. Cindy came to my condo and was a great help in helping me decide what to do. She came for two hours and worked hard the whole time. I really liked her because she is practical; she does not try and convince you to buy new peices. She works with what you have and helps place your furniture and art work so that it shows off well in the space you have. I also really liked that she did some interior design work at CHEO to help sick kids feel better while they are in the hospital. I was so pleased with her suggestions and I would highly recommend her.

We had several renovations we wanted to undertake in the house, and after the Covid period, we really needed a refresh! With no idea where to start or how to pull it all together in a cohesive way, we got in touch with Total Home. Cindy came up with a design, and worked with us step by step along the way. We redid the kitchen with new countertops and backsplash, cabinet painting and building in uppers, we installed hardwood floors upstairs and brought it all together with our existing hardwood on the main floor, we completely redid our primary bathroom and changed a few other things along the way. These projects also led to sourcing some new furniture for the renewed space, changing/updating our lighting, paint colours and more! Cindy understood our style (much better than we did!), and was conscious of budget. Throughout the project she also explained the thinking behind her ideas, and I feel I have learned a lot from the process. Of course with a project this size there were also a few frustrations and delays along the way, but Cindy dealt with them professionally and was very good about communicating and following up. Our project grew a lot from what we initially envisioned - Cindy had too many good ideas! It was a long haul, but we are so very happy with the outcome and feel proud and happy living in our renewed space.

Our original stager sustained an injury 2 weeks before our condo was to be listed. Thankfully we were referred to Cindy. She pulled out all the stops and was able to view our space, design a concept and stage our large two bedroom condo and 500 sq ft terrace in upscale Westboro. The result was a beautiful, cohesive, chic, comfortable-elegant look inside and out that showed our place in its very best light. Cindy’s attention to detail and accessories were way beyond my expectations. Thanks to Cindy and her professional team for not only helping us out of a jam but by doing it so smoothly and successfully.

I would highly recommend Cindy and Gilbert! They were a perfect combination in helping us by providing excellent interior design ideas and then completing the renovations in our home! Cindy was with us through every step of the planning phase of our new laundry room. She provided in-person visits with lots of great design options. She offered her expert opinion but also encouraged us to make the decisions. Everything came together perfectly, from the flooring to the lighting, the backsplash, and so much more! We could not have turned our laundry room into the beautiful and functional space it is without their help!

I wanted to send a note to say how pleased we are with Total Home's design work for the basement. All the furniture has now been delivered. I am really happy with the rug and amazed at how well it lays flat and secure to the ground. We love the bathroom counter and think it was a great choice to coordinate with the existing floor/bath tiles. All the little details - light fixtures, shelving, fireplace tiles really add to the room. The paint colour selections, including the fireplace, bookcase, cupboards and shelving give the space a modern, clean feel. I'm so glad we decided to proceed with the baseboard/trim upgrades as well. We couldn't be happier with John's detailed painting work and appreciate Gilbert helping us with extras like TV and speaker mounting. Aaron is thrilled with his new entertainment set-up! We are looking forward to working with Total Home for Phase 2 of our interior design plans!

There simply aren't enough good things to say about this team. We took on a major main floor reno on a new-to-us home that we knew would require remodeling at purchase. Cindy and Gilbert were on board and making plans with us before we had even closed on the house. Responsive, patient, professional, willing to work within our budget and roll with the hiccups (and there were many in our project). Mirrored for all the tradespeople Total Home works with. All of them were efficient, friendly, and most importantly produced high quality work. Truly a one-stop shop. After all the dust settled it looked and felt like a brand new home. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

I would highly recommend Total Home. I was starting to really dislike my condo, and I knew I had to do something since selling wasn't an option in this market. Cindy helped narrow down the style I was going for and chose wonderful additions to make my house feel like a home; from the much-needed changes in my kitchen (cabinet paint colour, backsplash, counter tops), to warm and welcoming wall colours and trim, to décor ideas that worked with the space, she helped with it all. She organized and scheduled all the required jobs, and she continuously checked in to make sure everything was running like a well-oiled machine. I really couldn’t have done it without her help, and I now love my space once more.

Working with Cindy from Total Home was so incredible. During the consultation, she provided room by room checklists on what we could do to prepare our home for sale. What I loved was that she provided the checklists based on highest priorities so we could choose where to allocate our funds based on our budget. She answered all of my questions and never rushed through the process. She was so meticulous, detailed and patient. Two things that were really invaluable are: 1. After the consultation, before our house was even on the market, someone wanted to come see our home. We only had a few days to get the house ready, and Cindy’s list that she gave us during the consultation was what we used. The house sold immediately and in a private sale. Having that checklist made the stress of the process minimal because we knew where we needed to put our focus and money to stage the home. 2. So much of the information she provided we now get to use in our new home to stage it in a way that makes it feel like a home that is designed to our tastes. She really knew how to bring out our emotional needs that we wanted our new house to feel like. She is truly an expert in her field with an eye for design. Laurie-ann

We were having a difficult time deciding on our colour scheme and tile choices for our kitchen renovation. I wanted everything to flow with the rest of the house as it is a bungalow and the kitchen is visible from every main room. I found Total Home online and had Cindy come in for a design consultation. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She really helped to narrow down our paint choices and gave great tips and suggestions for our flooring and backsplash options. I felt much more confident moving forward with our renovation after my appointment with her. I would not hesitate to use Total Home for any future projects

I would wholeheartedly recommend Cindy from Total Home. She is wonderful to work with, very professional, talented, friendly and I am still in awe with how beautifully she staged our home!
