Just sending a followup review after being in our Veranda Custom home for just over 18 months now. The work is still first class and the minor things that came up were so easily delt with. I read so many reviews on other builders and there was always these huge issues. Folks we've had zero.... Hopefully you find this input valuable when selecting your builder.

We rely on the industry's top design professionals to turn our products into stunning custom wine cellars. And Veranda is at the top of our charts in terms of how to uniquely design our metal wine racks into wine rooms, small to large. The thought on style, practicality, and timeless design is fantastic.

Building a new house is likely one of the biggest and most important financial events that most people will undertake in their lives. A little over 5 years ago my wife and I went down that path and purchased a house, for our three kids, and us, with grand plans of gutting it and substantially rebuilding the 1960’s vintage home. Trust me, you needed some real imagination with this place to get past the six different types of flooring, fading paint, crooked cabinets, pungent smell of incense, and general lack of upkeep. But the lot was great, and the neighbourhood a quiet hidden enclave of giant trees and humble folks, and so we were sold. After closing the deal we went about looking for a builder to help us with the project, and for most people, that’s likely the first time you’ve ever done that. Luckily we had some guidance from some friends about their process and what went well, and more often then not, what didn’t go so well. We asked lots of questions about costs, quality, timelines, and process. More often then not we got answers that included cost overruns, sub-par quality, and timelines that were never met. Armed with that knowledge we set about interviewing builders, designers, and contractors of all stripes, and the first thing you notice when you set down this path, is that there are huge differences in how people communicate their process, how they expect to get paid, how they control quality, and how they talk about their company values. So much so that it’s pretty hard to understand what it is you have to pay, and what you will get at the end of the day. That is, until we sat down with Melissa and Rob from Veranda Estates Homes. The first thing we noticed when we met them was an air of confidence and a foundation of honesty, and we appreciated that immensely. You quickly find out that Rob started on the tools at his father’s company years ago, and worked his way into running the place by learning everything first hand. He had such a calmness and a professionalism about him during our whole process that you might think there is nothing that he hasn’t seen. That feels good when you are about to spend a pile of money on a big project. Melissa on the other hand is the perfect “yin” to Rob’s “yang”. She is wonderfully focused and almost militant on her attention to detail, and there is a passion with which she approaches her craft that I really admire. She cares intensely about every paint stroke, about symmetry, and about making sure things are done right. Everybody should want someone like her on their team on a project of this scale. To be clear, I have purposely waited over two years to write this review. Our project was built on time, on budget, and was exactly the same high end quality that we had seen in every one of the projects they completed and toured us through before we broke ground. Since they gave us the keys we have had basically no problems, and of the small things we needed rejigged, they responded instantly. In the two years since we have moved in, we have continued to keep in touch with Rob and Melissa, not because they built our house, but because they became real friends of ours during the process. We still go for dinner, and we try to keep up with what is going on in each other’s lives. I will and have referred them to anybody that asks, and I openly gush about our experience with their company to anyone that cares about my opinion. Building your dream home is daunting to say the least, and in an industry full of horror stories, Veranda Estate Homes is an absolute dream for a homeowner. Melissa and Rob made the process easy and straightforward, they work with only the best contractors, and if there was ever a concern or issue they dealt with it swiftly and fairly. You can tell their clients and the homes they build are not simply a project to complete. They value their relationship to the client and work closely with them to provide homes with meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship. I have referred friends and family to them and would absolutely work with them again with no hesitation.

These guys are amazing to work with, the attention to detail is outstanding. They take great pride in every project that they complete and as a supplier they are wonderful to work with. Many years in the construction and Design industry they make our jobs easy, always getting us everything we need in order to complete the job. Can't wait to one day be able to build with them.

We decided to build our new custom home with Veranda Estate Homes largely in part to Melissa's previous work and the company's flawless reputation. Rob and Melissa made a seemingly overwhelming process very simple and easy to work through. They are truly experts of their trades. The end result was far superior to what even they had promised and more importantly what we expected. It is our dream home and we could not have done it without them. Their expertise is second to nobody and we would not hesitate to refer them to anyone who asks.

After looking at houses to buy in the inner city of Calgary and being disappointed with both the integrirty of design and the quality of finishes, coming across Veranda Estate Homes felt like finding a needle in the haystack. Veranda Estate Homes combines the expertise of a seasoned calgary builder with the vision of an extremely talented interior designer who listened to us and translated our wish list into a stunning yet functional home design. The process, instead of being fraught with anxiety, was actually fun and educational. Cannot recommend Veranda highly enough.

Working with Melissa was a wonderful experience...one need only look at a few pictures of her past work to see how insanely talented she is. But in addition to her impeccable style and taste, what makes Melissa so successful is that she is so personable, professional, and easy to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend Melissa for projects big and small, and I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with her!

Melissa is wonderful to work with. She produces beautiful work and is willing to do whatever is needed to help you design the space of your dreams. After working with her, I consider her not only a stellar designer, but also a long distance friend. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with her again soon.

We have been very pleased with working with Veranda Interiors. Great ideas and design style. I can't wait until we start working on the rest of our home renovation. We used them as design consultants to our remodel and were very pleased. They helped us bring the project in on budget!
