Victory Homes of Wisconsin, Inc

We built a home in 2022-2023 with Victory, and we are still dealing with issues. Victory and its employees were incompetent and dishonest. We are still dealing with warranty issues, and Victory has chosen to disregard us and has failed to honor legitimate warranty claims. Specifically, these are just some of the issues that we had with Victory: 1. We had to audit our bills from Victory because they were consistently making mistakes that were always in its favor. For example, we were charged $1,400 for a non-existent city culvert expense. Only after we asked for proof of payment did Victory reverse the charge and admit that no culvert expense had been assessed or paid. Other billing errors that we discovered amounted to thousands of dollars (always to our detriment). 2. When we noticed the hardwood floors cracking and creaking, our project manager pulled up part of the floors and told us that the adhesive had failed. As a solution, Victory “top-nailed” over 100 nails through the top of our floors into the subfloor and then filled the nail holes. Even this did not address the issue in all areas. We have an outstanding warranty claim on this item, and Victory is refusing to have a qualified professional assess the issue. 3. The people that we dealt with at Victory were unprofessional and argumentative. The lady who consistently screwed up our billings told me that we were just one of hundreds of projects she was working on. Our project managers were consistently rude and dishonest. After telling me point blank that the adhesive had failed, he later denied it. We were told that Victory could never meet our standards and that “no house is perfect” (not what we wanted to hear from a purportedly custom home builder). 4. Our design called for full stone below our front porch. Rather than using the correct material, Victory (without telling us) used a stone veneer. They told us that they had messed up on the foundation, and so full stone would not work. We had to settle for this, and then Victory told us that there was no cost difference between full stone and veneer (probably false) so we would not get any kind of credit. 5. We had so many issues and many of them were issues that we had to identify and convince Victory that they needed to be addressed. In one room upstairs, their unlicensed architect placed a window that looked into a roofline and had to be eliminated. The floor was literally unlevel causing the stairs to slant noticeably one direction. They had to jack up a wall from the basement. Windows were the wrong size and needed to be replaced (but only after many arguments and pleas to convince Victory that they were flat out wrong). Our experience with Victory and the people that work at Victory was not a good one. It was difficult, combative, and we had to fight to get things done right (and at times, we lost the fight). We would not recommend building a home with Victory, and we certainly would never do it again.

Very disappointed in the quality of build and communication. Since our house was completed last July we have had many issues come up. Among them all, there are 3 specific examples that stick out to me. 1. During the planning, we were not set on if we wanted shiplap over our fireplace. The gal at the office mentioned she would note that we can decide at time of construction. This was never discussed. And we just had to deal with it(eat the cost) 2. During our final walk through, we pointed out the large air gap in our front door. The PM “explained that this is normal” and “all houses have that”. Flash forward to the winter and we had pure air coming right through our front door. We had to seek out 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinions to get them to come out at look at it. (Which is finally got fixed) 3. A few weeks ago go out Washer drain overflowed. Come to find out that the area was not properly insulated and it froze. It took us weeks to get a response and all they kept saying is that they are busy in the field. And when they finally responded all they said was sorry this was missed… What!? What else wasn’t done up to expectations? This is a large purchase for the quality expectations to not be met. And on top of that the customer service is terrible. We have gone 3-4 weeks without a response on things.

Victory Homes built us a beautiful home, but just don’t look too close. We’ve been in it for two years and there are areas where I cringe as I walk by the slanted walls that are uneven at the floor. The general contractor was overseeing too many builds and the communication was poor. There were multiple issues that came up during the build due to things being done incorrectly. We had no idea when the house would be done. At the time of move in it felt like we had to force them to improve areas of woodwork. We’d leave tape at areas of poor quality finished carpentry and they’d be removed without having been fixed. We have a friend who does finish carpentry for homes and he was not impressed with their work. Overall I love the floor plan, but I hope to never build again, partly because of our experience building this house.

I only have great things to say about Victory Homes of Wisconsin we built with them 14 years ago and are doing it again. There sales team is very knowledgeable and everything in the company helps you from start to finish with your dream home. The quality of there homes is way above many builders.

When we visited our first Victory home it stood out among the other builders’ models. We had been shopping around and compared five other builders, but we were “wowed” with Victory after our very first meeting. After meeting with our sales rep and the designer, we were impressed with their attention to detail and their patience in answering all of our questions. They really put our minds at ease about the building process. We loved that they could customize any of their beautiful floor-plans to our liking, and we took full advantage of this. We personalized the entire second floor of our home to suit our family’s needs, and made some other changes throughout the plan. Every request we had was met with a “yes, we can do that” attitude. Their professionalism and quality went far above our expectations, and their friendly staff was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. When it came to the actual build, our job manager did not disappoint! He was professional, responsive, and took time to explain each process and subcontractor schedule. His management skills and attention to detail gave us peace of mind. We had the opportunity to meet several of the subcontractors during our build. Each one treated us like their most important customer and many of them told us that we had made a great choice in Victory – we can’t think of a better endorsement than that. It was obvious that each tradesman took great pride in their work, and that really shows in our home. Building with Victory was an AMAZING journey! We absolutely love our home and couldn’t imagine building with anyone else. Going through the entire building process, from design to final walk-through, was a pleasant experience that we would repeat in a heartbeat if we were to build again. The personal service and attention we received throughout the process was genuine and incomparable. We are so proud to say we have a Victory home, and will continue, without hesitation, to praise and recommend Victory Homes of Wisconsin! Every single person on their team was wonderful. Thank you Victory Homes for building our DREAM HOME!!! We are so excited to have a warm, inviting, and beautiful home to raise our family in the years to come!

The Victory Companies focus on build quality and uncompromising expectations for the best end result is one of the many reasons we enjoy working with them. As a technology company it is excellent to see a builder who installs a proper number of video and data lines so when the home is ready for move in and the end customer schedules internet and TV they have everything in place. This may seem small, but this is a detail many other home builders overlook. That is the attention to detail you can expect from Victory, not only does the home look great but the experience remains exceptional even after move in as you live with your new home.

I'm going to borrow from a letter I wrote directly to Victory shortly after we moved into our new home, because it touches on everything I'd tell anyone asking about our builder..... We stumbled upon Victory during the Parade of Homes, when we were hedging on whether or not to build. Falling in love with one of the model homes was our biggest driver in beginning the conversation at the time, was Victory's Sales team. We liked him, liked his communication, and knew that if we were going to build, we'd probably go with Victory. Simply based on those interactions. We're SO GLAD we did. No doubts. No regrets. I can sum up the best forms of Victories Customer Service practices with two words: Follow-through. Transparency. Two values we felt Victory embodied, largely in part to it's job managers and office staff; their entire team was responsive and communicative. I don't recall ever becoming impatient waiting for a reply--everything was timely and easy to understand--and if we didn't understand it, we asked. Our questions were always answered. We're so excited to be in our house. In all honestly, we're disappointed the process is over, and would do it again in a heartbeat. In fact, when we had those keys in our hands, my husband and I might have looked at each other and said, "How soon is too soon do this again?" It was that fun. It was everything building was supposed to be. Granted, we were incredibly laid back. We TRUSTED our job manager and let him do his job; he did it wonderfully. My husband and I both do a lot of traveling for work and relied on the team to be our eyes and ears; the vendors and contractors working on our project took pride in their work. From the floorpan, to the details, to the custom changes--the house I had in my mind is exactly the house I moved into . For our family, Victory couldn't have been a more perfect fit.

We built with Victory in 2005-2006. They build a beautiful home, as long as you don't look too closely. In our case, the rough carpentry was terrible, of course as lay people, we did not realize this until the home was finished. Finished carpentry was ok, but we had some issues there too. We then wrote a letter expressing our concern about walls that weren't straight, and very expensive interior doors that had been cut too short. They came to do a walk through and dismissed all of our concerns as "normal". Later, we realized the interior doors weren't cut too short, the openings were, however, and inch or so too tall. When you look closely, there are many mistakes and they almost all come back to rough carpentry. Now fast forward 11 years. We are in the middle of a renovation project only to find out one of the areas (a corner in the living room) where we are having a custom cabinet built is not plum. And it gets worse the higher up you go. Off a little at the bottom...off a lot at the top!!! The cabinet is 108" high, so the cabinet maker has quite a bit of adjusting to do, based on poor craftsmanship. I could give additional examples, but I won't. Victory Homes of WI builds a pretty house, but not a high quality house. If you want quality craftsmanship, I recommend you keep looking.

I've had the pleasure of working with the Victory team for 5+ years now. They build an extremely beautiful home and cut zero corners while doing so. Some builders may include more entry level standard inclusions, but not Victory. Their standard included specifications are of high quality and a great price point for the homeowner to be able to substitute to other desired products within a comparable range. I look forward to working alongside the rest of the Victory team for many more years to come!

For several years we contemplated buying an existing home or building a custom home. We visited many model homes in search of design ideas, quality construction, and value pricing. We toured lots of existing homes searching for the perfect plan. And one day we found what we were searching for. It was an existing home on a beautiful piece of land. But, as you already know, the story doesn’t end there. There was another bidder on the house, and we did not get it. We were devastated. Our search came to an abrupt stop. Then one day, a business associate told us about a neighborhood in our desired area that had beautiful lots set on a nature preserve. We quickly purchased a lot and began our quest to build a home that was even better than the one we lost. During our earlier research, we toured several model homes built by Victory Homes of Wisconsin, and were impressed each time with the quality of materials used in construction, the appearance, and unique features that we saw. At this point we decided to meet with the Victory team to discuss plans we had for possible construction of a new home. Upon first meeting Dave Pluim (co-owner and home designer), we found him willing to listen to our needs as well as offering suggestions we might consider in the building process. We were certain at this point that we had made the right decision in selecting a builder. We brought in dozens of ideas that we collected from things we saw at their models and other existing homes we toured. After listening, Dave created a plan that not only incorporated those ideas, but he also made suggestions that we hadn’t even thought of. He created a plan that is very unique, and is truly a reflection of our family. Victory's team of subcontractors were both professional and enjoyable to work with in the construction of our new home. Our job manager was frequently found on the job site checking the progress and the quality of the workmanship. (We know, because we were there too.) We found working with Victory Homes of Wisconsin, Inc. a rewarding and satisfying experience, and we love this home even more than the one we thought we wanted—proof that everything happens for a reason. We would not hesitate to recommend Victory to our friends and family.
