Kyle and Christine DenOuden founded Hickory Homes in 2007. Kyle, a civil engineering technologist, and Christine, a certified interior designer, make up the core of Hickory Homes. A full-service design-build company, we specialize in residential buildings. With the recognized Building Code Identification Number (BCIN), we are qualified to design homes – which means we can take your project from an idea, sketch or hazy concept, and create the home that will be completely yours, inside and out. We love working on all types of projects and budgets. Our portfolio includes everything from small projects to large-budget homes: Standard Design Homes: These are smaller, simple homes designed with the standard building practice in mind. Designer details and quality materials are used in every step of the process. Upgraded Homes: These homes include the base standard Ontario building practice with a selection of client-selected upgrades, such as in-floor heating, geothermal electricity, green building practices and more, as well as medium-finish levels and designer details. Specialty Homes: These are fully custom homes made with high finish levels – you are the master of your own home design. Specialized materials and custom design elements are sourced for these projects. Regardless of which type of home you need, Hickory Homes has a “No Surprises” rule. The contract price is what you pay*. We will always keep you apprised of your home’s progress, notify you of any changes to the schedule and check in with you to ensure that you love your new home. Communication and transparency are two of the cornerstones of our company. For every home built by Hickory Homes, we donate 40 trees on behalf of our home buyers – to offset the resources used in the construction process.
