“Our relationship with Cahill Design Build dates back over 20 years with Mr. Cahill's original company Botanical Decorators, Inc.. Based on the excellent exterior work performed by that company through the years with two different properties,, when we decided to undertake significant interior renovations in the home we purchased a few years ago, Cahill Design Build was the logical choice. Cahill Design Build has lived up to every expectation we had and then some! Mr. Cahill, along with his lead Interior Designer, Kerry Ann Rodriguez worked with us to design and build our dream kitchen in early 2015. Later that year, as a result of their quality service and craftsmanship, they completed a small spa-type bathroom in our basement gym area that includes a steam shower and custom fit sauna. We are currently working with them on a design to renovate our master and guest bathrooms, and walk in closet. Their in-house custom cabinetry manufacturing is of the highest quality; this ability to customize as requested makes the renovations very personal and allows so many choices when deciding which options are most important to the homeowner. The renovations for both projects were completed on budget and on time, and any adjustments to the original design that resulted because we wanted to make changes were discussed so the change orders were very accurate from a cost perspective. We have found their direct hire work crews to be skilled and trustworthy. With regards to customer interaction, both Mr Cahill and Ms. Rodriquez are the real deal when it comes to their professional skill levels, their creativity, and their ability to really listen to what the homeowner desires. They then turn those ideas into a breathtaking (and we do not use that term lightly) design, that in turn become spectacular room(s). Their attention to detail in their designs - whether it be color schemes, material choices, room functionality, quality appliances, or decor suggestions- is most impressive. Ms Rodriquez, who, as the Interior Designer is the person we most often interact with, is very impressive and very approachable. She is easy to converse with, and is conscientious in overseeing all aspects of the design, product ordering and actual construction. She and Mr Cahill help the homeowners look at multiple possibilities when designing a room and offer excellent suggestions. Also, it is obvious when seeing Ms. Rodriquez, Mr, Cahill and the foreman we have come to depend on, interact regularly on our projects , that they respect one another and enjoy working together, thus forming a well-functioning team who provides excellent service to the homeowner. The subcontractors and suppliers they use for specialized portions of the projects are also well vetted and are selected only because they are highly skilled and provide only the highest quality finished product. Many have had long relationships with Cahill Design. We always appreciate how responsive Mr Cahill and especially Ms Rodriquez are to our queries, questions and/ or concerns at every stage of the overall design/renovation process. The service is very personalized, and they often go above and beyond for their customers. We have both referred Cahill Designs to others, and have willingly provided references when contacted by other potential customers. An added bonus in hiring Cahill Design Build is that through their second company, Botanical Decorators, Inc., the exterior of the property can be designed/developed as beautifully as the interior of the property, with all the above mentioned excellent professional design and project management capabilities.”

“Hakan was the project manager for our renovation. Each detail was explained thoroughly. I interviewed several home improvement companies in the northern Virginia area; none matched the knowledge of product information and costs of construction for completely renovating my kitchen. Architectural renditions were exact to specifications;no last-minute changes had to be made. Prior to the beginning of the renovation, costs and date of completion was discussed along with a time line dedicated to the selection of cabinets, floor, tiles, lighting fixtures etc. The crew assigned to my project were courteous, quick, clean and put materials away each day. “The proof, as the Brits say, is in the pudding. As we sit in our new solarium, or entertain friends in our redesigned and expanded kitchen and dining room, we are very, very pleased with the finished product. Foxcraft was with us from the early idea stage through the final point on the punch-list. The team, led by Mike Blood, was responsive, imaginative and expert. It may have taken a little longer and cost a few bucks more, but in the end we got exactly what we had hoped for, a well-designed, beautiful, and highly functional new space. We love it. Beginning in March 2018, based on a design conceived by us, with the expert and thoughtful guidance of Jim Lynch and Foxcraft's experts, we doubled the size our small dining area, opened up our 1950's galley kitchen, and added an all-season solarium to the back of the house. The work crews were all great from digging the foundation and laying the slab, to framing and roofing, to the HVAC and electrical, and most especially the counters, cabinetry and the finish work. Paolo, the head carpenter and on-site supervisor, was very skilled in every aspect of the job as well as being a superb carpenter. Highest praise to Elmer the electrician and Mario the painter. The masons were also excellent. Whenever a problem arose, Mike informed us immediately, or responded quickly to our concerns, and he dealt with them. When the new split-system air conditioner leaked, Mike called the HVAC team who quickly found the problem, removed all piping, and rerouted the drainage. When the outdoor guttering was not quite what we wanted, the team re-did it without question. Jim took us shopping for doors, windows, countertops, and cabinets, and patiently explained the qualities of everything so we could make informed decisions. There were delays of course. Last year's record rains halted some of the early foundation and framing work, and some problems with ordering specialty countertops delayed the final installation of cabinets. Inevitable, for sure. We broke the budget, but that was our decision to make changes and additions as the project progressed. It was finished in August, and we have thoroughly enjoying our new expanded home ever since. We heartily and without hesitation recommend Foxcraft.”

“We have used Winn Design on two different occasions. The first, in 2007, was a project to replace the exterior doors, windows, and siding of our 1969 ranch house. As part of the project, we added a natural wood portico to the front entrance. More than 5 years later we still have people stop to take pictures and ask us who has done the construction. In 2010 we contracted again with Winn to extend and completely remodel our kitchen. As this was our first experience with a project of this size, the design process was very daunting. However, Winn patiently worked with us over a few months through many revisions until we had a design that fit our needs and budget. During construction we went on vacation and the project manager sent us pictures and summaries on almost a daily basis so that we could keep up with the progress of the project. As the different trades came to the project we were impressed by the quality of the subcontractors Winn used. Several trades mentioned that Winn was one of their favorite companies to work with. Happy and skilled subcontractors are also key to a successful project! Renovations can be very intimidating and stressful on a marriage. We are very grateful that Winn, through their professionalism and quality of work, made the process as pleasant and successful as we might have hoped for. Now, with more than 2 years behind us, we know that we made the right choice to use them. There are many contractor horror stories out there, but you won’t have one with Winn.”

“Architect Ken Marzullo created a design for the total renovation of our house from the foundation up. He personally oversaw most of the construction to ensure an exceptional level of quality work. The renovation was completed in a timely manner while even meeting our requests for change orders. Ken listened well and was very creative in interpreting what we wanted. Additionally, while we felt that our input was very welcomed, we really appreciated Ken’s recommendations and explanations regarding several aspects of the design from practical and functional perspectives that we had not considered, rather than simply doing what we asked. As construction progressed, Ken seemed to view our project with the same level of thoughtfulness and care that he would in his own home in terms of identifying enhancements and making adjustments as the project progressed. In essence, Ken not only did what he said he was going to do, but even more. With respect to the sub-contractors, there was exceptional coordination of the work of numerous tradesmen resulting in very minimal down time. Quality control during the course of construction was excellent; for example, 90% of the items that we noted for attention were addressed before we even mentioned them. The finished project exceeded our expectations; we would highly recommend Ken Marzullo as an architect for anyone considering a renovation or a design for a new home”
