Northland Design & Build
Design-Build Firms in Salem, OR
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeptember 5, 2015
Northalnd Design and Build made our home remodel a great experience. Gina, the designer, quickly grasped our vision and directed our search, making it fun and productive. She showed excellent ability to take our vision and turn it into something even better. She was very receptive to our ideas and "monkey wrenches." We had just the right amount of control over decisions to not be overwhelmed and to have an end result that was truly ours. Rod, the contractor, took everything we threw at him and made it work. They finished on time, to the day. There were no surprises along the way. Any issues that we identified were dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction. The workmanship is top notch. The subs were professional and did an excellent quality of work. Our herringbone back splash is the "star" that everyone compliments. The whole team at Northland Design and Build is fantastic and we could not have asked for a better, more trustworthy group to remodel our home.

Dale's remodeled our master bathroom. They did an excellent job; staff was courteous, on time and cleaned up every day. We can't say enough about their work. Dale's took photos for the bathroom before and after the project and I have photos for all of the weekly progress.

Design and execution of remodel that opened kitchen and separate dining room into large open kitchen/dining area. At design level worked well with owners to develop plan. Very knowledgeable regarding materials, as well as up to challenges presented by some aspects of original design, such as ceiling heat that constrained lighting choices. Design team covered range of expertise necessary for the job. Excellent management of the building phase. Workers well coordinated to keep job moving forward. Adhered closely to time line and budget.
Mosaik Design & Remodeling
Design-Build Firms in Salem, OR
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsAugust 1, 2012
We originally hired Mosaik Design to do some simple updating of cabinets and lighting in our kitchen. During the demolition of the cabinets a piece of flawed granite was discovered and we decided to proceed with a totally new kitchen design which enhanced and changed our main living area. From the creative design of the new floor plan to the finished project, the Mosaik team was professional and easy to work with. They stayed on schedule and used top notch subcontractors. We are extremely happy with the work they did for us and highly recommend them.
Roloff Construction, Inc

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 11, 2012
Our job was a complete remodel of our kitchen which included moving a wall and completely gutting the flooring in the kitchen, entry, laundry and second bathroom. We had a heated tile floor, custom designed cabinetry, recessed ceiling lights, appliances, windows and countertops installed. Nathalie Pillsbury listened to our "wants", made recommendations, met us for many product decisions, addressed our concerns and inevitable changes and was genuinely involved in our project. Mike Roloff hired excellent subcontractors, so that the finished product is outstanding. (Of particular note was the amazing "granite guy", Michael Ambrose, of De La Tierra Stoneworks). This company obtained the necessary permits and held to an agreed upon written timeline. All in all, a very satisfying, albeit disruptive as any remodeling/construction project is, experience. Kudos!

Kirk Design and Construction

Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsAugust 26, 2016
Kirk Design and Construction took our original two small bathrooms (which together formed an L-shape) and our horizontally-oriented bedroom closet (enclosed by that L) down to nearly nothing. Into the existing rectangular footprint, they designed and built a flexible bathroom suite and a beautiful walk-in closet. Emma's layout design radically improves the traffic flow of the house and the use of space--not to mention its beauty. Construction is solid and very high quality. Joel (and employed carpenters) considered all eventual points of weight and stress and framed in support accordingly. Joel had mapped out an eight-week construction timeline, and the project proceeded on schedule. There were no surprise expenses. The atmosphere onsite was always friendly, approachable, and professional. I feel that's it noteworthy that for two Willamette Valley winter months, we used a portajohn out front and showered at the gym--and even considering that, I enjoyed having the crew at the house. I always felt safe, respected, and at ease with them here. I did not take pictures mid-construction on this project. Wide-angle professional photographs of the completed project are on Kirk's website under "Bathroom Squared." I include here "before" and "after" layouts to demonstrate Emma's creative and smart use of space. I also include a couple of snapshots: one of the awesome walk-in closet--notice the nook in the lower right--and one of the powder-room loo attached to the half-wall opposite the closet's nook. The powder room picture also shows two of the three space-efficient pocket doors--the middle one locking from either side.

Giving Linda Evans five stars does not seem adequate to express our complete joy and satisfaction that we experienced during our six month remodel. Our fabulous kitchen and main level powder room took first place in the 2010 Oregon Home Remodelers Association competition. We loved the entire process from the endless mini shopping trips with Linda, to seeing how she kept everyone accountable for doing their very best work, to the smallest of details we never realized! Linda's knowledge and experience shone through as we worked with the numerous vendors in Portland. We saw their level of respect for her everywhere we went that summer. Linda is the real deal, putting her heart and soul into making our home the lovely place that it is! If you are wondering what our remodel looks like up close, just ask Linda. She will arrange for you to stop by for a quick personal showing, as we are that confident in who she is and what she can offer you! Linda Evans Design is a 10 in our eyes!
