“I’ve done an entire renovation with another contractor, and by far I’d recommend using Eric Cantu over and over. Things that stuck out to me that made it worth the price tag: -a project manager never changes on you and he checks in on your project daily -the crew that is at your house is consistent, clean, and not creepy (as a woman who works from home alone I sincerely appreciated this!) -budgeted costs include price of materials. Every line item is budgeted and is realistic -expertise of the subcontractors they use are top notch and readily available; no time delays (we were only without water for one afternoon when they installed the tankless water heater!) -any extras they purchased they will return for you and give you a credit back on your contract -I always knew if we were asking for something over the budget, and we were NEVER pressured one way or the other; we were given information and pros/cons Get this: we finished on budget (plus the overages I knew about) AND on time! Seriously, I’ve never heard of this before. If you have the chance to work with Eric and his team, don’t second guess. Also, he knows the Lakewood/Lake Highlands/Preston Hollow area SO WELL (I got his name from our realtor Beth Rider). Phenomenal work and will gladly use him again if and when we decide to build a second story (we used him for a laundry, bedroom, and bathroom renovation).”

“This review might be longer than most, but I believe a brief account wouldn't capture the entirety of our journey with Chris and USI. After meeting with several firms, it was clear that they're not all on the same level. Chris from USI stood out. His grasp on luxury remodels shone during our interactions. He even showed us a home he'd renovated just two miles away, witnessing the impeccable work and speaking to the satisfied homeowners sealed the deal. Despite COVID-19's disruptions, Chris ensured our renovation kept its pace, navigating the supply chain challenges. With our busy schedules, the idea of overseeing multiple contractors was overwhelming. That's why we chose USI. Chris acted as a guide, understanding our needs, sometimes even before we articulated them. One memorable instance was his choice of marble for our kitchen. The piece, reminiscent of seafoam waves, seemed plucked right from my dream home. I often chuckle when watching cooking shows, genuinely feeling my new kitchen outshines many of theirs. Our initial kitchen was far from ideal: depressing colors, an awkward layout, and deficient storage. But with Chris and his team, its issues became design opportunities. The once-troublesome wall now flaunts our wine column flanked by the paneled column fridge and freezer. Family cookouts have turned into delightful experiences, with our new layout accommodating everyone. Our pool bath, once gloomy and unwelcoming, has been transformed into a luminous sanctuary. The transformation wasn't restricted to these areas. Our living space, dining area, laundry, and staircase also got a makeover. The Craftsman-themed staircase is a highlight, tying all spaces together seamlessly. Kudos to Hugo, a member of Chris's team. His craftsmanship aligns with Chris's dedication to excellence. It's evident Chris works with only the best. Aesthetically, we desired a twist on the classic Craftsman. With Chris's insights, we've blended cool blues, greens, whites, and greys to craft a home that feels undeniably “us” yet retains a timeless charm.”
