“After meeting with several companies for our Schaumburg kitchen remodeling project, we decided to move forward with 4EVER Remodeling because their process felt more structured and realistic from the beginning including their design and remodel process. During the design phase, they explained the layout changes, cabinet configuration, electrical updates, plumbing work, material options, and overall timeline in much more detail than other contractors we interviewed. Our project was a full gut remodel that included demolition, new electrical, plumbing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, painting, and finish work. Martin the carpenter paid close attention to the installation details throughout the project. Peter handled the plumbing work professionally, and Conrad completed all electrical work. One thing we found very helpful was the Buildertrend app, which simplified scheduling, product ordering, daily communication, invoicing, and progress tracking. The final walkthrough was thorough, and the team addressed all remaining list items before completion. The total project timeline was around 8 weeks, and overall we are very happy with the final result.”

“We used Chi Renovation & Design for our basement remodel (after a pretty bad flood), and am thrilled with how things came out. After we worked through the design aspects, it was time to get started on the build. When it comes down to it, the most important piece from my experience is working with a general contractor that cares, takes ownership of the project, and is fast to rectify issues that inevitably arise when renovating. I can safely say that Ron, who was the GC that managed our project embodied all of those qualities. I never had to prove to Ron why we may have needed something changed, fixed, or reworked; not only was he often already aware of it, he always took responsibility and got it done. He was always fair. Beyond that ownership, the subcontractors that work with Chi Reno & Design were excellent, especially the drywall and painter folks. Honestly, by far the best paint work that has been done on our house. To that end, the value of the work done was well worth the (reasonable) price. I am thrilled with how it came out, and my kids love playing down there everyday!”

“We are very pleased with our new kitchen. This was our first major renovation, so we were of course concerned about cost and time--and not knowing really what questions to ask. DesignFirst was a great partner throughout the project. Their designers came up with a thoughtful design, but were also happy to tweak things that we wanted to change. The customer portal was very convenient and allowed us to review all the choices we had made, payment milestones and records, and progress photos. They have a good selection of styles and materials, but were happy to let us source some of the items and install them. We had specific tiles and drawer pulls in mind. The project manager was always very responsive to any questions as the project went on. We were a bit unlucky in our timing as the Covid lockdown hit our project right after we gutted the kitchen, somewhat surprisingly our timeline was not really impacted, though it was obvious that the company and contractors were having to jump through extra hoops to get things done on time. One thing that was key to our project was the relationship that the company and its lead contractors have with the city inspectors. Their contractors were obviously known for working to code and making any changes the inspectors asked for correctly. Our inspections went smoothly, and this is one of those areas where "you get what you pay for." I think we paid a fair price and got great work in return.”
