Mom's Design Build

“We had Mom's design and build our backyard retreat, complete with a complete outdoor kitchen and bar with pizza oven, pergola, fireplace, gas fire pit, putting green, chipping spot with landing green, and landscaping. Mom's also redid our 3 season porch and built a staircase to get down to the backyard from the main floor of our house. They did a great job and the pictures speak for themselves. We started the project back in the summer of 2016 and then did it in three main phases, starting with the fireplace and then going from there. The pergola came last since at first I didn't think I wanted one, but I later discovered that it was vital to deal with the heat and rain, which can otherwise dampen a party. I highly recommend Mom's for their artistic capabilities and for their follow-on commitment. We've had a few minor issues since completing the work and Mom's has been superb in making sure that everything is the way it should be. You generally don't find contractors who are so willing to make things right, but at least for us Mom's excelled in that area.”

“We hired TreHus to remodel two bathrooms and two closet areas and we are extremely pleased with the result. Our concerns with hiring a contractor were: Our old bathrooms and closets really didn’t suit us in terms of how we wanted to use the space (the shower was too small, no shower in the master bath, etc.) so we really needed someone who give use what we needed without increasing the footprint of our house. We wanted someone who could keep to a schedule. We had to use our basement bathroom during construction, which was really inconvenient, so we didn’t want have unnecessary delays due to poor planning. We wanted high quality workmanship and finishes. We wanted someone who could guarantee their work and not leave us high and dry with unresolved issues.. We had never done a major remodeling project before so we really needed design help making all the decisions about plumbing fixtures, tile, paint, etc. We wanted the new bathrooms to be attractive, of course, but we also wanted everything to be functional and durable. I have to say TreHus exceeded my exceptions on all of the issues above. In the area that was remodeled, everything was taken down to the studs except for the plumbing stack and the new floor plan is brilliant. We have everything we wanted (including a huge new shower) and nothing feels cramped although we only expanded the space a little by taking a foot or so off the master bedroom. Trehus was able to give a detailed project schedule before we started, showing when each sub was supposed to arrive. Although there were some delays beyond TreHus’s control, such as when the carpet manufacturer shipped the wrong carpet, Trehus has such good relationships with their subcontractors that they were able to get back on track quickly. All of the workmanship was high quality—TreHus has carpenters on staff and uses very professional subcontractors. At the end of the project, they made a punch list of all of the details that needed to be fixed, and methodically worked through it until everything was perfect . We are really pleased with how attractive our new bathrooms are, and it’s a joy to use them—like going to a spa! So, in conclusion, we feel very lucky to have been able to have TreHus do our project, and would definitely use them again.”
Conservatory Craftsmen

“Conservatory Craftsmen solved our disastrously leaky greenhouse problem. The attached greenhouse that came with our home had been reworked and repaired numerous times by highly respected local contractors but to no avail. The greenhouse leaked when it rained (an understatement, we're talking huge puddles of water on the floor and the look of a hose sprayed all over the room) and ice falling from the roof above in winter had cracked the outer layer of ceiling glass twice. Thinking we were going to have to turn the greenhouse into a sunroom with a "real" roof, a solution which would have made our living room too dark and left our plants without enough sunlight, we came across Jim's company right here on Houzz. With stellar recommendations, and nothing to lose, we contacted Jim. From that first call, Jim knew exactly what needed to be done and we knew we were finally in the right hands with a professional who knew his product and who was willing to work with our time frame request. We now have a beautiful, fully automated greenhouse that architecturally fits in just right with our antique home, and in which we do some serious plant propagation and growing, never mind gazing at the moon and stars in the deep night. Jim and his extremely hardworking and knowledgeable team have our deepest appreciation and gratitude.”
