Took almost 6 months to receive the doors. Communication is terrible. Doors arrived with splits in the panels, a screw had penetrated the face and then tried to fill and cover the mistake. All doors were out of square and pretty rough to the touch. Tried to contact the factory with all phone calls and emails ignored. Terrible service and not recommended.

Purchased a Mahogany door slab for my primary bathroom project. I asked for door to not be stained or sealed so I could add my own finishes and sealants to the door. The anticipated time to delivery was clearly shared at the time of the order; and I was given clear information and instructions when the door finally was shipped. When the door arrived it was extremely well packaged. The door itself is solidly built, and well-priced. After giving it a final sanding I added a mix of 100% pure tung oil + citrus solvent and am in process of adding my final sealants. When future projects come along, I will definitely order more of my doors from this vendor.

We received our 7 doors without a hitch. They were packaged perfectly and they were quite stunning once unwrapped and hung. We'll recommend Allegheny Wood Works to anyone needing custom doors. You matched our 1979 wood jamb sample perfectly and these doors look beautiful. Thank you all so much for your time and craftmanship. It's much appreciated.

My client wanted a hardwood door for new house. He picked one from Allegheny Wood. 8 weeks promised delivery date ended up 4 months with no call back. Door was delivered damaged and carelessly thrown on a pile of gravel outside. Multiple emails exchanged to that regard only to be blame by there customer service for not signing for the door when we waited 8 hours for them only to show up after 5pm. Lesson learned, never again. If you feel lucky, go ahead and try them.

I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank the entire team of Allegheny Wood Works Inc for an outstanding job! In particular, Keri, Dan, Devan and the owners. Our front door far exceeds what we expected. The quality of the product is like no other.. This company will go the extra mile to help you decide on what door is best for your home and for you. A front door is a rather important decision, it makes a statement for your most valuable investment and is front and center for the world to see. We could not be happier with our experience with Allegheny Wood Works. When it came to types of wood, style, etc we had a very broad idea of what we wanted, Something Dark and Chunky... We talked with the guys over at the shop Steve and Mike and they made our ideas come to life! We are ecstatic with the way our kitchen island top turned out. This piece was a 8' x 4' and 2" thick Black Walnut Butcher block.
If you are in the market for a statement piece, Alleghany is the place for you! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Unfortunately, this company does not want customers. My experience was from December 22, 2019 through March 3, 2020. Just before Christmas I called them to give me a quote for a two door split pocket door combination, Dan was very nice and gave me confirmation that the prices were as posted to the internet sight. So I proceeded to give him all the specifications and send the CAD drawing out to me. I waited till after new year since I felt everyone was busy. When I called he said oh yea, he was working on it. When I asked him to verify my what I asked for he did not have the information correct. So I went over it again. Two days later I call and he said I am working on it. So I ask if could send it that day. He say he would try. Two days later again I call and when he finally sent the CAD drawing it was the wrong door pattern. He stated we have a new person doing the drawings. Then he a few days again send drawing with wrong and missing measurements. He then tells me that the shop really does not use this drawing to build the door. Frustrated I call again and get a new sales rep Joe. This is now 3 weeks into January. I tell him my story and he say that should not have happened and he would correct everything. He was more diligent but still the paperwork did not get completed till a week and a half into February and about 20 phone calls. Then I decided to pick up the doors myself instead of shipping because of a trip I was taking close to them. I called a couple of days before to check to make sure everything was in order and his response was it should be. I said I was just making sure because I do not want to get there and the doors are not completed. The night before I was to leave I get my FIRST personal E-mail from Joe Stating the doors have been damaged by one of there fork lift drivers. The next day I cannot get in touch with them, so I leave a message. So I E-mail them telling them how frustrated I was and stated in order to make this right you have three options 1 do a rush order so I can pick them up on my return trip. or 2 take a lease 50% off the shipping, or I cancel the order and write a review. Finallly get a hold of them 4 days later and he states he is working on the shipping. Still no updates 4 days later I call, trhis is now the end of February. He apologies and says he is still working thing out. Two more phone calls were made and I finally made the decision to cancel my order. This is now March 3. There was not effort on there part to make anything right. I had even told them that this small order was to check them out and if everything was good I would give them a second order of several doors later in the year. In addition I told them My good friend was in the door installation business and was very interest to see there product. Unfortunately This company does not care about customers and will not make any efforts to even communicate that they are going to do anything for you and they would not give me any dates for resolution. What company treats their customers like this. They were all very nice but if you do not tell the truth and most of all deliver how can any one trust very large orders. My friend in the door business will not be placing any orders with you. So Now you not only have lost my business but others also, not to mention your reputation.

WARNING NOTICE**
Be aware that if you choose to deal with this company you should know a couple of things.
First of all, the product is not the problem. The doors I received are generally good quality. However there are other companies that can produce a quality door every bit as good, so the question you need to ask is why should they get your business.
Don’t ignore the fact that the effects of this company’s service don’t just affect your order. Delays and poor service affect the timing and cost of other aspects of your project. Delays in my case required additional visits and time by contractors for installation, trim, paint, stain, and flooring.
Prices for this company are above average to high for the product, so it would be reasonable to expect to receive a level of service that matches. Unfortunately this company completely fails in the service department. I have had several experiences with this company’s service department and not a single one could be considered even adequate. Sadly, their service goes way beyond just poor.
In my case I placed 2 orders totaling nearly $20,000. I ordered stained solid walnut doors and jambs. I placed the second order when doing an addition and I needed doors matching the first order. Because they needed to match, I was forced to place the second order with them. Although my first order had problems, the second order was significantly worse.
Orders from this company take much longer than they should and longer than they advertise or tell you at the time of your quote/ordering. My second order was placed on April 16th and wasn’t shipped until July 16th That’s 3 months to ship! Keep in mind that it took 2 more weeks for it to arrive.
Sadly the problems didn’t stop there. The order arrived missing parts and damaged. It took me weeks and many emails to get them to even respond. When they finally responded they blamed their failure to respond to my numerous requests on the fact that one of their employees had left. A sad and ridiculous excuse. When I advised them that one of the doors was damaged by oil that appeared to have gotten onto the door during packing they refused to take any responsibility, because the damage wasn’t noted on the delivery receipt. I hadn’t noted anything on the delivery receipt because there were no signs of damage to the crate or packaging. The door that was affected was the very bottom door and the oil was on the top side of the door between the door and the packaging plastic. It was clear that it didn’t get there in shipping because there was not a single sign of oil anywhere else. The only oil was between the door and the side of the plastic in contact with the door. It could have only gotten there during packaging, but they still refused to do anything to help. As far as the missing door jambs, they said they would send them immediately, but after a week I again had to start calling and emailing. After 3 or 4 more times of trying to get a response they finally said they would send it out the next day…. the missing parts took nearly a month to get in. After all that they still refused to do anything to resolve the issue with the oil damaged door.
As if this were not enough, during installation my contractor noticed that one of the doors was “separating” between the laminations at one of the hinges. The doors I ordered are stained “solid” walnut so separation is not something that you can hide with paint or putty. I notified them again and after multiple attempts, and more than 2 weeks, they responded claiming that “it happens and since it doesn’t affect the integrity of the door nothing needs to be done”. I responded that the issue is a problem and I requested that they just replace the door. Their way of dealing with my request was to just ignore me. That was over 2 ½ months and during that time I sent 3 emails and I have not received a single reply. A month ago I sent another email complaining about their lack of response and have not received a single reply. The companies refusal to even respond makes it pretty clear that once they’ve been paid, servicing their clients is no longer important. I can’t help but thinking that maybe that’s why that other employee left?
So, when you consider sending your business to this company you need to know that once they have your money, any acceptable level of service will cease. I would also note that if you look at any reviews (other than the “Testimonials” on their website which they post & control), you’ll see that service is consistently noted as a problem. You’ll also find that they never take any responsibility for anything. In nearly every case they blame someone else. It’s always someone else’s fault. It seems even crazier that when people complain they don’t really do anything to fix the problem yet have the audacity to ask and expect the person to come back.
