Company and service guy was lovely but beware before you make a service call.we have a phantom retractable screen. This is the only company that services it in all of Nj so they have a monopoly. , Our screen magnets were not working and screen was hesitating when sliding. These screens have a lifetime warrantee on parts but after 2 years they charge for a service call. Anyway they tell me they are going to come out and take screen off of track and clean..none of this happened. They replaced the magnets and sprayed the track and charged $127 for 5 minutes of service, I could have gotten the magnets from the company and installed them myself or had a handyman do it for 1/2 the price. This option was not given to me, Their service guy could not have been any nicer but I would have liked the option to get the magnets sent. I called after to complain and they said we thought you might need a new screen . I sent numerous pictures before they came so they should have known what I needed. They have quite a racket going on

Hi Brenda,

As I responded on your Yelp review, we have a Limited Lifetime Warranty, so there are terms and conditions to what the lifetime warranty means. This is not new, nor is it something we have put in place - this is the manufacturer's warranty terms. The labor is only covered under warranty for the first two years, like you mentioned. After that, the parts are still covered, but there is a charge for service to send a technician to your home. On top of that, the magnets you had on the door when we arrived that were a set you purchased off Amazon and installed. Really, this would void the warranty because any work not done by a Phantom Screens trained technician to our products voids it.

We never said we'd take the screen off the frame of the door to clean it. The only reason we would ever take the door off the frame is if there is an internal part that needs to be replaced, or the mesh needed to be replaced. Cleaning the screen track is using the silicone spray on the tracks, like you said our technician did while on site.

I'm sorry, there was clearly some miscommunication between you and the women in the office as this could have been avoided had both sides had a clear understanding of what was going to happen. I'm also very sorry that this experience was less than ideal for you and I hope for any future service needed, we're able to make it a better experience than this was. We'll be sure to be clear about any charges, etc. prior to coming out for service so there are not any charges that are a surprise.

I would definitely recommend. Great customer service. Making an appointment was very easy. The installer came early. Explained the installation process. How it works, how to maintain & warranty. It’s a great product and you can’t even tell you have a screen.

We had a very specific request and went through numerous "consultations" and everyone was trying to talk is into something else. Tim was AMAZING and without hesitation came up with a solution for our situation. His products are amazing AND dealing with Tim and his staff/crew were such a pleasure to work with! Garden State Retractables help create our new favorite room of the house!

I was looking for a retractable screen for my front door. I contacted Garden State Retractables. Their office staff answered all my questions and got me on the schedule almost immediately. The installer was very polite and educated me on the use of the door. I would definitely recommend this company and their product.
