I ordered an entire door package for a new home build (10 doors, all NAFS compliant). It was over $25,000.00. Within 6 months of the doors being installed I noticed that there was water entering the house. Upon close inspection of the doors I realized it was an issue with their design of the threshold - water (i.e. rain) that hits the doors runs down the face of the doors and is forced into a U channel where it sits because there is not adequate drainage. One side of the U channel is metal (appropriate) but the other side is wood (not appropriate) that is glued to the metal so the water is effectively trapped up against the wood, unable to drain or dry out and instead has found a path INTO the house.
The issue was explained to the manufacturer (Leadwin Doors) but they refuse to acknowledge this issue and are instead, trying to make claims that it is because the doors are not under an awning, which is effectively admitting that these doors cannot withstand rain for any amount of time. Would not recommend this company. Poor design and they do not stand behind their work.
