“Southwest Door Did a very good job, that was detailed out in every aspect, I’ve yet to see something I would have them do over. I’ve worked in the trades for 50 years, only reason I didn’t do it myself is time frame, and having other stick in the fire, picking my battles at this age! Great job!”

“Paul Zimmerman will always be my contractor. Last year, he did a complete demo and remodel in my master bathroom, as well as a 3/4 remodel of my guest bathroom. I didn’t have a clue what to do with my master bathroom shower area and he rattled off several options, each with different variations that would suit my needs. I had had other contractors come in to discuss and give me bids, but none of them had the flexible mind that Paul has, not only with design, but with great money saving ideas. He is also willing to offer his opinions when I ask or when he sees my confusion over what to do. What I had in the master bath was an old shower, probably since 1981, with ugly tiles, impossible to clean, and worst of all, the sliding glass shower door that moved inside a track that easily got filthy and I despised cleaning. My flooring was so plain and ugly, the bugs couldn’t even bear to see it anymore. I also had the same dreary sinks and vanity. My guest bath I was just plain bored of. And I never did like the piping that showed behind the pedestal sink. Again, the drab floor needed a major makeover. Now I have a wonderful tiled wall for the shower. Paul knew just how to lay two rows of decorative tile, between which the large tiles lay in a diagonal pattern; above and below the decorative tile is laid in a straight type of pattern. He also put a little "bench" in the corner. Paul also discovered that he could create an inset for shampoos and soaps, so that is a great use of space. (He really knows how a house is built!) A curtain is not even needed, though I chose to get one anyway. I used the same tile for the flooring. And for the countertop for which I was considering a granite slab, Paul came up with the idea of getting large tiles instead. So my cost went from probably over $1,000 to something like $3.20 for each of 6 tiles. All of my fixtures are now in the oil rubbed bronze that I love, including the shower head which was recommended by Paul. Now in my guest bathroom, I knew I wanted a vessel sink. I looked at so many and found just what I wanted at the place Paul recommended. Found a great vanity, too. I also changed my mirror and lighting to go with my rustic theme. And my flooring says it all with the rustic; I absolutely love the stone. Well as long as I’m remodeling, I figured I’d change out the medicine cabinets and toilets, too. Paul recommended the type of toilet that sits higher than my current one. I love them! And they never fail to come up in comments from my guests!”

    Colletti Doors

    Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 22, 2013
“I have used Colletti Design Iron Doors on my last four custom homes and their quality and service have been unequaled in my 20 years as a builder. My formula for custom homes is a minimum of 1% of cost should go towards the first impression of a home. Every customer I've sent to Colletti has been happy to spend that amount and from the first meeting through design and installation have felt fortunate to have them be a part of their project. Desert Rose Door Refinishing
    Door Replacement Installers in Ahwatukee
    Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsOctober 12, 2017
“I hired Desert Rose to refinish all of our outside doors. Because of the extreme heat in Arizona, they recommended an acrylic finish instead of a gloss lacquer finish because acrylic will hold up much better. Desert Doors then restored the laundry room door which is mostly glass with alder wood. The door had severe damage from direct sunlight from the west. The door had cracks and other issues. Desert Rose was able to refinish the door back to its original state and once the acrylic was applies, it look like a new door. Lastly was the front door which is 48" x 9'; a massive alder wood door. The door hung to one side, scraping on the tile, so the door had not been used in two years. An examination revealed the panels were separating and no wooden rods or lag bolts had been used to keep the door together. The owner was hesitant to take on the door since it required reassembling and making the door square. However replacing the door would have cost $10,000 so I reassured the owner that Desert Rose was not responsible if the repair did not work out. Well it did with great results. The door was literally in pieces when removed from the hinges. Desert rose reassembled the door, was able to square it up and inserted very long lag bolts to hold the entire door in place. Refinishing was completed, the acrylic finish applied and the door rehung after working on the five hinges. They replaced the door hardware with new hardware that I had order. Test the door it it was not working much better than when we purchased the home in 2010. They dedicated 2 crews to refinishing and repairing the doors. Their work is superior to any other door work I had contracted for in the past. Desert Rose went way above and beyond and I can't say enough about them. If picture of the 2 doors get posted before and after, anyone reading this post will be amazed. I would recommend Desert Rose to anyone in need of door repair and refinishing. Thank you again Desert Rose!”
