“We were extremely happy with our experience working with this company and can't recommend them enough. We had a couple of major issues pop up during the project (not with the company, see below), and Hillklant was extremely professional, did great work, and had phenomenal customer service throughout all of it. Fantastic company. We hired them to build a gate for the pillars that were already in place in front of our driveway (see pictures). Unfortunately, we discovered that the pillars were hollow and were not built to hold the weight of a gate. Of the 4-5 quotes we got for the gate, Hillklant was the only company to have a viable solution to the problem (they put in a small footing on either side of the gate to bear the weight of the gate, and wrapped a decorative band around the top of the pillars to hold the gates upright; see attached pictures). Other companies either said they couldn't do it, that we'd need to get the pillars filled in with concrete before they could hang a gate on them (which would have been very expensive), or that they could hang them on the pillars as was (which was really scary because the pillars were definitely not built to withstand the forces of a hung gate without modification). They weren't quite the cheapest of the bids we got (they were about average), but they were the only ones that had any sort of reasonable solution to the hollow pillar problem. The second problem we had was with the company we hired to install the gate operators (Automatic Gate Specialists). This company was reasonable and professional up until the completion of the gate motor installation. We paid them their balance, and everything seemed fine. In less than two days, one of the motors pulled itself out of one of the pillars due to being improperly mounted. They wouldn't respond to me at all. Zero. Not even an acknowledgment of my calls and texts that it had broken. We finally had to threaten a lawsuit before they came back out and did a (really hideous) reinstallation with the same strength problems as the first time! At this point, Hillklant stepped in and fixed the botched installation (botched by the other company) with anchor plates (the way the motors should have been installed from the beginning on hollow pillars). Not only that, but they only charged us the price of materials for the repair. When they finished, it both looked fantastic and actually functioned correctly! As for the quality of the gate, it came out great. Look at the pictures, I think they speak for themselves. Whether or not you like the style of the gate (which was exactly what we were looking for), the quality was fantastic. Bottom line, the quality is great, their customer service is fantastic, and they know what they're doing. Can't recommend them enough.”

“I just installed my Murphy Door last weekend and we are thrilled with it. We aren't very construction savvy and we were so surprised at how easy it was to install. The pin at the top was a little tricky to get in, but we simply asked in a chat if they had any suggestion and they said it's designed to fit really tight and to just muscle it in, so we did with no problem. All in all it took us about half a Saturday to install this. Now we have a fun playroom that his hidden behind a secret door. Our grandkids love it! We couldn't be happier!”
