Featured Reviews for Door Dealers and Installers in Seattle
R & L Glass Installation
Door Dealers and Installers in Seattle
"I had 6 estimates for my whole house window replacement. I let those sit for 6 months - too many choices and designs to decide on. I was overwhelmed. I then asked R & L to come back for a second time because 1) this is a local, smaller company and 2) Adam, the salesman who did the 1st estimate, was very professional and thankfully, patient. He was the only one to suggest and offer inside trim and he actually taped up a grid design so I could 'see' what my windows would look like. None of the others did this, only told me that I should. The install was completed in one day and was very efficient. My windows are beautiful and the inside trim, which I lacked prior, really added charm to my home's interior. That was a bonus."

Shoji Designs Inc.
Door Dealers and Installers in Seattle
"Ed built two sliding shoji screens, a door and a small window for our master bath remodel. He worked with our designer to develop the appropriate dimensions and materials, then produced some beautiful work under a tight time frame. The finished products were of extremely high quality and we could not be happier with what he produced for us."

Aagesen Millworks
Door Dealers and Installers in Seattle
"Our home was broken into in April, destroying our double front doors. I was home at the time, and it took the thief about 5 seconds to get in, even with a dead bolt. I wanted new doors that were not only attractive, but much more secure! After a lot of searching, we were referred to Aagesen's. I worked with Craig and what a great experience! These doors are solid! They are also absolutely beautiful. These are custom made doors with the exact design and materials we were looking for, for about the same price that general doors ordered from a catalog would have cost. Working with Craig and the whole team was a great experience; they are all very friendly and helpful. The doors took about 6 weeks to make. Because it was then summer we had big delays getting the painter scheduled to paint them. After that was done, our finish carpenter was injured and couldn't install the doors! Craig recommended another carpenter who was just amazing! He came up right away, did an awesome job, and was so professional and reasonable. All in all, even though the initial experience was stressful we couldn't be more pleased with how the finished product turned out! Pardon the pictures; we are still doing construction inside the house!"

McVay Brothers Siding & Windows

splashglass
Door Dealers and Installers in Seattle
"Alan has done a particularly meticulous job of glass estimation, removal, installation and cleanup in our home using the original aluminum frames. Every outdoor frame in the home had its glass removed and replaced, all 103 panes of double-glazed glass. The size and extent of the job were quite large for a residence, yet Alan and crew covered every base; replacing old sliding door hardware to contracting a wooden/glass door replacement. It was clear that Splash had all the necessary equipment for every part of the job, from very large and heavy view-panes to angled skylight panes above the 2nd story. Needless to say we highly recommend Alan and Splash Glass."

What kind of services do door dealers provide?

Door dealers are responsible for a variety of services, including door installation, replacement, door repair and custom door design. If you need a new door, Seattle door dealers will help you determine what kind you need, as well as shape, color, size and more. From barn doors to French doors to front doors, these professionals can help you choose, install and maintain your door investments.

What are some common door materials?

There are four types of common materials used for doors.

Wood doors are beautiful, versatile and tend to be the most popular choice for both interior and exterior doors; they are easy to custom build, and include oak, cherry, walnut, mahogany, maple, fir and pine. Some standard wood doors have MDF cores wrapped in wood veneers, which minimizes the chances of warping as real wood expands when wet and contracts when dry. If your heart is set on a wood door but you think the Seattle climate might cause it to warp, talk to your door professional about a furniture-grade veneered door.

Steel doors are durable and resilient; for security purposes, you just can’t beat steel. An affordable choice, steel doors insulate well and will neither crack or warp, although they can be dented.

Aluminum doors have an insulated core and come in a variety of colors and finishes. With a baked-on enamel finish, they won’t rust or need repainting, and many come with a 20-year warranty. Next to wood they are the most expensive and have to be custom-made. A Seattle door dealer can help you find a reputable aluminum door manufacturer.

Fiberglass composite doors are a good choice for coastal homes. Tough and virtually maintenance free, fiberglass composite looks like wood and can even be stained to match woodwork. Made to last, these well-insulated doors are ideal for front entries as they can stand up to harsh and humid climates.

Questions to ask a prospective door dealer and installer in Seattle:

  • How long have you been in the business?
  • How many projects like mine have you completed?
  • Can you provide me with references?
  • How do you charge, and what does that include?
  • Can you give me a written estimate?
  • Do you complete free, in-home evaluations?
  • What do your services include?
  • Can I supply my own materials?
  • When can this job get done?
  • What happens when the cost exceeds the budget? What about changes to materials or labor pricing?
  • What will I need to provide?
  • Are there any important considerations or concerns you foresee with this project?
