“Leyla came out for a 2 hour consultation. My intent was to get ideas and colors for a dining room and bathroom. It was totally worth it because Leyla seems to instinctively know design. In her mind's eye she saw a round table where I had been considering to switch out my rectangular dining table for a round one but I hadn't even asked her yet. She pointed to me that of all the pictures I saved for her to see what style attracted me, my current decor did not reflect it, in color or style. Seems like a no brainer and yet I didn't see that until she showed me specifics. She pointed out things like wallpaper and paint meeting without an architectural break was a no no. I never liked the way it looked but didn't know why. She honestly pointed out that my kitchen was too dark, and that I should repaint the dark ceilings. Her manner is direct, honest and cheerfully friendly. I had a long list of questions and she addressed every one satisfactorily whether it was about draperies, wall colors or furnishings. I would hire Leyla again. Sorry no pictures yet. Because I'm acting as my own general contractor and doing a lot of the work myself it is taking longer than anticipated, perhaps I can attach a photo later on.”

“Hired Home Co. as a DESIGN-BUILD team to remodel my 100 hr old craftsman house in Rockridge (nice hip neighborhood in Oakland). I was selling the house and it needed some serious TLC to try and fetch top notch prices. Jennifer (the design arm of the design build) was nothing but TOP-NOTCH in her abilities to communicate, design, and bring my understated bungalow to the GEM that now stands there today. Since I was living >200mi from the project as it was getting done I had to solely rely on Jennifer's amazing "eye" to make sure each and every detail was perfect-- and it was. She transformed a 2BR/1.5BA reasonable house into an amazing 3BR/2BA home with an incredible livable space garage as well... I could not have been happier with the results. Steve (her husband the BUILD arm of the team) was the general contractor (RFC Renovations & Design) for the project and as with Jennifer and his team was also of the upmost highest quality. On time every day. Did super quality work and kept project moving to meet deadlines in order to sell in the time frame proposed by my realtor. DESIGN: Thoughtful, tasteful decisions and careful planning on where to make walls move or doors and windows placed including new skylights were all part of this project and each decision was all made with the eye toward maximizing sale value. She had ingenious ways of making my awkward original floor plan to a completely re-worked masterpiece. The open-space concept unifying my dining room-kitchen-living room could not have come out any better. COMMUNICATION: Both Jennifer and Steve sent daily or nearly daily updates and emails and phone calls when needed to keep me abreast of any major decision points or cost issues. I could not have been happier. Compared to other contractors and designers I've used they are BY FAR the most responsive. QUALITY: Workmanship and eye for the tiniest details were also all part of Jennifer's oversight. Nothing slipped through the cracks... HONESTY: Never once did I ever have an issue with bills or overages or change orders that weren't fully explained ahead of time. Unlike many in the 'trades', Home Co can and should be trusted to the highest degree. Always straightforward, no hidden fees, no hidden agenda. OVERALL: You would be hard pressed to find a better design-build team anywhere. I can vouch personally having did this remodel with Jenn AND doing my own remodel where I live (at the same time!), I only wish I could have hired Jenn and Steve for my own house... they are AMAZING and do incredible work and deserve the HIGHEST OF ACCOLADES.”
