RoSal Enterprises specializes in high quality home renovations, new home builds and construction management, as well as light commercial projects. We have over 35 years experience in Residential and Commercial Construction. Virginia Constantino, as principal owner of the company, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a background in marketing and finance. Virginia lived in and helped restore 3 antique homes with her parents and sisters and came to appreciate the process of revealing the true beauty of their 18th and 19th Century craftsmanship. Joe Constantino, as co-owner and chief operations director, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Technology. He apprenticed in commercial construction under the supervision of his father and later apprenticed as a trim carpenter for a residential contractor. After college Joe worked for several leading commercial construction companies in NYC, Long Island, Westchester and Fairfield for over 20 years. He was the Site Superintendent for projects from $1 million up to $100 million. Following the extensive renovation of his own 1940’s era home he rediscovered his love of the creative process of bringing blueprints to life and creating a home. Thus, RoSal was conceived during the great recession of 2007. We specialize in job coordination with various trades, and we only work with the best subcontractors and materials to help you bring your project to fruition from conception to a spectacular place to call home.
About us Rob Pattison has been in the service business for over 25 years. Originally from Ridgefield CT - Rob starting out in the Moving business, learning the great value of listening and learning from customers during one of life's most stressful times. Eventually moving into corporate sales in Manhattan with long hours of commute and travel and starting a family. Rob decided to explore other professional opportunities where he could have more control over his time, energy, and creativity. Remodeling work contained all the elements Rob was looking for in a career change. He has an enormous amount of energy and talent for it, and has put together a very successful team who share his commitment to planning, exploring all viable options, performing quality and professional work (the first time). Rob typically starts working with clients well in advance of showing up with his team or tools. He believes the greatest tool for remodeling work is a pencil. Remodeling work is ALWAYS stressful for the client, and a contractor, if the project is not well thought out and planned in advance . . . not to mention more expensive if done haphazardly. The time devoted to planning a project is where Rob's analytical skills, common sense, and willingness to look outside the box approach really outshines other contractors.

DHD Architecture and Interior Design is a versatile practice that encompasses residential, commercial, retail and hospitality projects, with full service capabilities in ground-up architecture, site development, interior design, and fine art consulting. DHD maintains a diverse portfolio of work in New York as well as internationally, including an active practice in New Zealand that reflects principal David Howell’s creative ties to his home country. The philosophy of DHD begins with a commitment to outstanding service. Design excellence involves a deep understanding and development of our clients’ aspirations for their projects, as well as a thoughtful fulfillment of their real budgetary and scheduling goals. From early conceptual and planning stages through to construction documents and administration, our intent is to provide intelligent direction for our clients that will create both value and beauty. We focus on collaboration with all of the partners in the process, so that the design experience is transparent, responsive, foresighted, and flexible. The design foundation of the office is modernistic – an approach both naturalistic and modern that combines elemental and ecological forms with a minimized, sculptural architectural imprint. While we begin no project with a preconceived style, we do aim to instill spaces with certain principles: an appropriate bridging of indoors and outdoors; a wise and atmospheric use of light as a fundamental part of architecture; a sympathy for site and origin; an exciting use of materials; a marriage of the organic with the common and industrial. And in all of our work, we believe in peeling away generalized expectations to reveal a true sense of the occupant’s personality or the company’s brand, in a form that is elegant, joyful, and sustainable. Our team of 20+ designers has end-to-end experience in the complex process of building in urban settings as well as in the particular requirements of working with clients and companies abroad. We offer a skilled hand in the restoration of historical buildings, and we are expert at retrofitting modern systems while preserving original structures.

I started my practice in 1986 after ten years of apprenticeship with architectural firms in Boston and award-winning Centerbrook Architects in Connecticut, working on a variety of projects including the King Khalid Military City in Saudi Arabia, public libraries, facilities for IBM, a new student center at Colby College, and private residences from Washington DC to Cape Cod. It was during this time that I was first drawn to the challenges and rewards of residential architecture. Since opening my practice I have personally served my clients throughout all phases of their projects because I believe my personal attention to my client’s needs is the key for getting the best results. This is especially true for residential architecture that operates frequently at a very individual and intimate level. I recognize that my residential clients want their personal demands and preferences attended to with care. In 2006 I partnered with a talented builder (and longtime friend) to form a design-build company, Essex Squared LLC. Prior I had seen that my most successful projects resulted when teams of owner, architect and builder were formed early on. In essence that team approach is the design-build model. With decreasing frequency I use the design-bid-build process that is familiar to many. My preference is for design-build with its many advantages: cost control, efficiency, and design continuity to name some. Design-build allows a much less stressful approach by balancing owner expectations for a design with its costs from early conceptual sketches to construction-ready documents. In any project my approach is to work with my clients to find the right design for them whether for me it means working in a style of their preference, blending a addition seamlessly into an existing house, or creating a design that is unique to their needs and their site. I want my clients look to me for expert advice and guidance while they feel welcome to be active participants in the design of their homes if they so choose. Ultimately, I want to create houses with lasting beauty, and that I believe comes from taking advantage of opportunities to weed out the unnecessary in order to strengthen the essence of a design. And, houses should be well built with good materials as lasting tributes to the efforts made to create them. Whitney Huber, AIA
