We were told there would be wood cores in every post of our 260ft of fence. Not ONE wood core or even cemented, post were just put into the dirt and not even tamped in around the outside perimeter. Our fence has now come apart and fallen down about 20 times in the past 6 months. Poor workmanship and management. They completely ignore any phone calls and emails. Very disappointed.
$2,180 and 21 weeks later- still no fence. I signed a contract with Garbarino to install a fence in my yard on August 14, 2017. I live on a very busy street and have two young children so I wanted something to keep them safely in the backyard. We gave him $2,180 to be used for the purchase of materials. At that time Garbarino told me it would be 6-8 weeks before installation. After 6 week (on September 25) I called Garbarino to see when they would be coming by so I could be prepared. He said that we were on schedule for installation between 10/8 and 10/12. When I came home on 10/12 no fence had been installed and I had received no communication from Garbarino. I called and was told I would get a call back in 30 minutes. No call came that day or the next. On my way home from work on 10/13 I called Garbarino again. There was no answer and no voicemail had been set up. I tried calling several more times and received the same message. The lack of communication and the voicemail not being set up raised some red flags for me. My wife called on 10/15 and was able to leave a message demanding that they start the fence the next week or give us our money back. I called again the next day (Monday, 10/16) and spoke with Garbarino. At that time, he said that they were on schedule to begin installation by Friday 10/20. 10/20 came and went with no fence or any communication from Garbarino. That evening my wife called and spoke at length with Garbarino. He stated on the phone and then in a subsequent email that he would start the fence by 10/25 or give us our money back (he said it would probably take a month to get it back). When I came home on 10/25 there was still no fence and, again, no communication from Garbarino. This being the third date we had been given for installation where he did not show up or communicate in any way, my wife emailed Garbarino demanding that he return our deposit by 11/22. He replied on 10/26 saying that he had lost 3 days due to rain (Monday had no rain, Tuesday had slight showers for a very brief period, Wednesday was very rainy) but said nothing about returning our deposit. On 11/22 we sent a 93A Demand Letter formally asking for the return of our money within 30 days. On 12/5 Garbarino sent us an email stating that he could get materials and begin installation within 1-2 weeks. We agreed, stipulating that we would only pay the amount quoted in our original estimate for labor. He never showed or communicated again in any way. 1/9/2018 - over 21 weeks since signing the contract. We are currently pursuing recourse through the legal system but as of now it looks like we’re out $2,180 and still have no fence to keep our two young children safe.
Cannot comment on quality of work and or company, since fence has not been installed!...We gave Mr Garbarino a large deposit after signing contract mid August. He committed to install last week of October. No shows/rescheduled five times. Not heard a thing since a Nov.29th email from him, and then he Simply Vanished. Mike Garbarino has refused to communicate with us, and to answer calls/texts/emails since Nov.29th. This is the only open channel of communication in the hopes you will call back to refund money or deliver materials.
Mike is a Stand-up guy with a great crew. Mike would always keep me updated on the progress and made sure we understood the installation. He wouldn't have anything else, Very professional ,Always Great communication, Great prices. I would recommend him to anyone especially to my family.
Excellent customer service! Mike and team did a great job installing over 700 liner ft of 6ft cedar fence. Looks great and a neighbor hired him to replace their fence when he completed ours. Highly recommend Garbarino Customs.
