Last October, 2019, we met the stone mason that would be re-tiling our bathrooms. While there, he saw that we needed our fireplace replaced. "I can do that, too." he said. Great. Problem solved. Until it wasn't. In March we were told he couldn't do it and would have to enlist a company from Italy to make it. Could take 5-6 months (because of Covid-19). I didn't want a gaping hole for another (possible) year. So I went on the internet and found Ancient Surfaces. Liked what I saw on the website and talked to Tony. I liked him and got my wife to talk to him. Long story short we selected a mantel and hearth that day. It was installed 11 days later by true craftsman. Tony came through with everything he said he would do. And he's a nice guy! Now, we are enjoying our 16th Century Antique limestone mantel and hearth (amazing!). Would I recommend and use Ancient Surfaces again? Absolutely! You will be thrilled if you do, too.

Absolutely amazing and gorgeous results and entirely unique. Tony takes personal care to provide a seamless process from design and product selection through delivery and advice on proper installation. I am in California and he is in NY but always there to guide. The 700 year old came in 3 days and no breakage as packed in crates with care. And to get first cut stone in 5/8 thickness was a miracle. A truly fabulous project. Even the installers were excited to see such beauty and the compliments are flowing!

Tony was a joy to work with. I bought 6 fireplace surrounds from Ancient Surfaces. All were based on historically correct fireplaces that Tony had procured throughout Europe; however they all required customization to adapt to my home. Tony was flexible and easy to work with. He even sent extra limestone just in case we needed it. You won't be unhappy.

I have been in contact with Tony from Ancient surfaces for the past 5 years. Our project to build a home and garden took longer than expected but Tony remained pleasant and very patient. This past May we were finally able to order the fountain and a very large planter. The product is beautiful. Just ordered 2 hand carved keystone to match ones stolen and damaged from a job site recently. Sent them photos and dimensions and they matched the old keystones. They are so beautiful and our customer will be pleased that they arrived so quickly with being airfreighted. Tony with Ancient Surfaces handled everything and was easy to deal with. Photos show the old one damaged which we were lucky to have to show the exact details. These weren't cheap but you get what you pay for. Being hand carved in France with air freight took about 6 weeks to receive.

We bought an ancient limestone sink from them. They were very professional to work with, very responsive, and the item arrived very well-packaged and as requested. I had requested a drain hole be drilled in the sink, and it was also perfectly executed. I would highly recommend working with them!

I purchased from this company a 17th century inlaid marble sink from Italy, and a 17th century limestone bench, also from Italy. They are both absolutely beautiful pieces! Tony was extremely helpful. And they have many different types of products. In addition to ancient or antique benches and sinks, they have both old and new fountains, fireplaces, entryways, stone wells,tile and marble flooring, etc.

When I decided to build my retirement home I knew it had to be unique. In researching building materials I came across the Ancient Surfaces web site. I reached out and spoke with Tony and gave him my vision. With his hands on input I picked out a unique entryway, wall and floor cladding, an indoor and outdoor fireplace, antique sink, and outdoor fountain. I received 60 crates of materials on time. Each crate was meticulously packed with no breakage. The items that had to be reconfigured were clearly marked and my stone mason had no difficulty putting the pieces back together. The end result is a new home with a "soul" due great part to the authenticity of the materials I used. It is the most unique home my builder has constructed in over 30 years. Despite being told by my colleagues that building a new home can be a nightmare, Ancient Surfaces made the process seamless. I would have no reservation in using this company in the future and recommend them to my friends. It is a pleasure to write this review for them since in this day and age finding companies who do what they say they will do is becoming increasingly rare.

Let me start by apologising for not reviewing my buddies at Ancient Surfaces any earlier. Have been working with them for Six years straight but have seen their incredible work as early as 1998. Over the years, many of my A-list clients have come to me early in their projects with photos of Ancient Surfaces fireplaces, fountains, floors and sinks as part of their 'file'. I normally dread the architectural finishes hopscotched in the 'file' unless I start seeing Ancient's goodies. We've worked together on so many various projects ranging from old church restorations to 30,000 squared feet custom estates that demanded 11 fireplaces and as many fountains. Once you've worked with them you'll quickly realise that this company operates at a totally different level from the rest of the industry. They are truly zealous and fanatics about quality, historic context, look, patina, finish, customer service and satisfaction! Bravo to both owners Jon and Tony you guys rock, the best is yet to come!

Ancient Surfaces are a class act, they deliver on their promise, their craftsmanship is superb, and the product is stunning. We had a beautiful replica of a 17th century French Provincial Fountain carved out of limestone by their Master carvers in Marseilles, France. Tony is the best and he will take care of your project. Remember this is like a piece of art when they are done and plan ahead as it will take time to carve your piece and then ship it from France. Well worth the time for a very unique piece.

We purchased an outdoor stone fountain and a carved marble sink. The process took several months during which time we made several revisions. All were handled with aplomb and utmost courtesy. Items arrived on schedule and in great condition yesterday. We recommend Tony and Ancient Surfaces and would buy from them again.

I bought an antique fireplace from Ancient Surfaces. It is beautiful and so is their customer service. They even helped with the installation over the phone. Awesome company!!!

I am doing a large renovation of my home (total project over $100k) and needed the "perfect" floors. We are installing a large scale sliding door which opens up the entire wall of our family room to create an indoor/outdoor living space and our dream was a uniform floor indoor/outdoor so that it was truly seamless. We have an outdoor spa so we require a non-slippery surface. I saw the millennium planks on Houzz in an indoor/outdoor application and I fell in love. I called them and was immediately called back by Tony Bennetti. I was scared to ask about the price of the stone because the photographs on line were amazing. It is not inexpensive but frankly I was pleasantly surprised. It is a tremendous value considering the market for other less desirable local stone (DFW Metroplex) options and also far superior in aesthetics. I was very nervous because purchasing off of the internet is frightening and I needed more than 2000 square feet. I asked Tony for two samples which he promptly sent to me. Ancient Surfaces will tell you that the stones are very durable because of their age and also the quality of the type of stone. I won't try to repeat the story on Olithic limestone (Tony's version is too good to attempt a repeat) but I was a skeptic that they didn't need a sealant and that they would last. Limestone is not known to be durable. I doubt anyone done a more stringent test on these floors than my husband. My husband poured wine, ketchup, jelly and a variety of oils. in fact, he scrubbed the items into the stone and then let them sit for hours before washing them off. It turned into a bit of a contest at some point. I literally could not spot the location. Obviously not planning on incurring this type of damage but I also feel very confident that Tony is right about this stone. We also called references which were all glowing. We purchased 2150 square feet and just received the stone! I was incredibly nervous because it was a very large amount of stone and I was purchasing it off of the internet. The delivery was exactly as promised both for the amount of time that it would take to receive the product and packaging. There was no breakage which is a testament to the very impressive packaging. The stones are arranged in the crates so that there is a variance in the size and colors. This is imperative so that when the stone is installed it is uniform throughout the large project. We inspected all 6 crates and it is amazing. We put out the first portion of the floor and it absolutely looks better than in the pictures. The builder was happy that it was extremely easy to install. Trust me - the pictures do not do it justice. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of extremely long planks (60") and that these were not broken. The stone has the perfect amount of variance both in color and in size which is what makes it so unique and beautiful. The width is uniform but the length went from 18" to 60". It is unique. I love that it is absolutely not slippery which makes it perfect for the indoor/outdoor use. Beautiful doesn't quit describe it. The customer service for this company is impressive. I called Tony with so many questions along the way. He is readily available, responsive and informative. He believes in his product and I can see why. I highly recommend Ancient Surfaces. Ancient Surfaces did an incredible job helping us select from an amazing variety of reclaimed antique European limestone fireplaces. They were professional, knowledgeable and the fireplace arrived safely and on time. It has become the centrepiece of our library and is absolutely gorgeous. I would have no reservations recommending Ancient Surfaces to anyone looking for a remarkable piece of history for their home.

When remodeling my kitchen, I got it into my head that I wanted thick chunky limestone slabs for my bar countertop. I came upon Ancient Surfaces and Eureka! Exactly what I was looking for! The fact that these slabs have a history, and are essentially indestructible, was a bonus! I called the phone number on the website to ask some questions, and was surprised when Tony took an unprecedented amount of time to talk me through the process and the attributes of using his slabs. I asked about the stone sinks (seriously, this stuff is so cool) and Tony found me an antique one that would match my bar top slabs and fit perfectly in my limited space. The only downside is that it takes a while for the product to sail across the sea and land in Southern California, but SO WORTH THE WAIT!! Tony was able to precut and finish the counter slabs to fit my exact dimensions. Another slight drawback is that the color is a bit unpredictable (my sink was much "whiter" than the photo had depicted and the three slabs aren't "exactly" matching one another), but it is still crazy beautiful. I am NOT disappointed at all... In fact... It all adds to the natural rustic beauty of these unique show stopping pieces. My new kitchen Is a work of art and Ancient Surfaces made the process of bringing my vision to light a breeze. Go for it - take the leap of faith... You'll be really glad you did!!

I found 2 beautiful antique fireplaces on Ancient Surfaces website and just fell in love with them. Unfortunately the antique ones were way out of my budget. In discussions with them they said they could exactly replicate the ones I had seen and hand carve them from lime stone and then Antique them. See the result for yourself!! WOW exactly what I had hoped for, for less than half the cost of the Antique ones. I just LOVE them and I will have Ancient Surfaces do the one for my master bedroom as well.

I used ancient surfaces on a remodel in southern Ca. The first time I spoke with Tony I was impressed by his knowledge and patience. Not being able to physically see the product I was concerned that it would not look the way it did in the photos. I purchased the Biblos stone,a new fountain and a new fireplace. Ancient Surfaces has the largest selection of beautiful antique stone tiles that I have found. The selection available is very large and the quantities for each designs they have are enough for most jobs. The prices on their antique stone is within reason also. I was very please with my quote. Aside from being in love with the product they offer they are very professional, knowledgable, and helpful. I was provided with a lot of history on where the tile came from which was an added bonus for me. I was personally contacted by phone after an email and was able to get all my questions answered in a patient, kind manner. The follow up emails and phone calls were very prompt. I think this is the only place to go if its original antique stone you are looking for. Cant wait for the day we are able to put our order through.

I love the look of Ancient Surfaces' Mediterranean style landscaping and the fact that they use beautiful natural materials such as reclaimed Mediterranean stone to achieve their distinctive organic style.
