Fireplace Shanty

On March 19, 2015 I hired Tom from the Fireplace Shanty to install a Regency wood burning insert. I gave him a $2,250 deposit (1/2 of the $4,500). During the Easter holiday he called and said the equipment would be delayed 4-6 weeks. Since that time I have tried to call him numerous times and e-mails. I did not hear from them to this day. I took a ride to the office on Rt 40 in Mayslanding to find the place closed on a day that they were to be opened. It looks deserted! Now when I call I get the , "your call can not be completed" message. It's oblious they are in the taking of money business and not the fireplace business. Ironically on their building, trucks and paperwork it says God Bless Everyone Everywhere! Yeah, thanks for the blessing. I'd much rather my 2,250. I'm sure we aren't the only ones. Give yourself a chance and file a report.

I hired the Fireplace Shanty to install a wood burning stove in my home. I found Tom to be knowledgeable and respectful, and he came recommended to me. However, after hiring Tom and his company and giving a hefty deposit, I have not heard from or been able to get in contact with anyone at this company in a month. I gave Tom my email address on December 9, 2014 with the assurance from him that he would email me some samples, and did not receive them. I have attempted to call and email at least 7 times now to now avail. It is now January 6, 2015, and I had been given an install date of either this week or next, and so far I cannot get in touch with anyone, nor has anyone reached out to me. Please use extreme caution before thinking of hiring Tom and the Fireplace Shanty, they will take your money and then disappear.
