GasTech Heating & Fireplace

If I could give GasTech a higher rating than 5 stars I would. Bryan was very helpful in guiding us with our project, from choosing a fireplace to connecting us to a stone provider. Their trades person Gerry was very professional and did a fantastic job installing the fireplace as well as the stonework. The completed job looks absolutely amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family. Thank you team!!

It was a rather smooth process. We went to their showroom, and were able to select among a large number of options. Then we went to the stone provider, set an appointment to do the work, and in less than a week we have our fireplace up and running, including the inspection from the City of Calgary because we were changing from wood fireplace to gas fireplace. Very knowledgeable people with a lot of options to fit all budgets.

We are very pleased with the installed product. The technicians were very knowledgeable and able to overcome a number of obstacles that arose during the installation process. The cost of the gas fireplace installation at $7500.00 was more than we had anticipated partially due to having to remove masonry, electrical installation and the addition of an optional fan. We are happy that we chose to have the fan installed as it broadcasts the heat.

When we were in the planning stages of replacing our old deck, we started looking at fire pit options for our new deck, and saw a fire table that we loved on Pinterest. After looking at the prefab fire pits available in our area, we realized the one we wanted was definitely a custom job. Our big challenge then was finding a company in Calgary that would build one for us - and through good luck and thanks to Houzz, we found Bryan Love & Gas Tech. Bryan is very knowledgeable and the process was seamless - Gas Tech took care of everything! They got the permit, custom built the fire table, collected & installed the stone we chose (from one of the stone suppliers they recommended), co-ordinated delivery & installation of the top stone with the stone supplier and finally, one of their amazing gas technicians did the final hook-up. Our fire table is gorgeous!! We are very, very pleased, very highly recommend!

Just moved into the neighbourhood and wanted to work with a local provider. Decided to go with GasTech and booked an afternoon appointment when we would be home for a gas fitting. Technician called to show up 6 hours early when we were at work and my elderly mother who was visiting was the only one at home. I called and asked to speak to the technician to ask if the job was complicated and if he needed anything. He told me to 'Talk to someone else'. I asked if the job would be difficult (it's an old house), he again responded 'Talk to someone else'. I was confused and couldn't understand who else I should be speaking to since he was the one at my house and asked again if he could just let me know what kind of work would be required to which he responded "Find someone else" and walked off the job without doing anything at all. Worst service ever and I still don't understand what necessitates the rudeness and lack of service. I will end up going with a larger company who believes in customer service and hiring trained technicians. Very bad experience.

In the spring my wife and I decided to purchase a gas fireplace. We chose this company and the project has now been completed. -Throughout our decision making process, we worked with Bryan Love. He was fantastic. He came to our house and clearly discussed a wide range of options. He offered suggestions and alternative ideas based on our questions and comments. He suggested options that would cost less than some of the things we initially asked about. -Perhaps 6-7 weeks passed between when Bryan originally visited our place and we finally decided to actually buy something. We emailed or dropped by the Bowness location a few times with questions. At no point were we ever rushed to make a decision or purchase. -When considering hearth pads, Bryan even let us take several samples home to compare in our house. -There were multiple points when Bryan could have added to the project, and we probably would not have known the difference. Instead he helped us limit costs wherever we could (e.g. running gas line, hearth pad, type of fireplace). -The ordering process was very convenient and straightforward. Our purchase had to be delivered from Norway, and the timeline was almost spot on as Bryan predicted. -The installation process was supposed to be completed in a day, but it ended up spread over two days due to some issue with the gas fitter not being available as planned. This was obviously less than ideal. -The first stage of the installation (e.g. unpacking the fireplace, putting it in place, putting in venting) was completed by Valane. He did a fantastic job, and he seems to take great pride in his work. -The second stage of the installation was the gas fitting. The gas fitter did everything he was supposed to do, but I don't think he has quite the same attention to detail. For example, he could have sealed some openings cut through a deck or wall a little better than he did. That having been said, if this is the biggest complaint, clearly that's a good thing. -The enamel coated stove had a couple of very small chips when it was unpacked. Fortunately they were not in obvious areas. Bryan immediately ordered in touch-up paint from Vancouver and came himself to do a touch up on the chipped areas. Now, they are virtually impossible to notice. All told, this was a very good experience. I would go back to this company if I wanted to do another project.

We decided to change out our old wood burning fireplace with a gas fireplace - we contacted a few companies to come in to take a look at our fireplace and give us a quote - we had three companies come in and were very impressed with GasTech - decided to have them do the job. The people that came into our house to do the project were very professional, polite and punctual. They did an excellent job and the finished product was beyond our original expectations. We would definitely recommend GasTech

We had Gastech install a new Regency Wood Fireplace Insert in our old fireplace. Bryan detailed our requirements, and came out and did a site survey of our existing fireplace. He reviewed the options with us, and helped us finalize our selection. He gave us a very competitive quote and we went for it! It took about a month to get the fireplace equipment all ordered and scheduled in. There were some challenges due to the non-standard hearth size and the height of the mantle, but they were able to fabricate a suitable cover. The installers were friendly and professional, and the staff were very helpful and supportive through the process. I would certainly recommend GasTech to any out there looking for a fireplace. It's been over 6 months since its been installed, and it works great! Most fireplaces seem to remove heat from the house unless its roaring, but this little wood insert fireplace and fan really kick out the heat. Its surprising the way that the wood burns in a high efficiency fireplace. It almost glows like lava! It also works great for cooking marshmallows too! Thanks!

I had my wood burning fireplace converted to a gas insert. Gas Tech was able to provide me with the style of gas insert that I wanted.My installation ran into a snag due to unexpected existing structural issues during the renovation.Bryan, Bill and the staff at Gas Tech were very professional, courteous and resolved the issues .They were always available to answer any questions or concerns.

We were very pleased with the work that was done but had some issues with the finish. The workmen were knowledgeable and worked well together. There was very little mess and it was cleaned up after each days work. The rough work and positioning of the fireplace, the drilling, the gas fitting was very neatly done.. All was done in a timely fashion. The only issue we had was that some of the finishing tiles stuck out too much.

Very precise and kind attitude. Very on time with their job. Overall they displayed themselves very professional, top notch company and first class technician. Highly recomended to everyone.
