Authentic Hardwood Flooring

Authentic Hardwood Flooring did the hardwood flooring and stair installation on a remodel project we recently completed. We were assured by Authentic Hardwood Flooring that they had the necessary skills to install not only the flooring, but also the hardwood on the stair treads, nosing, and risers in our master bedroom. Unfortunately, this was not the case at all. As the accompanying photos reveal, the installer did a very poor job on our stairs. See the photos that show poor cuts on the nose, risers and treads. There are gaps between the flooring on the treads and the nose. The nose sits higher than the treads creating an area that is easily damaged through normal use, and creates an uneven and unattractive stair surface. Materials were apparently cut with a dull blade which damaged the edges of the hardwood and left visible splintering. I asked the installer about the gaps on the risers and he shrugged it off saying that those areas can be caulked in before painting. On one of the landings the nose was not attached properly and was loose almost the entire length across the width of the landing. This created a dangerous condition since this area is constantly walked on while using the stairs. The installer also ran short on material and we were told this would take additional time to re-order and come back to re-install. For some reason, no one ever arrived on the day of the installation to check up on the installer or to follow through with any type of inspection. Of course, we informed them of our disappointment. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this company.

With the exception of our bathrooms, our entire house in Florida has hardwood floors and we are extremely pleased with the outcome; we also ordered floors from Gordon for our cabin in Georgia and he was able to have them shipped directly to our construction site while our builder was there! Gordon is extremely knowledgeable and gives great advice on installation as well
