J. Rapaport Wood Flooring

Go no further! Maxx at Rapaport is not only the nicest person, but our floors are spectacular! The Rapaport crew were professional, polite and did an amazing job. We had a tight time-line to move in after renovations, (and close to 2000 sq feet of flooring) that was stripped, stained and then finished with a gorgeous top coat. Painless!

This company was great. I was surprised by how painless the flooring experience was. I was dreading the amount of work we were having done and thought they would run into so many issues or have many delays. Whatever hurdle came up these guys just overcame. It was inspiring! I am blown away by the results and will recommend them to anyone and everyone asking for a flooring professional in my area!

Top notch job on our new floors. We had a very tight window of time with other renovations taking place. From demolition of existing floors to installation, sanding and finishing of the new floors - the teams on-site were great. Alan and Maxx were always responsive to any questions. We could not be happier with the end result.

Terrible experience. Terrible end result and terrible customer service. Alan treated us poorly and lied to us time and time again, gave us the run around for weeks and months after acknowledging that they messed up, knew the fix would cost a lot of $, he promised to fix but kept dodging us. We paid $4,000 and he had the audacity to tell me he didn't even send me his best guys. He had his sanding specialist do my stain job. Details: We didn't love the original color that we picked (once the stain was already coated) we asked what our options were, alan said we can add the color we wanted with the last seal and it would do the trick, we were very clear with him, we asked if there were any negatives to doing this he said NO, he said 0 negatives. The end result, the floor looks painted, is slippery, has dark spots throughout and is scratching so very very easily. Had we have been told it would look like this we would have kept the original color. We brought in other experts and they said the rule that every pro knows is never mix the stain color with the seal. We broke the rule and oh did we pay. Alan played us For fools, he was rude and obnoxious throughout our experience with dealing with him. We built our home, full gut, 18 month job and Alan from j rappaport wood floor was by far the worst sub contractor that we dealt with. We later Discussed with PGS to fix as everyone knows in the tri state that they are the very best and most professional in the industry to work with.

I have been using J. Rapaport Wood Flooring for over 15 years. The workmanship is excellent. The customer service is great and the men on the job are clean and respectful of our apartments. We are very pleased with them.

It kills me to have to give this company one star. This is by far the worst contractor I have ever dealt with. They installed wood floors in my new house and there are gaps between boards all over the house. (see photos). Even paid them to come back and replace a cracked board they refused to do under warranty even though it was a few months old. And NOW THAT SAME BOARD IS CRACKED AGAIN! Once again, they refuse to fix it under any kind of warranty (board is only 5 months old). The only thing worse than their product is the customer service. Takes days to get someone on the phone, and when you get someone you’ll get a BS answer like “we need to send someone to look at it” (no one ever shows up). Do yourself a favor and find someone else. This company is going to be nothing but a headache
