Team was Punctual every day and had completion of installing my floors under the time they expected. Removed old carpet and fixed floors where needed. Excellent work ethic. Friendly and loved my dogs! Tried to be as inconvenient as possible and cleaned up better then I could. Would and will recommend them to all! It is difficult to convey just how much we love our new floors designed and expertly installed by Sandberg’s! The floors feel amazing to walk on, are truly beautiful, and add something intangibly wonderful to our lives. The experience with Sandberg’s was incredible from start to finish. While Sandberg’s does this all the time, Phil who was our primary contact, understood that for us choosing and installing new floors was a huge event, and he was really patient and helped us make the important decisions about the type of wood to choose, the stain, and the special details to help make new flooring feel both modern and authentic in our 150 year old space. It was important for us to work with a company that had a lot of experience because our house has no right angles, after 150 years of settling, various surfaces needed to be leveled and stairs needed to be rebuilt. One of our favorite details is the chevron pattern in our very long entrance hallway. On one side the wall is curved, and the hallway has different widths in different places, making it seem like a symmetric design would be simply impossible. With Phil’s creative design and Brandan’s expert planning, and the team’s execution, there is now beautiful symmetry wherever one looks. The hallway is really more like a room now, more like a destination than something to simply pass through. In fact, every room on the first floor has been absolutely transformed by the gorgeous rift and quartered white oak, the borders, and the many other details that Sandberg’s planned and implemented. They essentially built fine and yet very sturdy furniture onto the subfloor of our house. We appreciated that the team arrived just after we left for work in the morning, and when we came home things were cleaned up enough so that we were able to stay upstairs while they worked downstairs, making the whole project more affordable. Communication was absolutely clear, stress free, and actually enjoyable. We could not be happier with every aspect of their work, and we plan to use Sandberg’s in phase 2 when we replace the upstairs floors. We recommend Sandberg’s wholeheartedly and with pleasure!

Great consulting on scope of project work and color choice, available for questions prior to start and during project, on time each day of work (5), completion as estimated prior to start, courteous staff on-site handling work, thorough draping of areas not under repair, cleanup each day after work completed, furniture moved and replaced prior to and after job. Sandberg's is fantastic. They removed ceramic tile in kitchen, dining and hallway areas and carpet in the living room then installed new white oak flooring and baseboards. The final touch was a beautiful hand crafted medallion at the front door. All beautiful work. We worked through many options with Phil until we found the right one for us. Demo and installation led by Ben and Nick and the rest of the team was top notch. During all this they were very accommodating and saw to it that we were comfortable. I can't begin to express how grateful we are that Sandberg's was able to come and help us compete what we thought was a DIY project for hardwood floors. In the final stages of laying the stain we found ourselves in a bind. We needed professional help - starting with our initial phone call to the store we felt immediately at ease. Our floors are eastern white pine which for those that do not know is not a normal type of flooring used in many homes. It absorbs stain so quickly, like a sponge making it so hard to lay the stain and 2 other companies didn't feel confident in helping us. We were at our witts end and felt like maybe we should have never even began this project. They are truly knowledge in so many different areas. Sandberg's team was the only one in the area that seemed like they knew exactly what needed to be done. Wyatt came out and carefully helped us lay 7 different stains to get the perfect desired color. I felt bad because the first few weren't the right color so he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and genuinely did not mind. Not only were they able to get the floors done sooner than we thought but the outcome was far beyond our expectations. I couldn't be more happy with the floors. When I walked in it was like a team of magical elves came and fixed our entire house. They work so clean and left behind nothing. My mother's living room has 50+ year old oak peg custom flooring. A water leak caused damage to 3/4 of the flooring and had to be removed. Sandberg's installed the new floor and feathered it in to what was left of the original floor. After sanding, staining, and finish coating the entire floor you cannot tell the old from the new. They did a wonderful job and we are so happy with the result. Thanks to the work crew for a job well done!

A water leak from the fridge caused a few boards in the kitchen to buckle. The area required the boards to be replaced and entire first floor needed to be sanded and stained. This was a large project that required us to leave the house for a week. From the first consult, to picking stain colors for the floor, to completing the job, the people from Sandberg's were professional and kind. They were able to assist with moving out all furniture to a pod and unhooking the entire laundry room and then bring everything back into the house. The communication from the Sales to Project Manager to the Team was excellent. As with any large scale project there are bumps, but the collective Team at Sandberg's was professional and transparent. Thank you for handling our project and home with care.

We were a little scared to have someone come in and do our staircase after 25 years of being in our home. It wasn't a typical staircase and had several contractors tell us that they couldn't do it. After getting Sandberg's name from a friend, Phil came out, gave us a quote and we felt confident that they knew what they were doing. The results were amazing! They were very detail oriented and made sure they cleaned up after each day. They were in and out in the time frame they estimated. The crew were very attentive to what we wanted exactly and they were a great group of guys. It is the focal point when walking into our house and it looks absolutely beautiful. We are extremely satisfied and would recommend them to anyone. What a great job!

These guys are absolutely amazing. They are so professional in every way- extremely high quality work (exceeded expectations!), great with communicating, always on time, meticulous, able to work around any curveball (Unexpected results when carpet was pulled up! Curious cats! Me working from home! A baby grand piano!) and everyone on the job was a pleasure to have around. The final result reflects the hard work and skill they brought to the project. Curt Sandberg installed hardwood floors in 6 rooms in my home. He was indispensable in selecting materials, color, fabricating some of the hardwood, moving around a great amount of furniture, installing the floors in an amazingly short period of time...all at a reasonable cost. We've used Sandberg's four times now, installing both laminate flooring as well as hardwood. Why? Curt and team were a pleasure to work with and the stair project came out just as I had envisioned. Curt accommodated my schedule to do the work while my family and I were out of the house and kept me up to date with photos of the progress. There was a slight blemish due to the way the glue dried in one area (not their fault) and the guys were back to fix it right away. The job involved color and texture matching prefinished treads and they did such a good job with that my only regret is not returning the prefinished treads and having them color match everything! I will be using Sandberg’s for all my future projects.

We started talking to Carl Sandberg and company back in October to get estimates on putting hardware flooring in the main parts of our 1960's mid century modern house. Out of 3 quotes we selected Sandberg's based on price and professionalism to setup the job. We were not living in the house at the time and were almost 2 hours away, so this posed some challenges for the installation. He had great communication and scheduling so things went off without a hitch and the end result was wonderful. I also want to point out that Sandberg's does ALL of the work from beginning to end, including staining and applying 3 coats of poly urethan if desired. Other quotes we got subbed this part of the job out to another company. I can't say enough about the completed job and how happy we are with the finished product. We had a few challenges where the new floor had to meet existing hardwood floors in the bedrooms and stairs, this was all transitioned perfectly and it is hard to tell the difference between the old floor and the #2 oak floors that we had installed.

Our hardwood floors are absolutely gorgeous! Curt and his team are professional and courteous and masters of their craft. The floors we had installed in our dining room needed to match existing hardwood in adjacent rooms and that they do. Curt's team mixed the stain onsite and no one would be the wiser that we did not use the same stain color in all the rooms. In addition to the dining room floors, they refinished our staircase which was badly damaged by carpet removers. We did not believe there was much hope for our damaged stairs but the team worked their magic and they are beautiful! The team was timely and efficient and completed the project within the estimated timeline. My husband and I can't say enough great things about Curt Sandberg and the crew who work for him. We started a few years back with Curt installing custom Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors in our family room and office. We loved them so much that we later followed up with him doing the same floors in our foyer, upstairs hallway/ landing, master bedroom and sitting room. We also had our front staircase and railings done to match. I was very picky when originally choosing what color cherry I wanted. I didn't want it too pink, too red or too grainy. Curt was phenomenal in working with us to come up with the exact shade that worked for our tastes, including showing the color as it would look as the floors aged naturally. Whether we were home or whether Curt needed to let himself in on certain days, never once did we question the security of our home. After looking for a period of time for the "right" company we hired Curt (Sandberg's Custom Hardwood Floors) because of his knowledge of all kinds of wood flooring and experience with radiant heating. He spent time meeting with us to explain the process he and his experienced crew would be going through to install our white oak hardwood floors. The estimate was returned promptly, detailed, and with patience as it was a large job for us to prepare for and make final decisions. It included a great room, dining area, kitchen, 2 hallways, mud/laundry room, powder room, and bedroom; an entire downstairs. The date was set, met and consecutively worked on until completion. The crew was consistent, set down to work in a timely fashion and knew the details of the job. They were a pleasure to have in our home. Most importantly they listened to any concerns/ questions we may have had and directed their attention to our requests or getting answers. Experience was great from design to completion. Work completed was herringbone inlay in dining room, floor in living room, sanded and refinished stairs and installed new balusters. Curt and his team were absolutely without a doubt fantastic. If we could give them more than 5 stars we would. They were upfront, professional, and very knowledgeable. We were renovating our kitchen and wanted to refinish our first floor hard wood flooring. We had new floors put over outdated marble tile in our family room. They blended the red oak, white oak, and new flooring that was put down seamlessly. It turned out beautifully. Curt also advised us on color choices and we were grateful for his advice. It turned out a beautiful espresso color which warmed up and grounded our bright kitchen. They also worked with us on keeping our runner going up the stairs and tried to work with us on price as the stairs were an add on to the project when we realized it was necessary. We can't wait to have him come back and refinish our second floor in a couple of years!

I hired him to refinish my scratched, stained oak hardwood floors with walnut inlay. When he came for the consultation he suggested a darker stain than what we had so the dark stains would not be as noticeable in case they couldn't be sanded away. When we came home after the floors were finished, we were blown away. I had no idea how beautiful they could actually look. He was able to sand away the stains anyway, but his suggestion of the darker stain was exactly the correct color for the floors. Both the oak and the walnut inlays look fantastic. I would call his service restoring rather than refinishing. He has a real gift for hardwood floors.

Sandberg Flooring did an excellent job extending the hardwood flooring from an existing foyer and hallway into our Great Room, Kitchen, and MBR. Even tho the hardwood in the foyer was 8 yrs old the match was flawless. The job was done on time and all expectations were met.

Curt actually refinished our floors after another company did a poor job staining and sanding them - most companies we interviewed said they would not touch the other company's mistakes and would not guarantee an outcome. Curt saw the same poor work done by the other company but assured us the floors would look great when he got done with them. Curt and his team did make the floors look beautiful again. He also installed hardwood runners on the staircase and installed flush air vents in the floor, all stained to match the floor. We have hired Curt Sandberg twice for hardwood flooring, both re-conditioning existing hardwoods and for laying new. Initally in a townhouse in PA and recently when we relocated back to PA from NC. We purchased a house built in the 1980’s that required extensive re-finishing of its original solid oak floors and decided to replace carpeted areas with new hardwood. Also, because we wished to have the potentially messy work done before moving in, Curt was able to accommodate our project into his existing schedule. He worked with us even though we were out of state when we started planning the project before closing on the house. To assist us pick the colors and look we wanted, he shipped wood samples to us and pictures while we were still at our old address. Once we were in the area he was able to provide numerous samples of available stains for the existing floors. The work itself included stripping/sanding and then staining and varnishing the floors in 6 rooms, followed by the removal of carpet and laying the new flooring in 3 bedrooms plus the staircase and hallway, including the installation of a new stair rail and wrought iron balusters. Partway through the project we added installation of new baseboards downstairs. The work started on time immediately after closing and was completed in approximately 3 weeks with no unexpected problems or delays. His crew was awesome and the house was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. Most importantly we are delighted with the final result, both re-finished and new floors alike, in terms of their close color-matching and the overall quality of the workmanship. For us it was well worth the expense as it has totally transformed the look and feel of the property. We plan to use Curt again to replace the tile floors in our kitchen and breakfast area with hardwoods when we complete our kitchen remodel. We would highly recommend Curt Sandberg and his team to anyone considering new hardwood floors or requiring a professional refinishing of existing ones.

Curt Sandberg is a real professional, he really knows hard wood floors. What I liked about the experience, was that he took into consideration my life style when choosing the finish and the color of my floors. I live on a farm and have three dogs, so alot of mud gets tracked in every day. The finish that he applied shows no dirt or muddy foot prints, He completed the job in a timely fashion and was very willing to make any adjustments that I requested.

Sandberg Custom Flooring just completed refinishing my first floor. They did an amazing job. Curt did a great job helping us to decide on the right stain. They used a material to fill in between the floors boards that had separated over the years, and they installed a moulding that is so much nicer than the standard shoe moulding. Curt promptly gave us an estimate to refinish the hardwood oak flooring in our home and explained in detail the differences between the finishes. We chose a natural matte finish and our hardwood floors are more beautiful than ever and the finish is professional and easy to clean. Curt Sandberg and his brother in law Kurt worked with me to turn our builder grade staircase into a thing of real beauty. They replaced the treads and landing with oak and replaced all of the balusters. All of the railings were refinished and the wood was all painted or finished with acrylic polyurethane. I had a price from another contractor of over $12,000. Sandberg's did it for less and they did a beautiful job. I am a commercial developer and I supervised $20 million dollars of construction this year. Sandberg is a small company and they out performed all of the 20 contractors on the big job.They did it just as I described how I wanted it. They were polite and neat.

We have hired Curt Sandberg and his crew to put hardwood floors in two homes. We couldn't be happier with the quality of their work. Curt is easy to talk to and will work with you to find exactly the wood and finish you are looking for. The timelines he gave were adhered to and work was done when scheduled. The crew is neat, respectful and hardworking. Our first project was putting in hardwood to match up with other rooms and have everything flow. The floors and stairs are beautiful. Our second project was a waterfront home. Because the home is on a slab and there is a lot of humidity, engineered wood was suggested. It was a challenging project and when Curt found some damp areas on the slab, he contacted us about resolving the problem before continuing the installation. We were grateful he stopped the project and didn't continue to lay the floor. We have recommended Curt to friends and will continue to do so.

Curt Sandberg and his team did a 5 star job on the floors in our new-to-us house. The house and hardwood floors are 50 years old, and they were damaged in some areas, pet stains throughout and all types of other issues that 50 years threw at them. In my mind, it would have been best to pull up the flooring and put all new flooring down (or carpet over them!). Not an option for Sandberg's Custom Hardwood Floors! They made these floors look amazing! The sections that they had to repair, blended in PERFECTLY! The stains throughout are gone! The look and feel of the rooms (because of the re-done floors) is warming and gorgeous. We have received many compliments from their work, and even from the previous owner, an 88 year old man, wondered why he did not redo the floors years ago! I would HIGHLY recommend them for your flooring work. They made old things new...and did so with professionalism and in a timely manner.

We love our new floors and are amazed at how good the old ones now look. We picked a very nice 5" R&Q Oak and covered it with oil based finish. Curt was very good at explaining all of the options and the rationale for different choices. They showed up when they said they would and got the work done very quickly. Working with Curt and his team of qualified professionals was a refreshing change during a long and complicated home remodel. We got a fair price up front and it was exactly what we paid in the end, even though we delayed getting the finish applied for quite some time. I used Sandberg's custom hardwood flooring. The hardwood hard to be cut in around our natural stone fireplace - it looks better than I thought it would be. They cleaned up when they were finished and the bill was as quoted. They will do more work for use!

I had water damaged hardwood floors refinished and new hardwood flooring installed in the family room (previously carpet). The service from Curt and all of his employees was outstanding. They were all knowledgeable and able to explain each step. The refinished and new floors were installed together and there is no visible difference. Quality materials and installation. In my opinion the hardwood floors are the most important part of the house and I vetted a lot of companies before choosing Sandberg's. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to anyone that takes pride in their home.

I spoke to four contractors and am so happy I went with Curt! Curt and his team converted my wall-wall carpeted staircase to a beautiful , custom-stained oak hardwood staircase. Plus, he also put in wrought iron spindles. It looks fantastic and it is a tremendous improvement! He also replaced the wall to wall carpet in my 2nd floor with hardwood which we love! Top Notch Work. The owner, Curt Sandberg, is extremely knowledgeable. We hired Sandberg's to do a second job a few months after the first one was completed, and we have already recommended them to someone else. The first job consisted of installing hardwood floors in two rooms, refinishing a set of steps & handrails, and installing cast iron balusters. The second project consisted of refinishing a set of handrails & cast iron balusters. I did a lot of research before selecting a contractor, and Sandberg's was hands down the best choice for this type of work.

Curt installed 1200 sq ft of bamboo in our condo back around 2004, and about 1300 sq ft of commercial grade laminate flooring in our house basement in 2008 (both over a concrete subfloor). He also came back to do a little fix for us this year (2014) for water damage. He is professional, neat, and does great work. Highly recommended!
