We have just finished a major upper-level renovation that included removal of all our carpeting from a winding stairway, hallway and three rooms, and replacing all of it with hardwood. The job also included a refinish of existing hardwood in one upper-level room, and ultimately resulted in a refinish of our very large kitchen floor, Suffice to say the end scope of the job far outweighed the beginning. Smith Bros were 100% professional from start to finish...Paul Smith came to my home and outlined the step-by-step procedure to take care of my kitchen floor in a very patient and clear manner...there was not one moment when I was made to feel like my questions were unnecessary or that as a layperson, I was taking up too much of their time (I find this kind of thing so often happens to consumers). The staff who worked in my home and created an absolute masterpiece of our hardwood floors were respectful of our dwelling, conscientious, punctual and took the utmost care to contain any mess they might make...they also explained each day what the next step would be and how the floors would look as the process moved forward. I literally have floors that remind me of artwork now! :-) We are thrilled with our results and would recommend Smith Bros to anyone considering hardwood flooring. 5 Stars..well done!

I hired Smith Bros. Floors to repair and refinish the hardwood floors in my circa 1960 home. The hardwood had been under carpet for 50 years, but had been badly damaged. The previous owner had put large screws right through the floors (and basement ceiling!) trying to stop the boards from creaking. Many boards were cracked beyond repair, while others had huge holes where the screws had been. The area by the front door had significant water damage, and a gap in the flooring where I had removed a pony wall. I was quite concerned the floor might not match because new wood had to be added in right beside the original wood. I had nothing to worry about; the "new wood" is identical to the original floor! | should mention that I arranged to have the work done while I was away for a few days for work (and my cat was at a kennel), so I needed to be able to be back in the house when I got back. The floors were repaired and sanded a couple of days before I left, but when I returned from the work trip my house was done (and spotless!). Now, 4 months later, I love my floors (and baseboards) just as much as that first day!
