I wish this company would stand behind their product. We purchased the Vintage Hand Scraped 5 inch hardwood floors in 2016. After the first year, we started to notice cracks in the boards where the knots are. We also have issues with stain rubbing off and stain between the boards coming off.
Had a rep over from Vintage for a site visit. Waste of time. The outcome based on their analysis was my dog and water damage which we only had water damage I front of our fridge which we never even brought up to the rep.
I guess my dog uses his claws and scratches all the joints and takes the stain off. Good one !

Hardwood floor spray cleaner is a great product. Cleans well without leaving streaks or residue. Easy to purchase on-line & ships quickly.

I will never purchase from this company. They sold us garbage product that is so fragile, a baby crawling on it will scratch it. Our house came with the engineered hardwood and we would have never installed this. When you buy solid hardwood, you will not worry about the finish peeling off like this fragile, defective product that have in our house. We have had solid hardwood in our previous house and even with a dog, and children on it, it still looked fabulous, always. This company will not admit that this product that they installed is very low grade quality as it peels and scratches so easily. They will make an excuse as that you had water damage as the floor look discoloured and there was abrasion. What abrasion? All I did it wash it!! They never contacted me once or came to look at it as I just sent them pictures. I would never buy from this company as long as I live!!! I don't know how they sleep at night?

Our wooden floor was installed almost 7 years ago when the house was built. Very quickly after moving in the floor started to peel. The installer has been to see the floor but suggested it is peeling because I wash the floor. This is very confusing to me as I have lived with wood floors my entire life and have never had this happen. There seems to be something wrong with the finish. Our house has a humidifier so this can not be the issue. I look forward to finding a quick solution as our house is about to be put on the market and we can not list until the floor has been fixed. The flooring installed was Hand Scraped Maple Character Pegasus Pearl.

I have been a vintage dealer for over ten years now and have had zero claims. There solid sawn series of products fit our northern Michigan climate very well. Floors are professionally milled and finishes are amazing

I installed vintage hand scrapped product on the main level of my house- Hickory. I thought I was installing a quality product but under my island where I have four counter stools it’s like the flooring stain is chipping away. I contacted to discuss and a rep came to my house however they say it’s not a warranty issue. A floor should not chip away with the movement of counter stools

We have a Vintage Jatoba hardwood Floor installed in our home since 2002 . It has performed very well over the last 14 years . It is easy to clean and looks great . We have had some minor minor dents scratches over the years and we used a Vintage Touch kit to hide them . We are very happy with the performance of this floor

An absolute nightmare, this company will find the consumer at fault before looking at any problems with their product. I was so happy with the type of flooring I ordered and hoped that I would later buy more to continue the Jatoba Harwood throughout the three levels of our house. It was more expensive than other flooring, but I was trying to find a Canadian company that appeared to have regard for the environment when harvesting the raw material.Within two weeks of the install, the floor immediately started to show cracks. I contacted my dealer here in Winnipeg, MB (The Floor Show). They came out twice then called Vintage Flooring who investigated the issue for the next two years. After two short, biased , and dismissive visits, Vintage disallowed my warranty based on an "unusual cold Winnipeg winter". The representative is also the sales rep for these floors, and was more concerned with the negative reviews they had received online than dealing with my floors. There is now a total of 110 planks of the 1271 square feet of flooring in place and the floor looks like a crackled mess.In addition, the floor has such a soft finish that it shows scratches and the the top urethane layer of the floor is starting to separate in some spots. These scratches are superficial and were caused due to the soft finishing layer of the floor. The coating appears to be separating in places where the planks have not been exposed to water, contrary to Vintages findings. The warranty was declined based on the company's assumption that the humidity in the house was below the suggested levels, even though low levels in the flooring was detected a year ago but still within their suggested range. I thought this would be an issue with exotic floors and cold arid conditions in Winnipeg but was reassured this would definately not be an problem. I was told to put in a humidifier prior to the floors being installed which I did. You would think that if you follow the manufacturer & dealers suggestion for care, there should be no problem. In any case, the low humidity was never confirmed at our house but just assumed to be a factor. The timing of the floor preparation at the factory is suspect in my opinion. We were told that there was a three months wait for the floor to be delivered since the raw material was not available. One week after, we were told that they suddenly did have enough floor to deliver to us for the entire house. They production process alone should take over two weeks. I believe that these floors were not adequately processed due to the short delivery time and that is why we have so many cracks and very poor urethane adhesion and protection of the wood.I do not believe that the warranty on these very expensive floors has ever been successfully challenged from conversations with the salesmen. It appears that the homeowner has always been blamed when it comes to trouble with the floors and no claim has been paid.I have contacted the BBB to try to deal with this situation but have had no response from Vintage Flooring to date. The Dealer "the Home Show" no longer promotes the Vintage flooring, but they are not taking any responsibility for the handling of my concerns. To top it off, the company has "updated" their warranty to be more restricted and noted that all products will be reviewed under this warranty regardless of when the floor was purchased. Yes, this was done without disclosure to us who had out in a claim prior to the effective date of the Warranty.I would ask you seriously reconsider purchasing from a Vintage and save yourself a lot of heartache.

Comment from Vintage Hardwood Flooring:
We are unhappy when customers experience disappointment with our floors.
We know about your situation and attempts to resolve this issue with our customer, The Floor Show.
Winters in Canada can create very dry conditions in the home. Any floors exposed to less than 25% relative humidity for an extended period of time, will experience stress. Very hard exotic species like your Jatoba floor are especially vulnerable to stress cracks in extreme dry condition. It is for this reason that we state clearly in our warranty to maintain humidity controls in home above 25%. Our warranty also states that damage due to water or sharp objects is not covered.
We are in discussion with The Floor Show on resolving your claim and will be in contact you very shortly.
Sincerely,
Vintage Hardwood Flooring
