“Our old aluminum windows completely crapped out on us this winter. Our area had bitter cold and an inversion that added a lot of humidity to the air. As result, our windows accumulated ice on the INSIDE, so thick that I would have to chip it off every morning. The ice blocks were creating mold, and causing damage to our window frames and carpet, so I knew we had to get them all replaced. I called Wood Windows and explained my issue and Connell came out the next day to give me a quote. They just finished installing all of our windows yesterday. In sum: 1) They did exactly what they said they would do 2) There were no surprises along the way or additional charges 3) The carpenters were awesome and friendly, I even baked our guy cupcakes, that's how much I liked him 4) The windows look amazing and I can already tell the difference in heat control and the added sound protection 5) They spent at least an hour every night just cleaning up after themselves and by the time they were done there was no trace that they had ever been there (well, besides shiny new windows that is) 6) Their price was $2,000 less than the other guys, and they gave me everything in writing so I could run it by my dad. The Home Depot guy wouldn't even give me anything in writing; I had to take notes on a piece of paper and dig just to see what services were covered (FYI, putting the trim back on is not covered in their “quote”, and it was an extra $1500, that’s kind of a big deal). 7) I got to choose a paint color and Wood Windows painted all the trim for me, so not only do I have nice new windows but now I have new trim that really makes them stand out. It killed me a little to drop $10k but we definitely made the right decision with this company. No regrets.”

“I had Skylight Specialists replace four operable (leaking) skylights over a year ago. Their estimate was far less than several others I also considered. They recommended the inoperable skylights because I hardly ever opened the 18 year old ones anyway. They also recommended buying new ones as opposed to repairing the installation parts of the old ones that were what was leaking. They explained that for just a little more money (an additional $2000 I would get new inoperable skylights with a great warranty rather than reinstalling the old ones that they could only warrant the installation but not the almost worn out old ones. I agreed with their evaluation, realizing that I'd probably have at least one of the old skylights fail and need replaced within 3-5 years and would pay enough at that time to replace the old one to be even with what they wreaking me to spend for all new ones at that present time and... I would still have three old worn out skylights to worry about leaking and requiring replacement!! Skylight Specialists installed all four in less than a day, gave me a great written warranty and a great price, and best... they haven't leaked a drop! I'm very happy with Skylight Specialists, would readily use their services again and highly recommend them to whoever is looking! Tom S.”
