Activated Decor Inc.

We bought a cabinet and lift from Activated Décor almost 5 years ago. The cabinet was one of their existing designs, but we had it modified to be a shorter profile. We had problems from the beginning, including having to reconfigure the interior of the cabinet so the lift/cabinet would properly fit our TV (for which they had the dimensions). The cabinet was “OK” – for the price I expected better finish work on the exterior of the cabinet. The lift worked OK. I would not recommend a swivel lift inside a cabinet because it cannot be mounted like non swivel lifts, and it caused the top of the cabinet to shift and was not consistent in position when the lift retracted back into the cabinet. Though we had occasional problems with the lift throughout the last 5 years, it stopped working completely after about 4 years (within the 5-year warranty). Though the errors pointed to the motor in the lift, Jerry insisted on “troubleshooting” the problem to the point of having us ship (at our cost) the power supply and controller back to him from the US. Our lift was out of service for months. Finally, Jerry conceded and shipped a new lift to us to replace the one in the cabinet. And though he made the cabinet and had all the dimensions, the new lift was too tall to fit in our cabinet. Though his responsiveness throughout our ownership at times was slow, he stopped responding completely since we told him the lift he sent did not fit. We ended up buying a lift online ourselves, installed it and it works. Bottom line, we would not recommend Activated Décor, especially if you do not live in Canada. The product quality is mediocre, and the customer service is not to the level that we all expect to address issues with their product.

Dealing with Activated Decor has been the worst experience we've had in years. Once Jerry charged our credit card he disappeared and has not returned our pone calls or e-mails. We would never recommend Activated Decor to anyone.
