About Us

Golden Coast Burls produces custom, handcrafted furniture for your home and business. Our speciality is “live edge” work that honors the natural lines and coloration of the wood varietals that we work with. We also specialize in more conventional furniture design. If you have an idea for a custom piece we are happy to help actualize your vision. Some of the products we produce: -Table tops; dining, accent, sofa, console, and coffee (live edge and conventional) -Mantles and shelving (live edge and conventional) -Counter tops (live edge) -Bar tops (live edge) -Reception Desks (live edge and conventional) Through our partnership with 8 Billion Trees, we aim to proactively combat global deforestation by planting 10 trees for every piece sold. Beyond this partnership, we strive to assure that a vast majority of our pieces are produced from recycled and reclaimed sources. Ultimately, our vision is to not only bring natural inspiration and beauty into your home and workspace but to also preserve our planets’ finite resources by promoting action in the battle against deforestation and climate change. We hope that our work brings allure and elegance into your space, that of which only mother nature is capable of.

Robert helped bring a passion project to fruition. He took my parents' 1970's redwood table - that was beautiful but a beast - and turned it into 3 smaller tables so each sister could have a piece of our childhood in our adult homes. He was gracious and accommodating, knowing that we were emptying my mom's house after her passing and trying to hang on to a piece of our family history. He was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend his business.

Robbie Golden was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, reliable and did exactly what I asked. The installation took longer than expected but he stayed to make sure every detail was done correctly. I have been looking for Burlwood end tables to match my 40 year old Burlwood coffee table. I came across Golden Coast Burls and found Robbie. As a retired Building inspector I look for Quality. I bought 3 end tables and had him refinishes my coffee table. He did a fantastic job and decided to have him make a fireplace mantel. Everything came out beautiful. I highly recommend Robbie. I came across Golden Coast Burls as another local in Santa Barbara and fell in love with their take on live edge pieces. The artistic craftsmanship met with their sustainable philosophy can warm a home or office with not just luxury but also environmental consciousness. The first project I approached Robby with was a more unconventional one for his business as it was refurbishing an old live-edge piece I already owned. The piece was old, dull, and slightly banged up but was meaningful to me so I didn't want to part with it. Robby was super helpful in taking on the project as he was friendly, communicative, and saw more in the piece than there even was to start. When getting the piece back, I was shocked to see the vibrant color restored to the natural wood. It looks better now than when I bought it years ago. This was just my first experience with Golden Coast Burls and I'm excited for the next. I would recommend Robby's fine workmanship to anyone.

The table hand-crafted by Golden Coast Burls is beautiful as well as sturdy and well-made. Robby Golden was great to work with. He provided measurements and was patient as I tried to decide which among a few options would work best for me. Clear, easy to follow directions to assemble and maintain the table were provided. An added bonus was that new trees were planted and existing trees were conserved as a result of purchasing the table.

In an attempt to reach out and connect with local artisans and furniture makers in Santa Barbara, I was fortunate to have met Robby of Golden Coast Burls. We have now developed a successful client/vendor relationship. Robby has come through with every request. He is honest, talented, cordial and passionate about his work. Recently he took on the task of revamping a family heirloom. The table is being passed onto my daughter, yet with age and improper care it was in a dilapidated state. He picked up the table and within weeks returned a piece that is now a work of art. It is now restored and preserved to remain in the family for multiple generations. Thank you Robby for finding the passion within yourself to create beautiful pieces from a raw gift of nature.
