We received your order on December 12th thru our website. We were having an inventory reduction sale on items that were in stock to try to lean down inventory before the end of the year. The item you ordered was listed on sale – quantity 1 available - but your order came over for 2 of them. We decided to honor the sale pricing on the additional unit and order another in for your order. We then sent you an email “Your order was received on 12-Dec-2017. Your Reference Number is: 143473. The items that you ordered and their expected ship dates are listed below. (2) (CS) Antique Gray Corbel Lamp Expected Ship Date: 20-Dec-2017” and we placed an order with the manufacturer for the additional lamp. It is normally up to a 3 week ship time as listed on the website but the manufacturer had been rushing for Christmas orders so we thought we could get it for you in time. Unfortunately, we were then notified by the manufacturer that they would be unable to ship the item as it had sold out and their next shipment would not be in until January. We then emailed you an order update that your shipment would be delayed and gave you an expected ship date of January 19th. Phones were crazy at that time and we were a bit shorthanded because of the flu, but were also answering emails and calls as quickly as we could. We received the email that you would like to cancel the order which we did and promptly and refunded you immediately. (The only reason you had been charged already is that you used paypal and they charge the card when the order is placed. When a credit card is used we do not charge it until the order ships.)
Long story short we are sorry that we were unable to ship the item to you in a timely manner, as was our intention, and we apologize, but we are happy that you were able to find a deal on the corbels and it all worked out in the end.
Unfortunately, we are not a quick ship source - Our goal since we started the company in 1999 is to offer as many unique iron and metal items as possible. So with over 5000 items online coming from 70 different manufacturers we do not have everything listed on our website in stock. We have always felt that offering a wider selection is the advantage of being online and that having that selection to choose from is worth having to wait a little longer to get it.
