Working with design consultant Tatiana McVaugh made purchasing a sofa bed from Joybird a great experience.
First, she helped me when I came to the store. Not only was she extremely friendly, but she also provided important product information that allowed me to better understand the product and make an informed decision. For example, she explained what fabrics are more pet friendly than others (a critical concern given that I have a cat); she provided information about dimensions; and she offered information about available mattress choices.
Second, Tatiana was super helpful when I returned to the store about 15 minutes later to ask to exchange the sofa bed that I had just purchased with a different model. I had intended to purchase a Braxton but accidentally purchased a Briar. She took ownership of the issue and made the exchange very smooth!
I would recommend Tatiana and Joybird to others!

Vanessa Romero at the DTLA store was amazing!! I gave the store a call the day before going to inquire about some of the styles being displayed, and Vanessa answered the phone. She was genuinely helpful, took her time going to check, and made suggestions pre-visit.
The following day we walked in, we didn't know it was her who I had spoken to but then we realized based on mentioning the call and our needs. She took her time showing us the equivalent of what was on the floor to what we wanted that was only online. She walked us through measurements, swatches (we have 2 dogs so she knew exactly what to suggest and gave us samples to take home for our girls to try out), matching rugs, and tv consoles. The entire experience was inspiring and stress-free, not once did we feel pressured to buy on the spot and make a choice on the whim. We ended up purchasing the next day based on her suggestions and we're soooo excited for our order.
Joybird has more than couches, more than boring traditional colors, and a beautiful space for you to try out their pieces (in addition to witnessing their awesome colors in person). Highly recommend!

I haven't received my item yet but ordering it was easy. I read positive reviews about the comfort of joy, birds, sleeper sofa. I was looking for a sleeper sofa for my second bedroom for guests. Only disappointment was it won't come until January.

Haven at the San Francisco showroom was an excellent support as we selected our couch choices. We had size restrictions for our room and had to run several different size options to figure out what would work best for our space. Did you know they make twin size pull-out couches? That is a perfect addition to our space. She worked with us patiently and allowed us time to leave and deliberate before we came back to make our decision. We are very happy with our choices and excited for our order to come!
They told us that the delivery folks will set up the couches for us and take away all the boxes!

Wow!!! Amazing experience! From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed. Eleven was so patient with us and answered all of our questions. We were able to order our custom sleeper sectional sofa. Gorgeous cloth options and with 3 pets sometimes we don’t have as many fabric options but not at joybird so many colors and option that are pet friendly. Financing was available through affirm. The delivery set up was so easy! I’m ready for a store to open here in houston as well please!

Partner and I stopped by to check out the shop. We were warmly greeted upon entering by Kayla who was there to answer our questions but without hovering over us. We ended up ordering a sofa, bookcase and shelf for now but will probably add a media console and a second bookcase in the near future. Kayla was informative, accommodating, helpful and very nice. We have been waiting to buy a sofa after choosing one at the Brooklyn store. That was four years ago! Our video chat with Lizzy helped us through the ordering process of the sofa and two ottomans! Love the swatch kit. Everything is as promised. One tip…delivery dates aren’t firm as the vendor who delivers ( especially in smaller markets) schedules so that it works for them. You may need to wait an extra week or two like we did because we live in a northern ( 1 hour south of Canada) town.

I went into the SF store on Chestnut to try out the couch I had already selected online. In 2019, I bought the Eliot sleeper sofa sectional as well as the Eliot sleeper sofa love seat in pet friendly grayish material. These have been used in our short term rental that had an occupancy rate of about 80% since the couches arrived. The beds are of reasonable comfort and the couches themselves show incredibly minimal signs of wear. The seating is comfortable and, mix well into most any design scheme styling. These sofas have performed so exceedingly well, we just purchased a custom colored Eliot sleeper sofa with storage to be delivered to our stylish, high-rise condo we just purchased in downtown Kansas City, MO.
My only wish is replacement mattresses for the sofas could be purchased, and, to what I've heard from Joybird, they cannot.

Get the swatch kit, don't go off of pictures
Made the mistake of ordering without the swatch kit and went off of pictures on the website. Color ended up being very different than website. Reached out to customer service several times, each time it felt like they were just blowing me off. They admitted that their pictures on the website weren't accurate. Only option was to pay to ship it back with a 25% restocking fee. They wouldn't even give me a discount on the slip covers. The couch is comfortable but my interaction with customer service was so bad I would never buy from this company again. The latching mechanism that holds the modules together also doesn't work very well. I ultimately regret this purchase.

It looked so pretty but when I finally hot it I was disappointed.. It is a twin couch. The mattress is so hard but the couch is harder. The pillows are scratchy and the arms have no cushion. There are threads both coral and black sticking out all over. The delivery was late as well, no call no show. And I do have photos. I have one week in and this couch has to go! I am upset that I have to pay a restocking fee.

I purchased a sectional couch and within 9 months a section was falling apart at the seams. After much back and forth, 4 months later I received a replacement section. 4 months later that section was falling apart at the seams. Joybird refused to replace it as they said the warranty had expired. They would not warranty their own replacement piece because it was 1 year after I purchased it. Seriously, who buys a couch hoping that it will only last one year? I also paid them for the extended warranty, but that apparently doesn't cover anything unless your dog eats your entire couch.
Expensive furniture that only lasts 9 months. Forget Joybird.

We purchased a sofa from Joybird in 2016. For the first few years we didn’t use the sofa much and it initially held up well. We constantly received compliments on how gorgeous the sofa is. Because of how pleased I was aesthetically, I overlooked a few annoyances, like how the seat cushions would never stay in place, how the fabric (a velvet with an S cleaning code) would spot stain from just a drop of water, and how the fabric color varied a bit on some of the cushions. We have dogs and a cat, and the fabric we chose was great for cleaning up pet hair (it vacuumed off easily) and the cat never left a scratch on it. We’ve had the couch almost seven years now and in the past two years, the seams on every side of every single bottom cushion have split and frayed, and the seams along the front no longer align with the shape of the foam. The cushions also stick out beyond the frame of the sofa no matter how much I adjust them. The frame has held up great so I am debating if I want to reupholster the sofa and get new foam for the seat cushions - which is almost the cost of buying a new sofa. Maybe seven years is the best you can hope to get out of a sofa purchased for everyday use - IDK. I would have hoped to get at least 10, as it is just my husband and I using it and only for sitting. I would hesitate before purchasing a sofa from Joybird again - mostly because of the fabric issues. Aesthetically their sofas are beautiful - until the fabric comes apart. And when purchasing any sofa in the future I will never buy a fabric with an S cleaning rating again (which means no water-based cleaners/dry clean only).

I purchased a Hughes Reversable Section at the end of April. We are two adults, no kids or pets, and less than a year in the sofa looks 10 years old. The quality is horrible. I can see after reading reviewed this is an ongoing problem with quality. I have the highest warranty and Joybird will not honor it. This comapny does not stand behind their products! Do not get scammed like I did! I tried to update the photo of my original review when the couch was brand new with what this looks like after less than a year and you can not. This comapny does not want to show the quality of their products! Don’t get scammed like I did out of almost 4K!

I purchased a sectional sofa with chaise from Joybird with performance fabric, the holt sectional. 3 months in and the couch looks like we have had it for 10 years. Pilling on fabric, misshapen cushions-it's just not holding up well at all. I reached out re: pilling and they offered to send me a fabric shaver and that pilling is expected and does not mean the fabric is defective! it's disappointing that I will likely need to purchase another couch soon and with how it is holding up, I imagine this will need to be within a year if not earlier. I expected this couch to last 5+ years, especially with the price. I do not recommend Joybird and will not purchase from them again.

After purchasing the Korver swivel chair (bentley daisy) and Chelsea sofa (Plush Terra rose) last year, I was stumped on rug colour! After numerous "fails" from other stores we finally went back to Joybird (no idea why I hadn't done that to begin with). Through the 'chat' feature on their website, I took a picture of my living room and was presented with a few options. The discusion was in real time and within an hour I decided on the Mio Rug! The rug is super soft, and after a year the sofa and chair are still very comfortable and sturdy, well-designed!

Worst couch we have ever had: lasted less 6 months. Pilled, itching, no padding, creaks, stuffing gone and stitching pulled loose. We are two adults who are rarely home. Couldn't even give it away to local college students - ended up throwing it away at one year. Photo taken at less than 5 months of almost no use.

We ordered a coffee table and a piece of wall art. They were “lost”, allegedly by the delivery service. Inexplicably, the wall art was re-ordered and was delivered by UPS. The canvas was not appropriately stretched over the base and was bunched up in the corner of the frame.
I was told that I could not exchange this piece. I had to return it and pay again for a replacement. Refunds apparently take up to three weeks. The Wick coffee table was delivered nearly a month after the promised date and was falling apart. Even with the poor workmanship, it was delivered without hardware to attach the top to the base. The delivery service took it away. They shared that customers are generally displeased with their Joybird products.
Customer service is a nightmare. The people who answer the phone are not empowered to do anything. I was told that it would take up to three weeks to get a refund. A customer can request a manager call back but there is a 2 to 3 day delay. My experience was that the managers do nothing. I will never order from Joybird again.
I had a great experience with this company before they were acquired. Apparently, things have changed. I asked for an address for the corporate office and was told that would not be shared. Avoid Joybird!

Wish there was an option for zero or negative rating. We placed an order and after a month when we reached out asking for status, that we were told they didn't start building for all the 3 items because 1 of the item in the order had back-ordered raw material. Then they suggested splitting the order into 2, I again reached out after a week asking for the status and new eta, then they told even after splitting they can't start the build because the new order with 2 items has 1 item with missing raw material, never experienced such poor communication. At the time of order the timeline was 4 weeks and even today when I look for the same product on their website, it says 4 weeks but the new eta for our item as per their email is 10 weeks, so fishy. Never had such a bad customer experience. There have been delays across all the businesses but they failed to communicate, would have informed them about order splitting and delivery timeline at the beginning itself. Extremely disappointment. By the way, we had purchased items worth $12K+.

Do NOT order from this company. We ordered a bed from them in February. They cancelled the delivery the day of. We had to cancel the order and REorder. The bed was then sent with instructions and hardware for a BOOKSHELF. I've been on the phone with THREE customer service reps in the past week and a half. The first told me the hardware was being sent. The second told me the parts were being "sourced" and would then be sent. The third told me the parts were STILL being sourced. In order to speak with management I was told I had to be put in a queue and it would take 48 - 72 hours FOR SOMEONE TO GET BACK TO ME. This is on an order that cost $2000. Joybird has the WORST customer service experience I've ever experienced. They can't actually help the customer. DO NOT BUY from them.

When I contacted them first told me there was nothing they could do and then sent me to a repair shop at my own cost. Contacted the repair shop and the chair cant be repaired.

We were told the furniture we ordered was in stock and would ship in a couple of weeks so we didn't mind paying up front like they require unlike any other furniture company. More like MONTHS. The customer service eventually admitted to us that the website says in stock despite not being in stock all the time. And, when we asked for a refund shortly into this process given that they lied to us about them being in stock, they told us their system didn't work that way and we have to wait until we receive the furniture to start the process of a refund. Also if they say they will look into something and get back to you, they will never get back to you. I was told this so many times despite a complete lack of follow up. Further, contacting their customer service requires a lot of time given their long hold times and inconvenient schedule. The delivery teams they use are subpar. They lost our bed... and then after rescheduling its delivery for us days later they just did not show up and never contacted us. So waited around all day to see if it would come. It didn't. It is also literally impossible to get in touch with the delivery team as they don't pick up their phone and it goes to a full mail box. We ended up getting 2 of the 3 pieces of furniture we ordered after painful months of contacting them over and over for any information at all. The sofa and table are fine - I would return them truthfully given the quality is lacking for the price paid but I cannot imagine how painful that process would be with Joybird so I will just keep the furniture that actually made it here. The piece that was lost was a bed. Finally they agreed to just give us a refund months after the supposed in stock delivery date. Still waiting on this refund- been more than 10 days. If we get the refund, I guess we are lucky as we can shop else where and not have to sleep on a piece of joybird furniture.

The worst quality piece of furniture I have ever owned. The cushions wear out after a year. They loose their shape and become very saggy. I contacted Joybird and they offered to sell me additional poor quality cushions. No thanks. One is also a replacement cushion because the one shipped with the sofa had the zipper on the top, not the side, of the cushion and was ripped. They also had to replace the ottoman upon delivery because it was so misshapen. The customer service is condescending and unhelpful. Save your money.

After a pleasant experience with the designer at Joybird, we purchase a bedroom set and a living room set in February 2022. Since then, we received the bedroom set with missing pieces - the wrong pieces were delivered twice - they decided to send the whole set and take back the set we received prior - and then on the day they were supposed to send the new bedroom set, they called to say they couldn't find it in the warehouse and that it wouldn't be delivered. They also had no insight into the delivery for the living room order we placed, even though we received a delivery confirmation date. Customer service is robotic at best. I wish we could go back in time and never have ordered from Joybird.

I would never try ordering from Joybird again. Months ago, I ordered a beautiful chair and ottoman for my office. The delivery date kept getting pushed back again and again, but I waited patiently. Finally delivery day came--I was so excited to finally get my furniture!
Well both the chair and the ottoman were not level. Not even close. The legs were not the same length. There was no way to adjust them. Joybird does not answer their phones, so there was no way to contact them to make a plan. The delivery guys looked baffled and took the furniture away. It was a huge waste of everybody's time.
After tweeting at Joybird, I was able to get a refund. I appreciate how promptly they issued my refund. However, quality control seems to be missing entirely. My sister ordered a bed and a sofa from Joybird around the same time I ordered my furniture. Both items came broken or missing pieces. She is still waiting for these things to get fixed/replaced. I have yet to hear of someone getting a Joybird delivery without major problems. I don't understand how they remain in business.
Joybird, your stuff is so cute. The public wants to love you. What are you doing?!

STAY AWAY. Bought some velvet throw pillows during the Black Friday sale to give Joybird a test drive since their reviews were iffy, the website indicated that would be shipped within 10-14 days. Long story short, the pillows arrived two months later, thrown into a wet, warped and torn cardboard box. Inaccurate shipping information, poor communication, no plastic wrapping the pillows. This company needs to divert their advertising dollars into building up their processes and infrastructure.

I only received 2/3 of my couch when it was supposed to deliver. The other piece, was the complete wrong color; which they tried to leave anyway. Now, I’ve been waiting for 3 months for the other piece. Where is it? It must have existed at some point! And worse, their customer service will hardly lift a hand to help. Constantly changing expected delivery dates. Trust the bad reviews here. You couldn’t pay me to work with them again.

So far I can only give one star. First time purchasing furniture online. I loved the way it looks in the pictures and decided to give it a go. Ordered December 9, 2021, requesting swatches to pick fabric for the Hughes grand sofa and 2 Korver chairs. I was told to hurry in picking the color to finalize order. Swatches came within a week-ish. Color picked within a few days, so mid-December order was finalized. Furniture expected to come mid-February. In January I follow up on the order and noticed that delivery date got pushed to April, without explanation. Reached out to company, who told me that it's due to the fabric I chose for the Korver chairs. If I pick a different fabric, they'll keep the original delivery date. Fine. New fabric picked and delivery date kept. Received an email on January 21 saying my order is in final stages of production. Yay! Waiting for notification that it shipped. Nothing happened, and with delivery window of February 15-20 looming around, I reached out again February 8, because there was no other communication from them. Get a response the following day telling me that unfortunately the Korver chair bases are experiencing supply chain problems. WHAAAAT??!! I received an email that my furniture was in final stages of production 3 weeks ago, so obviously not true. Looked at their website and could apparently order the same Korver chairs and have them either delivered to me in 2 weeks on "ready to ship" color, or in 4 weeks for most of the rest of them (with a few that extended past 4 weeks to deliver). False advertising? Sounds fishy to me. Mention that to company. They adjusted their website and took down the option of the one ready to ship color, and told me to make sure I check the zip code for delivery on my end. Trying to say I'm stupid? As of today, according to their website I could still order the same couch and chairs and have them delivered in 4 weeks. But I can't get mine until the end of April. Based on other reviews, I'm concerned that April will come and go and we will still have no furniture in our new living room. Save yourself the hassle and look for furniture elsewhere. Based on other reviews below it sounds like I'm also "in for a treat" with quality issues. Oh, boy!

I bought a coffee table from Joybird and I've been using it for over a month, and the surface is already bubbling! This never happened in the last 3 years of my $50 Ikea coffee table! Contacted customer service, told me that this item is in clearance when I bought it so they can't do anything. A $600+ piece of furniture that can last for a month is a pure robbery. Save your money! Terrible experience. Really regret doing business with them. They are deceptive with their practices and seem to lack any basic controls. I bought (tried to buy) 2 pieces in November. Website promised a Dec 9-16 window. That is why I went with them instead of other alternatives. That was just deception. A form of fraud. Using deception take money. Dec 9-16 came and went. One inquiry by email was responded to but as every promised time came and went, they stopped responding to my emails. A phone call to confirm he company was eventually answered with promises to investigate and get back with me. Of course I knew I was being lied to and no, they never got back to me. Website still says it is supposed to be delivered in December with no update. They now have ignored all of my inquiries since they missed the Early Dec date. I have ordered from many of the other online alternatives and they have been flawless. This is beyond words. Obviously, I will have to challenge the charges with my credit card company.

I placed an order for Black Friday on Wednesday right before Thanksgiving. Later that day, my dog tore her ACL that requires 5,000$ surgery to fix. The same day I tried to cancel my order but the phone lines were already closed, then of course it was thanksgiving. I placed an online contact us request to cancel just part of my order but received an email on Sunday stating they would cancel my entire order for a cancellation fee as the order was already being processed.
It seems there was a delay due to the online contact us. I was hoping this company would have some empathy in the holidays but I guess not. Clearly I choose my dog over a couch, but this sucks.

I called customer service and I was again told that they would be contacting the shipping depart to confirm the return then process my refund and that I would be contacted within 48 hours. We thought the fact that Joybird’s parent company is La-Z-Boy would mean good customer service and quality products. Not so. We placed a large order for living room furniture in February and were told to expect delivery in 8-12 weeks. Although their website continues to advertise a production lead time of 4-8 weeks plus 7-14 days delivery, ours arrived nearly 7 months later. The promised “white glove delivery” almost consisted of hauling the boxed furniture into our living room and leaving until I insisted that it be unboxed so I could see that what was delivered was what I ordered. Then they wanted to leave the truckload of cardboard and packing materials behind. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised.
Not once did anyone from Joybird initiate communication to advise of delays or provide satisfactory reasons for their failure to deliver our furniture in a timely manner. All correspondence was initiated by me and it took 5-7 days on average to receive a reply. We received conflicting information from customer service and our “dashboard” was never an accurate reflection of reality.
We are pleased with the mid-century modern appearance of our new furniture although the seating is VERY firm, there were many loose threads and puckered seams. The backs of the sofa and chaise do not line up. We can only hope that the furniture holds up better than others have experienced.

I ordered two beds from Joybird and it’s been a horrible experience. They arrived damaged and dirty because the delivery company Joybird uses unboxed all of my furniture and had it tossed in the back of a moving truck and it was pouring down raining when delivered. I reached out to Joybird to share the issue and waited three days for a response of we can have someone come to fix it and clean it. So I had to take off work again to have one of the brand new beds cleaned and fixed all while I did not have a bed for months. The other bed was severely damaged so I had to take off work to have them come back to pick it up and refund me. This has been going on for months and today they actually offered me a gift card for my hassle as if I’m ever shopping here again. Also they blocked my reviews on their site. Please not that five years ago I bought another bed, couch, and ottomans from Joybird and they had better products, a great delivery company, and customer support that I raved about so much that tiger family members bought furniture from them. They have changed for the bad since then.

Doors are warped, magnets which attach the doors to the body of the sideboard were set too far back for the doors to close. Put in a warranty request and only by MAY 18 did the warranty guy show up. He further damaged the sideboard, and now I likely cannot return it (oh, and don't forget the 10% restocking fee). They have HORRIBLE customer service - NO ONE answers their phones, and I get an email MAYBE once a week probably from a bot.

Terrible customer service. You cannot talk to anyone unless you are starting out buying. Once you purchase, the experience goes south. After 4 months of wear, my couch is covered with fabric pills. It is unacceptable wear. Joybird told me that their fabric is high quality and pilling is mot covered under warranty. So why is it pulling? Well, according to Joybird, I should shave me couch with a fabric shaver that I could buy myself on Amazon. Oh and I should not use a throw blanket. No one answers the phone to help and response time on emails and phone calls is at least 7 business days. When I asked to talk to a manager they said the fabric pilling is not covered under warranty and he would do nothing. Basically it was our fault for using the couch and a throw blanket.

Hi Amy, fabric pilling is natural and happens to a variety of fabrics that receive standard to heavy use. In no way does it diminish the quality of the fabric and a fabric shaver would fix the issue. This is a matter of maintenance, another example would be a flat pillow. If the pillow is flat it doesn't mean there is an issue it just needs to be fluffed and primped in order to give it back its shape.

When it arrived, the color was not what we expected. We are going on nearly 6 months of trying to get our money back after we returned the couch.

I had a family member sit on a new Arly ottoman that I purchased from Joybird. Joybird’s response to my concern that it tipped her over was that it wasn’t “designed to be sat on” so basically tough luck, the 90 day return window ended last month. The Arly ottoman looks like a little stool but the cushion is too soft and isn’t safe to have around where someone might sit on it.

Bought almost 10K worth of furniture from them last year and had some of the same problems with delays that others have discussed here but in the end everything showed up and was fine. I ordered a new Love Seat to match some chairs I had from them and it showed up on time but the first time I sat on it it fell apart, literally. Both side of the wooden frame fell away from the couch. Upon inspection the Love Seat parts were never even glued together, just test assembled to make sure everything fit and then shipped. Also, the wood they use now is very sub standard, not the same wood they used to build the matching chairs and substantially lighter and weaker. It's not a hardwood but more like the rubber wood they use to build furniture in Malaysia and Vietnam (which I'm beginning to suspect this is where the furniture came from). I contacted JOYBIRD 3 TIMES NOW, sent multiple photos of the damaged cheap furniture and I have gotten ONE response in 3 weeks with a link to a broken page on their site to file a complaint and that's it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS SITE. There are plenty of other online furniture companies that are creating much better pieces at much more affordable prices and who will answer you if you contact them.
This could be a much better company if they could at least PRETEND to care about their customers and the products they produce.

Ordered a couch August 24 which was set to arrive by October 3 at the latest. We were not notified until reaching out the week after that it is set to ship by October 23. We have still yet to get updates. I would not have purchased a couch from then if this was going to be the case.

I have many pieces from Joybird, including two chairs, two standing lamps, wall art and a sectional sofa. After 4 years of owning the sectional, I'm not happy with the everyday wear quality. Oddly, I can't really speak to the quality of the chairs -- they're in my "formal" living space where people rarely sit, so they just don't take enough use to get a good read on.
I will say the sectional is very good looking, and exactly what I thought it would be. It's also reasonably comfortable, especially for the slim lines of the design. But it's only been 4 years, and the piping along the BACK of the sofa (which would take absolutely no wear) is starting to unravel. A piece of piping along one of the cushions has also started to poke through. And the point at which the sofa meets the chaise is not attached toward the top, and it moves far too easily; I never sit there and always worry when a guest is seated in that spot that it will break.
When I first purchased these products from Joybird, I thought the customer service was excellent. However, when confronted with these complaints after warranty ran out, they only offered to sell me replacement cushions. I understand where they are coming from, but I would also say that quality shows in how a product wears. After $2500, 4 years is simply far too short a period of time for issues like this to show with no remedy.
I would not recommend a purchase from the company for an everyday use item.

I ordered a Joybird chair in July and was very excited. Delivery was promised by early September. It’s now October 10 and my chair finally arrived today. AND THE LEGS WERE BROKEN.
Now, it’s impossible to get anyone to answer the phone and they are not being responsive. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Very, very disappointed in this.

I am annoyed that I even have to waste my time writing this.
I ordered one of the quick ship Lewis sectionals that were in stock. The shipment arrived on the date and time it was supposed to. I asked the delivery team to leave the couch outside because of COVID (I have a baby and two eldery people at home). When we opened the wrapping to bring it inside, we immediately noticed that the couch was torn, dirty and definitely used. Not just lightly used, VERY VERY used. Upon closer inspection, I found like 50 HAIRSSSSSS(???!??!?!) of different colors and lengths in it. There were also paint chips, dust and a nail (wtf) underneath the cushion. DISGUSTING
I called Joybird immediately and they had customer service call me back. I asked them for a refund and to come pick up the couch as I am not bringing this dirty piece of junk into my home.
However, they said they cannot send anyone until Monday and can only start the process once they get possession of the item. Really?? I told the customer service rep that I will leave the couch outside as I am not bringing that crap inside. After seeing all the reviews in multiple places, I really really do not understand how this place is still in business.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE. TRUST THE REVIEWS.

Joybird has been BY FAR the worst customer service experience I have EVER had. The reviews on their website are HEAVILY filtered, I feel misled. I should have done my proper due diligence, but their marketing led me to believe they were a reputable company that I could trust. Boy was I wrong! I really don't understand how a company like this can survive this long, with such a track record for horrible customer service. Calls ignored, emails ignored, promises made and broken... a complete lack of logistic awareness. Months and Months of "We've reached out to our warehouse, but haven't heard anything back" and "We've reached out to our shipping manager, but haven't heard anything back" with no end in sight! Please please please steer clear of this company, no piece of furniture is worth this level of frustration.

When the delivery company unpacked my Clyde chair there was major damage the frame/arms. The came apart completely. I refused delivery. Frustrating in that I placed the order in July. To try to talk to someone to resolve this is incredibly difficult. Went to fill out a warranty claim, but I cannot fill out a claim because it is telling my chair has not shipped yet. So I had to leave a msg for customer service to call me back as they will not directly answer your call. The customer person on chat was just giving me canned responses. This is the worst customer service that I have experienced in a long time and now I have not idea how long it will take to resolve this issue.

Please save yourself the trouble. I ordered a chair in April (5 months ago) and still don’t have it. The first delivery was weeks late and the chair was the wrong fabric. Then they wouldn’t pick it back up (apparently I offer free storage services). I had to follow up every time to get a response. I asked for a small discount and they refused. I also ordered pillows and they missed one. It was “out of stock,” but they charged me. Again, it took several follow-ups to get a credit. Don’t deal with this company, you’ll regret it.

We finalized our order for a new bed back on May 25th, our first attempt at buying furniture online. We received delivery on Tuesday August 11th just over 10 weeks from the time we ordered the bed. It took a bit longer to receive the delivery but that is understandable in today's climate. The two men that delivered the bed were not wearing any sort of mask or personal protection covering which I was surprised and not too happy with. They were supposed to install the bed but non of the hardware was included in the packaging. The delivery crew then told me there was nothing they can do and that I needed to call customer care to get it resolved. They had already unpacked the pieces to the bed and left them all over my master bedroom. No offer to stack them out of the way so we could put our mattress back down so it was left for my wife and I to move the bed pieces out of the way.
I emailed and called and left a message that same Tuesday. I did receive a call back and they left me

Ordered the Fenton dresser and paid a hefty amount for their “craftsmanship “. Well their craftsmanship is lacking because some drawers don’t close all the way and some are really hard to open. Really disappointed in the quality.

Disposable furniture. We purchased 5 pieces from Joybird. 2 Sofas (1 Sleeper), An ottoman, and two chairs. Did a ton of research to choose their most durable fabrics since we have children. Less than three years of use and the problems started. Fabric shedding and pulling on one sofa and the ottoman. Legs breaking or no longer holding. Tufting coming apart on the backs of the seats on both chairs and the sofa. Lastly, the foam inners on all pieces but the sleeper sofa became lumpy. We contacted the company this month after trying several things.... rotating/flipping cushions, shaving the fabrics, installing extra screws in the legs. To no avail.
Joybird response was “sorry, you are 4 months pass the warranty”. Absolutely ridiculous. We thought that spending more on our dream furniture instead of buying the $500 sofa from Costco was the right thing to do. Bad choice on our part. This furniture is truly no better quality than what you can buy at your box store. And, their response was just awful for a company who we spent $7000 with.

Update 11/4/19: 3-6 business days for Jb delivery department to submit a return to the delivery service. Also, 3-7 business days for the delivery service to call with a date and time.
I'm currently stuck with an unraveling sofa and wobbly chair and a missing ottoman.

Ordered a couch, chair, and ottoman on 9/11/19 and barely received the couch and chair on 11/1/19.
Joybird swapped labels on the ottoman before shipping so the delivery guys had another item in the box. Never received the ottoman. Jb wanted to file an investigation which could take another 2 weeks.
The couch, seam is unraveling and the wood frame came with dings and scratches.
The chair is unbalanced and very wobbly.
7 weeks and $2500 later and everything is a mess. Called for a full return and refund. They said now I have to wait up to 10 business days for them to come pickup their disfigured furniture.
1. Waste of time
2. Frustrated
3. Lack of quality control
4. Lack of information was provided during building process.
5. CS was not empathetic to our frustrations with this huge inconvenience this has caused during the holidays.

I ordered a pair of Soto chairs in May. Delivery was supposed to be the first week of July. I’ve contacted them numerous times for updates only to find out they are nowhere close to completion of my order. No proactive updates, false promise after false promise and no item to show for despite charging me the full amount immediately. To add insult to injury, they continue advertising the items that I’ve been waiting for for months with a supposed 6-8 week delivery window. Lies! Don’t make my mistake. Avoid at all costs.

They failed in pretty much every way possible. For a company that sells themselves on their ongoing updates into the production process, they have the worst communication I've ever seen from a retailer.
***** The updates are a facade. They don't correlate with actual progress and are simply a cheap marketing ploy to make you feel engaged. The photos included of the production team are boiler plate, and have zero to do with your item or order. *****
I ordered a media console in the beginning of March, with a delivery window of mid-May. The window came and went with zero communication or update from Joybird. Crickets.
I called their customer service and was told there was a material delay and that the delivery would be shifted back to mid-June. Not awesome, but I'd already waited 2.5 months. It was odd that I had to call them to find out what was going on, though.
Next month same story. The new window passes and there's zero communication or update AGAIN. I called customer service - again - and they have no idea what's up. No movement on the order in their system. They said they needed to call their production team in Mexico and would get back to me in 1-2 days.
I received an email 2 days later that said the order needs to be pushed back again to AUGUST. That's almost 6 months after initial order date. To "make up" for the delay they offered a $75 gift card, where a previous customer service rep stated that we'd receive, at minimum, a $250 refund when it was pushed back to June.
I cancelled my order, and was fully refunded within a few days. So there's one thing they were able to do in a timely manner! Based on the tone of the reps I spoke to and the overall experience I'd wager they'll be gone soon. Buy elsewhere.

I recently purchased a sectional through Modsy and well that's when my job started! The product is okay; however, getting the product is such a challenge!! There is so much chaos with the delivery and no one at Joybird can provide any information regarding the delivery. Originally, the delivery was scheduled for the 20th, then scheduled for the 24th.... then everything went in black hole.. where no one knew where the sectional was in the US or when it will be delivered. After wasting 2 work days and 5-6 hours in calls with Joybird, mostly no one picked up and left messages, hoping someone will listen to them and call me back. And there came a day when I actually received a call from the shipping company and they scheduled the delivered and I got the sectional. For wasting my time, so much stress, frustration, and embarrassment (had two family reunions at my place), I received about 5% discount (even though I was promised a substantial compensation) !!!!!! Here is the timeline from the delivery company's website.

Extremely upsetting. My husband and I purchased the Willams Media Console and the Dakota Entry Table on Feb 18, 2019. We still have yet to receive either items. We were completely fine with the estimation of the 8 week delivery period, however, its now going on 13 weeks and we still do not have a product. We are being told that they are behind on production and that we may not receive the items until June 24th, but still no guarantee. This has been such an inconveniance as we are missing major pieces of furniture in our apartment, making it unpleasant to live in our space and a challenge to have guests over. Joybird should not be accepting any new orders for these items until the can fulfill customers who have already paid for and purchased the product. The website should at least state that the items are on back order and not state an 8 week delivery period. We have paid for for these items and have 0 product to show for it. We were considering buying a couch and other items and now are extremely hesitant to ever order anything again. I have relatives who are now no longer interested in purchasing because of the terrible experience we have had. I wish Joybird would reach out to us and just deliver us our product.

Ordinarily I am a patient person. Having been in business for over 20 years, I understand things happen. I understand that sometimes these things are out of a company’s control. Moreover, I understand that compassionate, empathetic, take charge, under-promise-and-over-deliver customer service goes a long, long way. Unfortunately, I have not experienced this with Joybird.
I ordered the Hopson Sofa on February 7th. I wanted a different sofa in leather, but reasoned the Hopson, in what looks to be beautiful fabric (I wouldn’t know – I haven’t seen it) that could be delivered in around four weeks was the better choice. I had company coming from out of town at the end of March and thought certainly the Hopson would be delivered and in place by then.
On March 4th I received an email that my sofa had shipped. Great! Right on time.
On March 7th I was informed that upon inspection, the carrier had found the base was missing the t-nuts required to hold the legs onto the base. Why wasn’t this discovered when the sofa was inspected at the factory before shipping? Oh well. They let me know they were sending a new base and assured me this would all be sorted out quickly.
I followed up after some time went by and was told the carrier and delivery company was not returning their calls to set an appointment for the furniture “medic” to come out and install the new base on the sofa. I told them I would be happy to call the carrier on their behalf. They declined.
More time went by with nothing from Joybird, so I called the carrier. They informed me they had been in touch with Joybird and the wrong base had been delivered to them. So now they had to wait until Joybird sent a second, correct, replacement base to set the appointment with the furniture “medic”.
A few more days passed with no updates so I called Joybird again. They said the correct replacement had been sent, then I was put on hold, then there was a lot of confusion as to exactly what was going on with my particular case. It seems a whole lot of sofas had gone out with faulty bases…… Eventually it was confirmed a second replacement base was on its way.
More time passed with zero updates. Crickets.
I called Joybird for an update on Friday, April 5th and was told the new, new base would be at the same location as the sofa the following Tuesday, the sofa would be done the week of the 15th and I would receive a follow up call on Wednesday, the 10th to let me know how it was going.
Again. Crickets. Nothing.
It is now April 15th. Having once again heard nothing I called to check in. All customer service reps were busy, so I left a voicemail asking for a call back. I received a call back within the hour from Natalie who has been working on my case for a few weeks now. No apology for the lack of follow up the week prior, no acknowledgement that I have to keep calling them to follow up. She simply said she had some bad news. They can’t get a furniture “medic” (I swear if I hear that stupid term one more time….) scheduled until April 30th.
So now, we’re looking at a delivery when? First week of May? If I’m lucky?
I will revise this review once I receive the sofa. If I ever receive the sofa. I have high hopes it will be lovely and all of this will have been worth it. I really do hope so, as this will be the only piece of furniture I ever purchase from Joybird

We have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from this company over the past 6+ months. The quality is decent but not great, they are never accurate with their expected shipping windows (it always takes another 1 - 3 weeks longer, in our experience) and their customer service support pales in comparison with All Modern/ Wayfair, West Elm and other furniture companies.

I loved the Joybird experience from start to finish. The free swatch kit arrived quickly, I LOVED the progress updates once we ordered, and our couch was actually delivered 3 days earlier than originally estimated (about 6 weeks). Delivery was on time day-of and setup took less than 10 minutes.
The Holt Sectional with Storage turned out exactly as expected and satisfied everything that we were looking for (and we had a particular length, width and color that was hard to find anywhere else at a decent price). We'll definitely order from Joybird in the future based upon this experience!

Worst company ever! Shoddy poorly constructed furniture. I ordered a couch it took 6 weeks to show up, the padding in the arm was all bunched up on one arm and the other arm the paddling had a hard ridge where the padding ended and had been cut, the fabric looked nothing like the fabric color on line , and the fabric did not fit the frame well it was loose ! I called customer service they said they would send a replacement, 8 weeks later I get a delivery date, take the day off from work, I was given a delivery time , and of course they don’t show up during that time ! I call customer service , no help not their problem it’s an outside company that does the delivery. I still don’t have a decent couch

We got a Soto Chair in Bentley Daisey from Joybird and simply love it. It's a super simple design with incredibly firm cushions that feel durable and well constructed. I would recommend getting the ottoman as the chair is fairly large and is most comfortable on it's own if you are upright- the ottoman will allow you to lounge back a little. I specifically ordered this chair as a good reading chair and it's perfect for the task! Shipping does take 2-3 months, which Joybird makes abundantly clear upon ordering.

Terrible Customer Service. Ordered a chair with a 4 week delivery time. 4 weeks comes and goes. I contact the company and they tell me there was a problem with the wood ordered for my chair. It will be another 5 weeks to be delivered. Yet they are selling the same chair via a quick ship option on there website. If you have already made the cushions for my chair and have chairs already made how about you send me the chair you have in stock?

I have 2 joybird pieces. The Hughes sofa and chair. I love the lines and selection of fabrics. They’ve improved a lot in past couple of years. The fabric on my first sofa had been billed as pet and kid friendly but was decidedly neither. I was able to return and exchange for the pieces I now have. As others have commented the lead time is on the very long side, but the final product and customer service are above average. I’ll consoder joybird again.

Edit : the date I was given came and went. Then I was told the legs would be sent overnight. They have me a tracking number, but never sent the legs. I let 3 days go by before I decided I was done being jerked around. I reached out to my credit card company and they opened a case against Joybird. After the case was opened they sent me the legs finally, but not until then. The keys arrived and were badly dinged up from the mail, but it was clear to me that was the best I was going to get. Never. Again.
I ordered 2 fitzgerald chairs on 8-4-18. I selected my fabric at a slightly later date and they were delivered on 10-4-18 which was right on time. The delivery company put the legs on the chairs and set them up and we noticed right away that one chair had the wrong legs, one was significantly shorter than the other front leg. It meant the chair does not sit correctly and cannot be used. I messaged joybird immediately, but it took 2 days to receive a response where they asked for photos. I sent those the same day and it took another 2 days to get a response from Joybird again. They said it would be 2-3 WEEKS to send replacement legs. At this point I was already pretty annoyed and angry, but willing to wait. I received no word or update from them until I sent a follow up email on 11-7-18. On 11-8-18 I heard back from them. They are now saying I will receive my order between 11/19 and 11/23. I can't even begin to describe how frustrating this is. It's a nice product, but without the proper legs it's completely useless and just taking up space. Save your money and shop elsewhere. To top it all off, it doesn't seem like they publish any reviews on their website lower than 4 stars which is incredibly deceptive. Don't believe what you see on there.

I ordered a Calhoun sofa and ottoman in July and received it last week. Yes, it does take some time to get furniture from Joybird, but it looks very nice and is the exact color and style we wanted. There was a delivery mixup and my furniture went to the wrong distribution center, which delayed delivery a couple of weeks. I have to say Joybird customer service was upfront about the issue and kept me in the loop. The couch looks an feels great, and the ottoman is large enough for two people to use at once.

Back in June, I ordered a media console that was advertised as being able to ship in 3 days. When it arrived over a month later, it had obviously been damaged in production: the veneer was completely split in the front of the unit where one of the shelves had been attached. This damage would have been totally obvious if they had done literally any kind of damage control. On a $2000 piece of furniture, I don't know what they were thinking. We reported the damage to Joybird immediately and they said they would send out a replacement ASAP. It is now October 17th and we have still not received the replacement. Are you kidding? We also ordered a couch at the same time, and the couch is quite nice, but I honestly would not order from them again, this time frame is ridiculous.

HORRIBLE furniture, bad customer service and expensive. We bought 3 accent chairs because the website advertised beautiful cat friendly furniture. It is NOT cat friendly, the chairs took 3 times the committed time to arrive (maybe 6 months or so), and the "white glove" delivery was ridiculous.
Pets: Our cats scratch the furniture ALL the time and in less than a year, chairs are torn and in shreds, similar to any random furniture brand that costs quarter the price.
Delivery: The "white glove" service was anything but. a) They showed up much later than promised. b) They didn't bring ANY tools so couldn't install the chair legs. They literally asked me if I had an allen key. What kind of furniture delivery service doesn't even bring their own allen key? c) They brought only 2 out of 3 chairs, and 1 of the chairs they brought was missing a leg. We had to go back and forth with customer service forever till we received the missing chair about a month later. And because 1 chair was missing a leg, the delivery guys had to literally leave the chair upside down in our house with the protective covers on till the leg arrived.
Customer service: very polite and offered help when there was a problem. The issue is that we had TONS of problems because the chairs were several months late, delivery was missing items and furniture was not finished up to par. So overall, we didn't feel well served as customers and honestly, felt cheated by this company.

We ordered two mid-century modern chairs (Soto Concave Arm Chairs) and a similar table in mid-May and were told the products would arrive in 10-12 weeks. There were construction delays and we were told that the chairs were ready in late August, but that they could not separate the order for shipping, so the chairs were sitting in a warehouse waiting for the table to ship. Frustrated, we cancelled the order for the table and asked that they ship the chairs. One month later, in early October, the chairs arrived and both were broken to the point where they could not be sat on. One had two broken pieces of wood and the glue on the seam had never bonded on the other. The arm rest was completely detached from the leg piece. The Company was difficult to communicate with and it was a wholly frustrating experience.

Please avoid Joybird Furniture. It's all good until there is a problem. I read the reviews describing long shipping delays, but took a chance when I saw an Elliot sectional available for quick ship (3 days). I also placed a second order for two related items. Then I started getting emails about the progress of my build. I called several times before I received a clear answer about the status of my quick ship item - it was not available for a minimum of 12 weeks. I expressed concerns and only received empty apologies and no effort to correct the situation. Joybird allowed me to cancel the order; however, I already received the rug that I purchased to go with the sectional. In order to return the rug, I have to put it in the original packaging. Rugs come wrapped in a plastic wrapper. Not clear how you roll up the rug and put in back in the plastic wrapper.
Overall, I wasted a lot of time with Joybird and have nothing to show for it. The person I spoke to - Leslie - didn't seem to care and initially told me it was my mistake (i.e., the sofa was not a quick ship item although my invoice confirmed it was a quick ship item). Overall, not a good experience.

Joybird sent me an email to a review a bed I ordered almost 13 weeks ago and I still have not received the bed. We did receive an email on 7/18 that the bed shipped (with tracking) and we should allow 7-10 business days before we are contacted by the delivery service. 7-10 days passed, so I contacted customer service at Joybird and we told the bed was not in our local area but we should hear from someone to schedule bed by 8/7 (tomorrow). We also received an email on 7/21 that the bed was at their Quality department and another email on 7/30 that the bed had shipped with the same tracking number. I'm sure the bed will be great once we get it! Until then, Joybird has the payment and I have no bed to sleep on....UPDATE: It's been 10 days since I submitted this review and I still don't have the bed. I've called JoyBird twice and they are unable to help because they don't control shipping.....

Submitted an order for a TV console on April 20th delivery quoted as between May 29th and June 4th. I sent a message to Joybird on June 6th after I had not received any shipping update. Was then quoted a ship date between June 8th and Jun 14th. Sent another message on June 14th only to be told that the new ship date would be June 22nd. June 22nd came and went with no surprise. The console actually shipped on June 29th, approximately four weeks later than quote and 10 weeks from the order. The console arrived broken and had to be sent back. To receive a replacement unit it was going to be another 6-8 weeks, assuming they made their dates. I cancelled the order and we're going to figure something else out. No need to give these people any more money.

HUGE production and shipping delays. I ordered a bed, dresser and 2 side tables Feb 18, 2018. I'm writing this review June 29 - I have no furniture YET. They missed a delivery window May 15. My bed took 1.5 months to ship and it is sitting at a delivery company 30 min from my home and I've been told, "we will deliver it when we have time." The dresser is STILL NOT MADE 4.5 months later. I had to cancel it. The furniture was for a seasonal summer cabin and almost half the summer is gone. My family and guests have slept on a mattress on the floor. I wish I never ordered from Joybird. It's been a nightmare tracking my order, emailing customer service, being lied to about the production schedule and the shipping time line. There is no sense of urgency even 4.5 months later. Awful!

I agonized over choosing a new family sofa for months. I went to at least 20 furniture stores and sat on many MANY sofas. Nothing ever seemed quite the right combo of look and comfort and price.
Stumbled on the joybird bryant when looking for alternatives to the exceptionally expensive restoration hardware cloud sofa. The cloud didn't have nearly the reviews to justify that kind of $$$ but the few reviews on the bryant I could find said it was less sloppy looking, needing less fluffing and of course is a third of the price.
Couldn't believe I was ordering something that I'd never seen in person or sat on but I tok a leap of faith. They kept me up to date on build status and delivered on time, I had zero problems with the delivery people. Can't comment on customer service because it all went so smoothly I never needed to contact them.
I've only had the sofa for one week but it's amazing. Clean, excellent construction. Super chic while being essentially a bed in the shape of a sofa. Fabric is durable and easy to wipe down (2 kids, 2 dogs). Didn't think it was possible for me to be satisfied with a sofa but I'm more than satisfied, I'm thrilled! Highly recommend. If they had more stuff outside the mid century mad men vibe I'd be ordering it all. Great company, great quality.

Purchase 2- chairs, 1- bed and 1-dresser back on May 5, 2018. The bed was in stock and ready to ship. We paid for the separate delivery. Everything else was custom and build time was 10-15 weeks which we have no issues with. About 1 month pass and bed still has not arrived. After many followups and being told the the bed was either on its way, at delivery center or "possible misplace", we ended up canceling the whole order. Just glad this whole process did not linger on much longer.

I can’t express how disappointed i am with the craftsmanship. No one would find the pleats in the curve of the back to be acceptable or a wrinkled armrest, but Joybird called these a minor variance and not a flaw with their upholstering. The cheapest chair at Marlo’s has a smooth inside curve back! I said i loved the chair and the fabric, please send me a new one. Oh know, they can’t do that because i’m likely to find more minor variances. Say what??? Just trying to “manage my expectations.” What they are really saying is they can’t guarantee they can reproduce their furniture piece after piece to the same level of craftsmanship. Wow, what a thing for a company to admit about itself. So, buyer beware, if you are willing to wait 12 weeks, and don’t mind premium prices for “minor variances” this company is for you.

This company makes quality furniture. We refinished a house and I ordered 8 pieces of furniture. The quality is fantastic and the customer service in amazing. They will bend over backwards to help in any way. The pieces I purchased have a more firmer feel, but still comfortable. I ordered a fabric swatch kit which came very quick then waited for a sell and spent a lot of money :). On that topic, I priced around a bit. Their prices are very reasonable and if you catch a good sell they are a little less then other competitors. Also, I purchased a leather couch that I decided was not quite the right fit. They were great to return and very supportive of my decision. But upon looking for a replacement I learned that their leather is topnotch! Super thick an oh so soft! Just not the right fit for my room.

Prices are reasonable for the quality of the furniture (i.e., real wood, not fiberboard) and the styles are actually contemporary unlike a lot of other furniture stores.

Worst customer service experience ever! Shipped chairs 2 weeks past estimated delivery time. Contracted with JB Hunt for delivery who put the chairs in the wrong van, which they advised me of on a Friday only to have the driver call me starting at 6 am on a holiday (original delivery date) waking up my entire household only to show up empty handed (because guess what? the chairs were put on the wrong van the previous week). Rescheduled delivery 3 days later was no better, driver did not provide 30 mins eta call and never rang bell simply called my cell which was inaccessible for 15 minutes, then proceeded to yell and be rude when I asked for his base’s number to figure out what could be done. Third attempt was the worse...driver rescheduled delivery from a 3-7pm window to arrive at noon. I was fortunate to be able to make last minute arrangements...and the chairs? The wrong color. I ordered a light grey and received a dark green, and on top of everything they were damaged and super uncomfortable. And Joybird? Completely unhelpful throughout the experience. They claim there is nothing they can do about JB Hunt, their practices going around in circles to insist they can’t access their systems so there is nothing they can do. Really? because that’s the only way you can influence a vendor? They seem completely unaware that they are responsible for the entire customer experience and simply tell me their hands are tied. Oh and when I ask to speak to a manager at Joybird to request my return and refund be expedited after such a an awful experience where Joybird got everything wrong, they claim I have to be placed on some special list to be able to escalate the matter. You mean I am not already on a list after the 6 times I have had to call you over the past 2 weeks and 5 times I have had to interact with JB Hunt and all the time away from work to be able to accommodate JB Hunt? I am now waiting for a manager to call me (not holding my breath), for Joybird to open a case on the chair return and for yet another missed day from work so I can accommodate JB Hunt to pick up the chairs and then 7-10 business days from the time Joybird gets notified the chairs are in transit to receive my money back. Maybe if I am lucky i will see my money by summer. Buy somewhere else!

I purchased the ottoman to go with the Burns chair, but I had no idea that I was actually buying another place to sit. This ottoman is extremely comfortable to use with the chair, but also very comfortable to sit on by itself. It's exceedingly sturdy, but with the most elegant lines. The Royal Blush velvet fabric makes it even more comfortable. So pleased with this purchase.

I have had a poor experience with Joybird and cannot recommend this company. I ordered a korver chair and ottoman on 11/5 with an estimated arrival of 1/16. I was excited about the store's concept, its return policy, and the review of the korver couch on wirecutter. I followed the online updates, and it appeared to be ready to ship on time. But it didn't. After two weeks of radio silence, I contacted them, and they said there was a quality control issue with the ottoman. They promised the order would be delivered the week of 2/9. It also never came, nor was I contacted about the delay. I wrote...again...asking them for an update. It took a week to provide any substantive information--they finally said there was a foam issue yesterday. Now they say it will be complete at the end of next week. This is crazy. I'm so disappointed and regret my decision to purchase furniture with this company.

We recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Joybird and their Dexter shelf. After multiple shipping delays that occurred without communication but postponed delivery by more than 5 weeks, I received a phone call from a delivery person that needed to deliver the next week day within a 4 hour window.
Once we received the Dexter shelf I realized two things. First, it had been badly damaged in shipping. Second and more problematically, it did not have the same number of shelves as were advertised on the website.
Support was helpful over email but it often took more than 24 hours to get a response. In the end, they were not able to provide us with the proper shelf, but offered to provide us with an entirely new unit (with another 4 week+ wait time) or allow us to return the item for a refund. After this hassle, we have chosen to return the item, and go with another manufacturer.

We absolutely LOVE our new couch!! It's beautiful, exactly as we envisioned, and so so well made. We were worried about our tan-colored rabbit shedding on the couch, but the velvet really doesn't attract hair as much as we thought it might and it's been very easy to brush it off when needed. SO comfortable, downright squishy and has already been napped on several times. It's long enough for both my husband and I to stretch our legs out when leaning against either end. 3 average sized people could fit on this couch. It did take time to arrive, but we knew it was worth it for the custom build and high quality and we liked the build updates that kept us in the know about how far along our couch was. White glove delivery to the room of our choice and all packing material taken away - literally within 5 minutes our room was transformed and we didn't even have to lift a finger. It's everything we were hoping for and more!!

I highly recommend Joybird over other, less expensive options I found. The quality is what you want in a piece you’re going to keep for a while (no pressboard, just sturdy natural wood). Excellent customer service & delivery; easy returns for up to 365 days, even though all pieces are custom built. I got a gorgeous mid-century loveseat. They sourced & used a discontinued fabric for me. Build materials & quality are excellent, and the finished product is beautiful, sturdy and extremely comfortable. Felt very safe ordering from them because they allow up to a year for returns, no questions asked. Although I won’t be returning the couch I got.

The quality and fabric of Joybird Furniture is top notch. They provide a box of fabric swatches when starting a custom order for you. The customer service throughout the build process is outstanding, you get an update on every step of the build so you can follow your furniture creation come to life. We had four pieces of furniture custom built, 2 Hughes Apartment chairs, a Hughes Sleeper Sofa and a Hughes Apartment Ottoman (see attached photo). I highly recommend Joybird Furniture for all your home furnishing needs.

My husband and I ordered this couch over a year ago. We anxiously waited for it to get here and when it arrived, we were so excited. It takes a while to receive, but remember that you are getting a custom built couch! The couch was comfortable and our friends and family always ask where we got it. In November I got in an accident that left my couch/bedridden for a while. Our old couch would not have worked for recovery, it sunk and didn't have the best cushioning. This couch has been perfect during the time I've had to stay put. It's firm but so comfortable. I'd recommend getting a couch from Joybird to thinking about the investment!

I found Joybird in the process of looking for an organic sofa. I ended up choosing them because while not organic, they advertise that their furniture is not treated with synthetic chemicals, and thy use solid wood in their construction. I immediately fell in love with the Kensington Sofa, and ordered that with the Bradshaw Chair and Soto Ottoman. I have had the furniture now for about a month, and all of it is beautifully made. I love the look of all of the furniture, and the sofa, in particular, is really comfortable. Each time I have spoken with customer service, they have been polite and helpful. The one downside of ordering from them is that the furniture ended up being ready about six weeks later than expected. This didn't bother me too much, and I would absolutely order from them again.

Placed my order for a section and 2 chairs on Jan 9. I received the swatch kit a few days later. We were interested in the Sunbrella fabrics and realized we only received 1 of the 3 colors in our swatch box. I wrote to Joybird and they replied a few days later and sent the 2 swatches in a regular mailing envelope. A few days later we did a detailed review of the swatches, comparing them to the fabric descriptions and color options online. We realized for the 2nd time that there were some swatches we were interested in that didn't arrive in our swatch kit. I wrote to joybird again with the 5 swatches that were missing. They replied and confirmed the swatches were on their way. This time, we received another box, with 2 packs of swatches. Only 2 of the 5 we requested were in there. I've written to joybird again and hope they will send the 3 remaining hold outs. The lack of thoroughness and attention to detail from Jobyird makes me a bit skeptical on how the rest of this process will turn out.
May 26 update- Delivery service with JB hunt terrible. scheduling a nightmare. I ordered a sectional with medium legs and 2 chairs with mocha legs. All legs I received were mocha . I asked if I could exchange all to medium and was told they would only replace the sectional legs per my original order. I would have to pay extra if I want to change the leg color. Don’t be fooled. For the amount of money and time you wait for joybird furniture,quality and customer service is sub-par.

I was so happy to have discovered Joybird! It was to say the least a Joy to order for joybird. I've ordered numerous pieces of furniture based on reviews I've read about the company, and am impressed every time by the quality of the service and of the product.
My living room center piece, my Korver sofa, is THE MOST comfortable sofa I've ever sat on. The build quality is solid and feels like it could last a life time. I've also gotten multiple cubes and poufs and the again am impressed by the style and comfort.
The wait for product delivery can be long, but the wait is WORTH it. Morever, I appreciate the ordering experience. Joybird sends you a custom hand written letter about your product. You receive detailed updates on the build process as well. Customer service is also extremely friendly and responsive. I can't say enough good things about Joybird and have recommended them to my friends as well.
I can't wait to fill my home with future Joybird pieces.

This piece is great. As companion to the Woodson chair it creates the perfect lounger. When not paired with the chair it doubles as a coffee table, card table and dining table. So practical for our small space.

Joybird is amazing. We bought a sofa from them in 2014 to be the centerpiece in our new home—a small midcentury ranch on the edge of downtown Raleigh. I was anxious about making our most expensive furniture purchase ever on a new company with a sight-unseen product, but it was one of the best purchases I have made. The service from Joybird was spectacular. The couch has held up great with my two small kids bouncing on it every day. When a button did pop off, a quick email to Joybird had a furniture repairman to my house within the week to stitch a new button on, at no cost to me. All of my big furniture purchases will come from Joybird from here on out.

After pouring over all the options, I purchased the hopson loveseat in leather. The whole experience was very positive. The return policy definitely reduces the stress of ordering sight in seen. Did I mention, we love the hopson loveseat which is nice and deep. Recommend getting some pillows, since the couch is deep. We’ve had the couch for 2 years & it’s made to last. I am definitely ordering more furniture from Joybird!

My Astor three piece sectional just arrived today. Two months late. Throughout the repeated delays I was always the one reaching out to Joybird, they never contacted me, even when the expected delivery window had already come and gone.
The couch is so disappointing. The seams are puckered. The back frame pieces are disjointed and misaligned. The cushions are a different height and do not sit flush with one another.
I will be returning this couch tomorrow, after less than 24 hours. It cost nearly $3000 yet looks like a $400 couch. Let's hope the return process is smooth.

The thing about ordering a large piece of furniture online and not even requesting fabric samples (which Joybird offers) is that you're really set for a surprise when it traverses the country and arrives at your door. For us at least, that surprise was more positive than we could have expected. Our Briar Sofa is huge, comfortable, well-made, and a good value with those things considered (the Labor Day sale didn't hurt either). It took a little longer to arrive than we would have liked, but part of that was our suspense and it was more than made up for by Joybird's very engaged customer service. Not only would we do it again, we can't stop telling everyone we know about the positive experience.

We purchased 2 soto chairs and the Hughes Grand Sofa. All were beautifully constructed. The walnut wood is outstanding on the soto chairs - definite show pieces. We are pleased with the bold colors (bella forest, taylor blazer) and pet friendly fabric. We plan to buy 1 or 2 more pieces in the coming months. Only drawback is that the delivery was much later than anticipated due to a delay in 1 item. Customer service was good though to resolve the issue. I would recommend Joybird for furniture.

After researching for hours and going to multiple stores to try different couches and not finding anything we loved, we finally decided to get the Bryant Collection and couldn't be happier! The material has been great with pets so far and provides such a comfortable and relaxing feeling at the end of the day. I just completely remodeled my 2nd house and a Joybird sofa (or two) was the carrot dangled in front of me. Our project is done and the house is AMAZING and I finally realized my dream of buying one for my guest/office. I am over the moon with my new Eliot TwinSleeper sofa. The upgraded memory foam mattress makes this little twin sleeper so comfy for my guests and the sofa is the loveliest pop of color. This space makes me happy to get back to work on Monday.

Having never ventured out and taken the risk of ordering furniture online, I didn't know what to expect when I placed my order through Joybird for the Stowe Sofa in Lucky Turquoise. I can honestly say I was beyond pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed getting the updates on the status of my sofa and what phase of production it was in. I wasn't home when it was delivered, but my spouse told me the delivery process went very smoothly. I love the deep, rich color of this couch. It is the perfect length for me to lay down on it without having to bend my knees (I'm about 5'11" tall). The fabric feels durable to me, it's not too soft yet not too firm. All in all, I am so happy I gave online furniture shopping a chance and would highly recommend this sofa.

The pieces I received were fantastic, but quite delayed from the anticipated delivery date... about 2 months longer. They both look great, except for the legs didn't arrive with the ottoman and there was some staining on the top. But, their customer service team was very helpful.

I love our new sofa! Joybird was overall great to work with. First the negatives: it did take three months for our sofa to be made. But they were upfront with the timeline when ordering. The only thing is you pay in full and wait months, which is kind of annoying. When the couch came we had a horrible delivery. The company scratched the bottom of the sofa and broke the dust cover and I (me, a small woman) had to help him unload it from his truck, and then upstairs to my house. You can see why it was damaged upon delivery. Not Joybird's fault, but an effect of ordering a sofa online nonetheless. I immediately filled out a complaint and the very next morning Joybird customer service phoned me apologizing and promising to fix it. They even sent me a gift basket with treats and wine as an apology, which was really great. Two months later my sofa bottom was replaced, I just wasn't sure who or what was supposed to fix it. I had two deliveries of items and both said "with assembly" but adding a dust cover is not something I want a delivery guy to do. Anyway, I got it figured out eventually but the communication from Joybird could and should have been better with how the replacement would work. Months later though I'm happy with my purchase, but ordering from a purely online company does have its pitfalls. So be patient if you order from them. All in all it took five months to get the product I wanted. But I do love the design and sofa. I cannot attest to how it will hold up, it's six months old and looks good now. My only other complaint is the corners of the sofa aren't tight, meaning where the cushions and sides meet there is a small space, which is disappointing given the price. On the plus side, I love the design and fun color I wouldn't have found elsewhere.

My husband and I have looked high and low for a sofa that met the style he wanted and the seating capacity I was looking for. We just could not find anything local that met our desires or budget. I did some research and looked through more reviews than I can count on Joybird. We decided to pull the trigger when we saw their refund policy and the Hughes Grand Sofa. The extra length with the Hughes Grand is just what we were looking for! It is a firm sofa but comfortable!! I promise! It has had many a naps on it especially once cold and flu season hit the home. We're a family of three and we can all sit on it comfortably with room to spare. The hubs can lay on it and still not have his feet touch the end. We truly don't find the depth uncomfortable especially with the arms being cushioned and the extra depth. I feel like it provides more options on seating arrangements than anything. It's a solid and heavy sofa as well. We selected one of their pet friendly fabrics and having a kitten in the home, that was extra important to us. The kitten has all claws and picking with the Dawson Brindle has not been an issue for us. I'm not saying it won't it just hasn't been an issue thus far with a rowdy kitten. I will say you need to have some patience when placing an order for a customized sofa. It's not a speedy process but we love that we had endless fabric choices and didn't mind waiting the 6-8 weeks. Our fabric samples arrived quickly and our sofa arrived in the estimated delivery time Joybird originally set. We would purchase another piece of furniture with Joybird without hesitation in the future.

If you found a piece you really love on this site - go ahead and order it but be warned you may have a serious headache that you only wish you could lay on a couch to get rid of (but can't cuz it won't be there yet).
To anyone else who is just thinking about it - don't. And that is because I think they may make good stuff and are really trying to do things differently but they are obviously not doing a great job at executing. I have two coworkers that I found out ordered stuff from them and between all of our orders we had problems - serious problems with the product or delivery - with about 25% of them. All those one star reviews on this site - yep - problems. They just have too many.
I ordered a couch in July. It was delivered in December. It was about as expected, (the swatch I ordered from is a slightly different color than the couch, which is annoying, but not something I'd return it for). I wish that was the end of the story, but really what frustrates me the most is their customer service drove me bonkers. Every time I reached out they would act defensive and almost entitled. They never would have offered compensation for a delay that caused me to sit on my floor for 4 months in a new city - I had to argue for it. They kept telling me dates that it seemed they were making up because I'd call right back and get a different answer. One guy literally told me it was my fault for the delays because I'd chosen a 'premium' fabric. One reviewer here said customer service told her to put books under a broken leg and I can totally see them doing that.
Oh and those emails they send you telling you the 'status' of your 'custom built' piece? not based on any shred of reality. I'd get emails saying something was happening and then later find out none of it had happened. Also, not sure if they actually claim this but I've heard some say they claim that everything is made in the USA but my couch was made in Mexico. That or they used it being made in Mexico as an excuse for further delays. Either way... not cool Joybird.
To this day I still do not have the refund that they promised as compensation for the four month delay. I just hope they are as bad at disputing credit card transactions as they are at treating their customers right and making sure they are taken care of.
If you want to order something and roll the dice that you won't have to extensively deal with their customer service or hope your piece isn't one of the every four that makes it through quality control without catching something, you have a good shot at ending up with something you like.

I ordered the 74" Winslow soft for my music studio in a strong color to offset the deep brown paint of one of the walls. It really brought a lot of color and energy into the room and goes well with the Japanese prints. I was immediately impressed with the build quality of the sofa and attention to detail. My experience working with Joybird has been very professional and easy. I've talked to them during the process by email, live chat and phone. They have always been incredibly helpful and supportive. I had concerns about the couch being too stiff and noticed it broke in a bit over a few weeks.I enjoy the support now. I'm so impressed with Joybird that I'm ordering more furniture for other parts of our home.

We’ve now bought 5 pieces of curvature through Joybird. Although a bit more expensive than similar looking that can get premade that can get online through clearing houses, the quality of these is really substantially better in terms of tightness of joints, fabric and foam. The variety of colors is nice and designs are classic. Besides a well worth it price bump, the fact that have to wait a couple months for completion and delivery is a factor to consider but still feel is well worth it.

(1) Customer service was great to work with and prompt to reply to questions. I ordered two matching Hathaway chairs on Sept. 5. They arrived Oct. 31. I returned immediately with no challenges, and my credit card (which was charged the day I placed the order, keep in mind) was credited about ten days later. Great swatch selection.
(2) The chairs were wickedly uncomfortable - the arms and back had very little padding. Seat cushions were just "ok", but overall, they were miserable to sit in due to construction, not sizing. The fabric appeared good, but as they were returned, I can't speak to the long term quality.
(3) One leg was cross threaded when I put them together - not sure if that would have held up to removing and reinstalling again. One chair sat uneven - either the legs or the supporting structure was obviously not level. (I had to stick three floor guards under one leg to get the chair to sit level.) The back tufting on one chair was straight and even - the other had an obvious angle to it, and the back padding on one chair sat about 1-1/2" higher than the companion chair.
(4) But my biggest complaint: if you return an item to Joybird, you cannot write a review of it! Really, Joybird?? I researched online furniture till I was blue in the face, and Joybird kept coming in w relatively few problems and good return policy, so I gave them a try. Lesson learned and a question I never thought to ask of their customer service as I was making a decision to order.

I ordered a set of dining room chairs. The chairs are pretty, but it look twice as long as promised to receive them in the first place. Then, two months later, the leg on one of the chairs broke (with my mother sitting on it; thank goodness she wasn’t hurt). That was the end of May. I still haven’t gotten a working replacement now in November. Customer service has not been helpful at all. Overall, it’s been such a frustrating experience, I would not recommend purchasing their products.

My original delivery date was August 18-24.
They had problems with the fabric so said the new date would be the end of September.
They then admitted that they didn't have an accurate date and provided the following:
"The supplier for the Premier Fog fabric will be shipping out the new fabric bolt between September 25-29. This pushes back the production of your order to early October and then shipping it out right after."
By end of October, they still hadn't completed my couch and love seat. When I inquired last week, they said it would be done and shipped November 6-9. Well, today is November 10th and the items are not complete and not shipped.
This is beyond horrible customer experience. For my trouble they have offered me a throw pillow! Ha!
As you can see from the photo, I have no sofas in my space.

We received two of the Paley Leather Chairs close to 3 months after our order was placed. The chairs are truly beautiful and it is easy to see the attention to quality and detail the team puts in to each piece. One of these chairs did arrive damaged so we are waiting on the replacement now, but overall we are thrilled with the purchase and are excited to show off these chairs in our home
UPDATED 11.10.17:
It has been almost 2 weeks since (12 days) since we were told our replacement order was entered into the system, however the build has not yet been started. This does not seem to be "prioritizing" our order due to damage out of our control. Also, it is noted on our new order that estimated arrival for our chair is Nov 27 - Dec 1, but today a customer service agent emailed saying it won't event ship until December 13 - 18. This is just not acceptable to have to wait this long AGAIN for a chair that has already been paid for but damaged on delivery. The customer service team is difficult to get in touch with over the phone and you have to wait 24-48 hours to get an email response - always from someone different with a new apology. I really want to be patient and understanding, but this whole experience has been extremely unpleasant and frustrating.

I cannot say enough good things about Joybird. I was originally a bit skeptical to order a sofa I've never sat on before, you know it's always nice to test out the comfort level first! I felt more comfortable because of the huge amount of info available on the website, and I liked that the furniture was manufactured in the U.S.A, it seemed like everything was high quality so I decided to "risk it".
I love the look of mid century modern furniture, but not enough to buy a 50+ year old sofa! So I decided that my first purchase would be the Eastwood sofa in the Bentley Daisy fabric. I was able to chat online with a customer service rep before I decided on the sofa style, and they answered all of my questions about the cushioning and comfort level. I also got the free fabric swatch kit mailed to me, which was a HUGE help in making the upholstery decisions. If I had ordered based on sight alone, I wouldn't have liked the fabric I was originally leaning towards. Being able to touch and feel the fabric was a huge factor in my decision.
Unfortunately it was quite a long wait, but that's just because everything is made to order. Once the sofa finally arrived I was very impressed by the quality. The delivery/shipping was very smooth, the delivery people brought it into the house and set it up where I wanted it.
It has been almost three years since I ordered my sofa, and it's still holding up great. I get lots of complements on it. I've really appreciated the removable covers, because I chose a lighter fabric and also have children, so being able to machine wash them has been a lifesaver. I've only had to take them off to wash maybe 3-4 times though, because usually spot cleaning is sufficient.
I also ordered a matching tabletop ottoman and was happy with that purchase as well. I would recommend Joybird to anyone who is looking for high quality furniture that is unique and won't look like everyone else's living rooms.

Would recommend to all of our friends! Support was very responsive and helpful. Shipping took 2 weeks, after an assembly time to 2 months (customized sofa + ottoman). The sofa and ottoman were just as described: perfect fit, look and feel. Material seems to be quite durable.

We love, love, love, our Soto Chair in Taylor Felt Grey. It's very comfortable and stylish and complements our eclectic, Bohemian style nicely. I have had my sectional for a year now and am loving how it has held up to 2 cats and 2 dogs. The Bentley Daisy fabric holds up to its name. I don't have any snags from cat or dog claws!! AMAZING!! Still looks like I just got it. Love it so much I just ordered another sofa in the Bentley Pewter fabric for my main living room.

It's been 2 months since we gave these people over $4000!!!!! No sofa, no chairs, no correspondence!!! Finally got a hold of Celeste and she sends me an email telling me they're so happy I'm waiting for my furniture but "bad news" they are way behind in making my furniture! So this evening I get an email telling me "after all the stress of choosing fabric" they are finally starting to cut fabric for my chairs. Funny...the "build" reports I've been getting show the chairs have gone completely through the "build" process. No communication, just dead air. I'm ready to cancel the entire order and start looking elsewhere. Tired of sitting on patio furniture in my living room. Beware!!!! Don't give these people your money.

We were really excited about this company and the couches we selected. We were building a new house completed Sept 1 so we ordered two Braxton sofas at the beginning of June thinking that would be perfect timing to receive our couches in the new house. When we moved we even got rid of our old couches. We ordered June 6. Now it's October 15 and no couches!! Our house is so empty. We have nowhere to sit comfortably. We can't purchase end tables yet or finish our family room with no couches. Joybird's customer service has been quite awful. It's now been 18 weeks and build progress has not been updated since August. When we ordered the couches, they were supposed to be completed in 12-13 weeks. Each time we've corresponded with Joybird, we initiated. No reaching out to us to let us know what's going on. When we contact them, the general message is sorry for the delay... It is what it is. We can send you a free throw. We want our couches! Or reimbursement for this prolonged dilemma and frustration. You took $3000 from us months ago and we have nothing. We have family and friends from all over the country traveling to visit us and see our new house but we have no couches where they can sit. At what point do we try to cancel this order? We really liked the look of the couches but the wait continues... When will it end?

great sectional- perfect for a smaller space !
We searched high and low for a sectional that would accommodate our smaller space. the Hughes Reversible Sectional fits perfectly, doesn't stick out far into the room but still has enough room for both of us plus a cat to leisurely recline. The reversible feature gives us options, we also ordered the extra cushion so we can easily convert to a sofa if desired.. the fabric is true to color and durable. Joybird kept us posted with build developments, and it came 2 weeks early! Key takeaway: Our experience with Joybird was a long and squeaky one. Love the idea of the company but the quality and customer service are seriously lacking. Big learnings came from talking to the furniture repair technician and delivery teams about what furniture they would buy themselves and what they would avoid. They see it all and know their stuff, and they do not recommend Joybird either.
Below is the full story. It sounds ridiculous and it is, I know. Putting this all out there to share our experience in taking a chance on an unknown kid (Joybird). Others will have different experiences and you'll see that in the reviews.
I will call out that as an internet based company, they rely on reviews so there is a lot of pressure (read: incentives) put on customers to leave reviews in the first couple weeks with your new furniture. If we had written a review in the first couple weeks it would be a positive one but as you can see, problems started after a couple months and only got worse with time. For me, anything that costs over $1,000 better last more than a few months.
It's also worth noting that the Cole Sofa and Cole Ottoman are no longer offered by Joybird, so quality issues may be unique to that line of furniture. However, the majority of our issues have been customer service based.
So here it goes...
August 2016: Order placed for Cole Sofa and Cole Ottoman. Takes a few months to produce Joybird's 'built to order' pieces.
November 2016: Cole Sofa and Cole Ottoman arrive. First couple weeks were great and we LOVED the look of the sofa. It was a little disappointing how the matching ottoman was taller than the sofa, just a little awkward but nothing terrible. Few weeks go by and then the squeaking begins. The back of the sofa had loose / broken springs that made a horribly loud noise every time we sat down. Contacted Joybird to have a service person come and repair. Fast forward to...
December 2016: service person came out assess and fix the issue but unfortunately he couldn't do anything without Joybird's permission because the sofa needed a full reconstruction. Next step was for Joybird to contact us once they've approved repair or replacement.
**Note: I asked the service person what he thought of Joybird and he shared that he had been on a lot of service repair calls for Joybird and recommended a few others for similar price points instead.
January 2017: Took multiple follow up calls throughout December and into January. Couple weeks into January Joybird finally responded that replacement was the best solution and would take 4-5 weeks to build the new sofa. Fast forward to...
March 2017: The replacement sofa was ready for delivery and this is where the real issues began. It took until the forth delivery for the sofa to finally make it to our apartment. It was a mix of issues with Joybird and the delivery company (JB Hunt in Chicago). On Joybird's part, they are extremely slow to respond to customer service issues especially those made by phone. After the second missed delivery window, I contacted Joybird management and they offered compensation for the serious issues. I shared how it was not only frustrating but also expensive as we had to pay for missed delivery windows not to mention the many hours off work costing us a lot of time and money. Even after that, they missed the third delivery window. Pretty unbelievable. Finally on the fourth attempt the sofa made it into our apartment.
April 2017: Again had to make multiple follow ups regarding the status of our compensation for delivery issues. No response from Joybird, a tiring pattern.
May 2017: Final attempt urgent customer service email sent to Joybird about that delayed compensation which was finally responded to by the customer service manager.
June 2017: Sofa seat started to squeak. After everything we had just been through we tried to ignore it because we couldn't imagine going through the process again. As time went by, the seat cushions started to fall apart like the foam was too big for the case. Fast forward to...
August 2017: We move forward with the process of returning the sofa for a full refund. Surprisingly easy, especially compared to other experiences. Do wish we had received a confirmed refund amount before returning.
September 2017: Delivery team picked up sofa and ottoman last week. Asked why we were returning. I showed them the squeak and the cushions and laughed. Said that they are slammed busy with Joybird returns.
Finale: Joybird processed the refund for the total amount minus the compensation provided in May. Wanted to give Joybird the benefit of the doubt but they stood strong and the manager offered no real help.
If you've made it this far you must either enjoy reading long reviews or work at Joybird. If you work at Joybird, I hope our experience gives you some good action items to address and make your company more successful. If you are just someone who likes reading long reviews, hope it was worth it :)

There was plenty of angst on my part over the size and color. In the end, the 365 in-home trial policy helped me pull the trigger and place the order. I'm so glad that I did. The Hughes chair turned out to be the perfect size. The simple, yet elegant curves of the Hughes chair compliment my room beautifully. The Hughes chair calls back to the era my home was built while providing a very cozy place to sit!
My Eliot bed is just as smart looking in person as it was in the photos. The swatch kit is essential- the fabric looks far better in person. I love the sharp, tailored look of the Taylor fabric paired with the seams of the Eliot design.

Joybird makes excellent furniture, keeps you up to date during the entire construction ("build") progress, and delivers your furniture ahead of schedule. After ordering, the team sent me a handwritten note thanking me and asking me to reach out if I needed any advice on how to decorate around their furniture.
Likewise, the support on their website is excellent. A definite & high recommendation.

The quality of the furniture is amazing! It is all fits very well in our mid-century modern home. The reason for my 3 star rating is not the quality of the furniture so please read further if you are interested. On April 2 we purchased our furniture and we had SO MANY ISSUES getting them delivered. Their estimated completion time span was no where near what they said it would be. Our couch took over a month longer to complete, when it did complete it went MISSING in the shipping process! I spoke to Dallana, she was very understanding and nice about the situation. She discounted our order, gave us some free pillows, and sent us a bottle of wine as an apology. She was AMAZING! That was just the couch, although we purchased a chair and ottoman at the same time, that set was still in the works. After three months went by, I reached out to Joybird to see what was taking so long with the chair and asked why even though it had a mid-July arrival date that we were heading into the end of August and I still did not have my furniture. They told me that they "forgot" to inform me that the fabric we chose was out of stock and that it delayed the build process... We finally received our chair and ottoman early September. All in all, the furniture is amazing and very great quality. However, I don't see myself shopping with this company again due to the fact that all 4 pieces I ordered were delayed for different reasons to which I did not find out until I reached out to them.

My experience with Joybird was positive. Although they ran into some production issues and did not communicate as well I would have liked in this circumstance, I received the chair I ordered in excellent condition and it is exactly as I expected it would be. I had a specific color in mind for the chair I wanted and could not find it locally in a style that worked with my décor. Being able to receive free color swatches in a variety of fabrics is a real bonus.

We've been looking for a trendy, mid-century loveseat for our family room. The tricky part is that we wanted it to be comfortable and amazingly durable. We have a newborn, 70lb Chow dog (read: lots of shedding!), and a cat who suffers from epilepsy. All of this meant that the sofa we chose needed to be able to withstand stains, not show every little strand of pet hair (our dog has brown hair and cat has both grey and white), and not lose it's comfort factor once the baby gets old enough to jump on it and put it's springs to the test.
We've now had the Eliot loveseat in Taylor Felt Grey for nearly ten months and have quite thoroughly put it through the hair and stain test (the worst of our dog's shedding season is just wrapping up, the cat decided to dislodge a hairball on one of the cushions just last week (naturally, she couldn't do it on the hardwood floor), and baby's spit-up and diaper blowout days are at their peak... we hope). And yet, the sofa looks just as spotless as it did on the day it arrived! The build of the sofa is holding up wonderfully to our daily use, the comfort is higher than expected for such a fashionable mid-century sofa, and the material (Taylor Felt Grey) is turning out to be the perfect choice for pet hair.
My only complaint is that the wooden legs weren't wrapped well enough and ended up scratching each-other in transit.
On days when I swear I'm living in a zoo, retreating to my Eliot sofa allows me to pretend that my house is actually put-together.

We ordered the box pillows in vibe aquatic. The fabric is a chunky weave that looks expensive and the color is vibrant. The pillows are a nice size. They are not too firm, and not too soft. We liked them so much that we are ordering more for other areas.

I love my Roller loveseat in Key Largo Zenith Teal. It was brighter than I initially thought it would be, but still fell in love. I have a small apartment and this loveseat is large enough to look like a full sofa. It's comfortable and long enough for my 5'7 self to lie down and read a book on it. I get tons of compliments, especially with its companion the Gervin chair (in Cordova Havana). Definitely a great investment.

After shopping for over a year, we purchased two Elliot chairs. They are stylish and comfortable. We couldn't be happier. What I like about Joybird is they send you the fabric swatches for free. After placing our order, they also send regular updates about where the chairs were in the production process. The only thing I wish is they had showrooms so we could sit in the furniture before ordering. Their generous return policy is what finally helped me get over the unknown. I love my new sofa.
I just received my blue Hughes Apartment Sofa. It is beautiful and quite comfortable. It is on the firm side, which I like, and is really good for lying on. It feels very well-made and is quite stylish. The clean lines and airy style really work in my small space.

After reading glowing reviews I decided Joybird was the place. But I was too late. Apparently they've merged with and quality has gone way down according to our delivery person who delivers and now returns their stuff regularly. 9/10 Times. They continually botched the customer service from go. Sending me out fabric samples that were discontinued so I'd made all my choices and then they told me too bad. They offered discounts then took them away because it was a new rep and she told me wrong. I had to contact them to find out when my furniture was coming since the promised delivery date was 3 days away, only to find out it was a month behind. Oddly someone did contact me a week after it was suppose to deliver to tell me it was a month late.... They told me an excuse about why my couch was delayed, and that they were always on time, and when I asked about the rest of my stuff (chairs, tables, etc) they copped to everything actually being delayed and the excuses came rolling. They said they'd refund shipping and split orders but didn't follow through then blamed me. Said I needed to confirm that's what I wanted (because ya, I don't want my shipping refunded or my orders asap as I already told them). When I asked for the refund they denied it. The furniture arrived and 10 pieces were damaged making their whole "reviewing for quality control" was a joke. The boland coffee table being the worst, as it was nicked in several places, the legs were uneven and wobbled badly and the glass top didn't even fit in! Even if it slipped in the sides were off by 1/8 -1/4 in places. What?!?? It was clearly not even cut for the table. The upholestry job on the Morgan chairs was bad on 4 out of 6. Nothing on the seats so this an issue with the job they did. On my Briar Sleeper sofa, the one cushion is not stuffed as well as the others and sags and looks dumpy abd one is ripped on the bottom. You can never get a hold of anyone. After writing and writing negative reviews to maybe somehow get help I spoke to a manager and we worked things out and I thought hey, well, let’s see how this goes from here. Two months later only the chairs have been replaced and arrived with huge gouges and scratches and had to be returned!! That was last week!! It’s been a full week and I can’t get someone to return the emails, or calls or update me. Long short, I put up with all of it because I was invested and just hoped when I received it this would be done. Don’t do it!!

UPDATE-- We're now at 2.5 years and I am still a VERY happy customer. Had a problem with a cushion recently...Joybird made it right. I ordered the Hughes sofa and ottoman in Key Largo-- a winning combo! This will take what my family has to dish out without a worry--pet and kid friendly. This is furniture we can love and live with, not cover with plastic. The subtle gradation of color is fantastic and complements my decor perfectly. Build quality is very good too. My only complaint and it's a small one is that it took a little longer to deliver than originally anticipated. The one year to try is outstanding. The fabric in a previous purchase just didn't hold up to be kid and pet-friendly as initially advertised and Joybird was fantastic about taking a return.

I am in love! Purchasing custom made furniture without the benefit of tying them out was a big risk, but I can not truly state just how much I love the new Hughes Ottoman and sofa I purchased from Joybird! From start to finish the process was easy, shipping was effortless, and it's very lush and comfortable. It's exactly what I expected and more, and the look, we'll that's just truly madmen fabulous! I'm slowing bringing my 1950's ranch back into style.

The Eliot Corner Sectional has so much more useable seating space than we anticipated. The back and seat cushions are beautiful and seem to be very durable and nicely structured. If you curl up on the sofa and put your feet up, it is possible to catch the buttons with your feet when you move around or adjust, but hopefully missing buttons won't be an issue down the road. This sofa is very firm -- even more firm than I anticipated...but not necessarily in a bad way. Once you're on it, you realize it's not uncomfortable to watch a movie on, but rather supportive and won't leave a giant crater in the seat that you have to roll out of. Shorter people might appreciate having a few accent pillows around to make the seat depth a bit shorter if you want to sit upright AND have your feet touch the floor. Every single cushion (back and seat) cushion is reversible so you can swap your cushions around every so often to keep the wear and tear even over the years. This was a huge selling point for us. So far, we LOVE everything about the Eliot Corner Sectional!

Chose this smaller couch to fit our living room which just didn't have enough room for a full sized couch. I am 6'6" so this isn't a couch i can stretch out on but quite comfortable none the less. Plenty of room to sit up and stretch out legs. Thinking about adding an ottoman which will open up more seating possibilities. Very sturdy but comfortable. A bit stiff but breaking in more and more. Color and style are just as described. Great couch.

I received my Elliot sofa last June after purchasing my new home at the end of April. I love mid century design and decided to take a chance ordering online without even seeing a swatch. Decided to go with the Taylor felt grey fabric cause I thought at the time I couldn't go wrong with neutrals especially grey. When I received my sofa it was just the pick me up I needed after dealing with home renovation projects. My Elliot sofa looks and feels very high end and was amazingly affordable. I love all of the button tuffs, the quality is impressive have add many friends inquiring where I purchased it as I live on the east coast and many friends are unfamiliar with Joybird. Then one day I was on joybird.com looking for more furniture and saw that I could purchase pet friendly fabric. I called customer service for more information as I have 2 cats and habitually keep furniture covered. After it was explained to me was happy to discover that I already purchased pet friendly fabric on my Elliot sofa, was one of the best accidents I ever made! I then placed an order for the matching ottoman and a chair. Plan on placing another order this summer as I have an entire house to fill.

I just received my Aubrey 3 piece sectional and ottoman today, and am in love! The color of the Taylor Tonic fabric adds a lot of extra joy to my already bright living room, and the grey of the ottoman is a perfect complement. Even though my room is small, the sectional provides a lot more seating than my previous furniture. The delivery made the set up a breeze. The pieces are very sturdy and will last for many years. So, a little nervous when this chair arrived. Why? Because we ordered it Apartment size. Me, a 5'1" firecracker, fits wonderfully in this most amazingly crafted masterpiece. My 6'1" behemoth of a husband...not so much. Or were we wrong? Indeed, so much so that my handsome manly man sits in this chair daily giving me the mad dog stare if I try to take the seat for my cute little self. So don't be fooled by "Apartment" size. All of Joybird's furniture is one size fits all. While this beautifully handcrafted chair made with a leather that begs to be patinaed started off in our Living Room, I'm afraid it has made its way to the man cave. C'est le vie!

I love my new sleeper sofa! We slept on it the first night it arrived and it is super comfortable. We got the spring mattress with it. Can't wait for guests to arrive to enjoy it!

The furniture is poorly made. We purchased a chair and ottoman ($1200). They have this "365-day home trial" and you can return within a year. What they don't make so clear is the crazy expensive return shipping. $423 for a chair and ottoman! No mention of shipping charges here: joybird.com/home-trial. The fabric is pilling. The legs won't stay straight no matter how much or how often you tighten them. The ottoman is now concave and the cushion is sloping and the seams are creeping. It looks very tired. With $423 return shipping the "guarantee" is a bit hollow and it turns out it's not such a good idea to buy furniture online after all.

Love this couch!
We were a little nervous about ordering a couch that we had never seen before online. Not only that but we have 3 cats who had shredded our last sofa. We did our research on fabrics and decided to give it a try. We have been incredibly pleased by our new grand sofa! Not only is the size absolutely perfect for our huge space but the material has been amazing with our cats. When they attempt to scratch their claws are unable to get a hold of the material and they slide right off! The sofa is beautifully made and everything about the purchase and delivery process was incredibly easy! We loved the couch so much that we have just ordered a matching loveseat! Finally our living room looks nice again and the cats are as happy with the new furniture as we are!

Beautiful, elegant yet simple! It's sturdy but very comfy, exactly what we were hoping for. Service and delivery was easy as pie. Fabric is extremely durable, but still comfortable. I love how sturdy and firm the couch is, but it's still super comfortable! Holds up well to dirty paws and spilled cheerios, too :)

We love our Anton daybed. My daughter slept on it the first four nights we had it just because. When it was originally delivered the cushions were installed upside down and the fabric seemed wrinkled like there wasn't enough stuffing in the cushions. I contacted customer service and we quickly figured out the problem. Customer service was very helpful.
We ordered with a pet friendly fabric. My cat and dog have yet to put a snag in it though I know they've tried. It's a great sofa to sprawl out on, to relax as a family and I'd buy another if we had the room for it.

We picked out the Hughes Swivel Chair online, and then spent about a week going through the fabric swatches that Joybird sent to our house (they shipped them quickly, which was super helpful) before choosing Key Largo Coral. The chair arrived and looked exactly like the online photo. We particularly limited ourselves to pet resistant fabrics, and I am glad we did, because our cat Bean loves this chair! Customer service was top notch. The chair was made from scratch once we made our order, and the delivery service was great. We highly recommend this company and hope to purchase something else in the near future.

It's been almost 6 months with my new couch and I love it...it's first of all, so beautiful and just makes my studio apartment feel more spacious and cozy than any couch I've ever had in this space. And secondly, it is definitely the most firm and comfortable sofa I've ever had--for naps it's heaven, and for just for hanging out with friends, everyone just seems to relax when they take a seat...

Our new Hughes Apartment Chair is a perfect fit for our not so huge family room (14x20') We're impressed with the solid build feel to the chair and firm cushions. It looks like it's going to wear very well. I love the textured feel of the Cordova fabric we selected, it's a beautiful weave of colorful fibers - the kind of cloth you know will stand up to dog and human usage alike and keep looking good.

Ordered the Anton Sofa from Joybird. After going through a couple of months of waiting for delivery and receiving hype emails about the progress of my "build" I finally received a beautiful looking sofa. However, sitting on it was a complete bring down. The Anton is billed as a plush and super comfortable sofa. What arrived was something akin to sitting on cardboard. The bottom cushions sort of collapsed without being soft. The back was impenetrable. Totally odd not just uncomfortable. The piece felt like someone in the factory was out of control. We had to return the sofa after months of waiting. It has really got me spooked about ordering furniture on line.

I am giving our new Hughes sofa five stars because there isn't anything that I don't like about it so far. The styling is just as pictured on the web site and the microfiber fabric appears to be very durable. It sits firm and I think that is a good thing. i am critical of seating systems in furniture because I have been spoiled by eight-way hand tied seating. That type of system is expensive and hard to fit into the slender seating profile of mid-century modern designs. The true test will be how this sofa holds up to a few years of sitting. The cushions seem to sit on the frame almost as much as on the zig-zag springs. My hope is that this system proves to be durable. To summarize, the sofa is beautiful and the fabric seems durable, while the seating system is not very dynamic in nature. It remains to be seen if it will stay firm or turn to mush with use. So far, we loved it enough to order a matching loveseat.
Update 3-12-17: My initial hesitance regarding the seating system of this sofa has already been turned to disappointment. We use our sofa daily, so we are finding out that a durable and supportive suspension system is important. This system seems to rely primarily on the cushions themselves for support. In a little more than two months, our cushions have lost half of their firmness. We now sink into this sofa and when we rise we leave behind wrinkles in the once taut cushions. I am leaving the five star review for now because I contacted Joybird today and was told that this appears to be substandard foam. They will ship me new foam cushions. I am taking them at their word for now. They want to make it right and that is a good thing. If it turns out to be a product design limitation, I may still stick with Joybird if they commit to keep making it right. The sharp, mid-century design was what I was looking to buy at a reasonable price. I will post pictures of our newer, taut Joybird loveseat and the 2 month older sofa for comparison. I will be sure to give Joybird their due praise if they make everything right for us. Stay tuned.
Update 3-12-17: The Joybird team responded immediately to my request and new cushions have been ordered. It will take two-three weeks to manufacture them and then there will be shipping time after that. I am pleased with the quick response to my request. A one month or more lag time to fix the problem feels a bit slow, but in this case I have serviceable furniture while I wait, so it is not a big deal.
Update 5/8/17: The replacement cushions arrived today and they have us right back to the firm seating that we had when the original cushions were new. I was expecting new foam cushions, but the good folks at Joybird sent new UPHOLSTERED cushions. Wow, that was nice of them and unexpected. I am very hopeful that these will stay firm. My five star review stands. Thanks Joybird.

I have lowered my review of the Hughes Sofa and Loveseat to two stars because of continued sub standard performance of the seating system. As I have pointed out, the design supports the cushions on the frame with zig zag springs and wooden cross-members below the cushions in the middle. When people sit on the cushions, they sag in the middle. As the cushion foam begins to fatigue, the middle and the bowing sagging draws the cushion fabric toward the sag. The top front edge seam has moved back from the front of the sofa on the most frequently used cushion and the bottom front edge seam is up from the bottom by more than an inch and a half toward the middle of the cushion, creating an arcing seam instead of a crisp horizontal line that the design originally had. I really like the look of the Hughes Sofa and Loveseat and the fabric is great. I truly wish that Joybird would revisit this design though and make a rock solid seating support system in it. The additional cost would be worth it. I do appreciate Joybird's effort to try to make it right by providing new cushions, but it clearly will take more than that. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this product for anyone who uses their sofa daily and that is a sad thing because these are beautiful products on delivery day.

Minus a hiccup with the moving company that was in no way Joybirds fault this arrived smoothly. It was packaged very securely which I was relived by. Arrived fully assembled as expected and no damage whatsoever. Be aware there are no shelves inside and it is indeed a walnut veneer (had it in my head it was solid but the description clearly says it is not so that was my bad). In spite of that it looks to be solid walnut, particularly inside. Feels very sturdy and I have no regrets on the investment. As always Joybird customer service was impeccable and I am extremely pleased.

Joybird is making up for this experience I posted below. I received a personal call from the head of Customer Satisfaction who genuinely was looking for a happy customer. He apologized, accepted the error and explained the anomaly. Joybird has more than made up for this bad experience I had and even offered a personal follow-up to any new orders I place. I'm actually changing this review from 1 to 5 stars --- while they screwed up the order pretty bad, the response I received today from Patrick was absolutely the best follow-up from a company I have ever received. He genuinely wanted to fix this and accepted the error.
Any ways, looking forward to my chair again! Will update when I get it.

Joybird seems like a great new approach to furniture. The "Uber" of furniture. Unfortunately, they don't appear to have a handle on their supply chain and manufacturing workflow. We place an order on 11/13/2016 with an "Curbside Delivery - Estimated Arrival: Jan 29 - Feb 06*"
Planning for this we sold our existing furniture as we waited for our arrival. We also have a party upcoming. While overly detailed "build updates" come in, suggesting your "piece" is literally being custom designed for you, to simply appease you while you wait for 2 months for a chair...
...all of a sudden they stop on 12/21/2016
I check for an order status update on 1/31/2016 by email, and the next day I am then told that they are dreadfully sorry but the order is now "estimated" for delivery "mid march" -- which means, I won't be seeing this until April. They cannot offer a guaranteed delivery date, because ya know, of potential road closures. Seriously!
They suggest a discount can be considered after my furniture arrives with no promise of the discount or the delivery date. They have no good reason for the delay (e.g., a hurricane which wiped out an assembly plant). Just good old fashion, "we're sorry for the massive delay and we'll ship as soon as possible"
This company operates on promises and feel good emails and not product satisfaction. It seems like it's run by a bunch of teenagers.

Couch is true to color, I thought the cushioning would be a little thicker hence the 4 stars, but we are happy with it. After 6 months or so the couch is still really comfortable and benefits from some extra cushions for support. Love the color too!

For the longest time I have been dreaming about the Welles sofa. Unfortunately the sofa could not fit in my NYC elevator so when I saw the Welles sectional I jumped on it. I ordered the sectional which took a long time and with very little communication from Joybird. Finally it arrived and within two months the buttons started popping up from the tufted sectional. I also noticed that the fabric on chaise section started to look a bit like an old sweater. So I ordered a replacement and the tufted buttons didn't match up!!!. The tufted buttons on the chaise were set lower then the tufted buttons on the sofa section. I just wanted to cry because I already bought my Welles chair to match. So now I have to return my replacement and start looking for a new company to buy a sofa from to match the Welles chair !!!!!! Really ! !! I'm giving 1 star for customer service and another for my Welles chair .

Of course, then there's the piece itself. The sofa is comfortable, seems to be really well made, and the (Bentley Daisy) upholstery is beautiful. This sofa begs to be napped on. It's almost too comfortable, and I can't stay awake when I sit or lay on it. I highly recommend this company. Just be prepared to wait quite a while for it to arrive. The wait is definitely worth it though.

Absolutely love our new Hughes sofa. It feels like it is built to last (the cushions on my last sofa from a mainstream store broke down within a year), but is supportive and super comfortable. My husband was hesitant to buy a sofa without the opportunity to sit on it first, but even he has had to admit that he likes it. Best evidence: he slept the whole night on it without complaining.

I love this desk. The desk is basically exactly what I was looking for. I work from my computer and have a lot of papers so I was looking for a big desk with room. This desk is plenty big and has lots of spaces for large monitors and everything else you need to get work done. On top of the functionality this desk looks amazing. The styling is very cool and I have gotten a lot of good comments on it. I have a smaller desk of the color cherry but got this desk in a dark walnut color. I like the walnut color better. The best part is I like to put my feet up when I work and the desk has a wood piece at the perfect height to rest a leg on.

This piece of furniture was exactly what we needed, and the way they kept me in the loop about the progress really helped with the long wait time. You should be aware that the early delivery estimate date depends on if you pay extra for expedited shipping. I ordered in June, and got it in September. We lived without a couch for those months, but now we have it, we never have to buy anything else again for as long as we live. It's a really great couch.

2 Months on and our couch has still not arrived. After calling them, I finally get an email saying that it is expected to ship a week after it was meant to be received. They also quote a 7-14 day delivery period so it will probably end up being a month late.
We ordered a very large sectional couch from a local Los Angeles store and granted it was a lot more expensive than Joybird furniture and therefore had exceptional customer service, but they did manage to build and deliver it in a week so I cannot fathom how a bed which has limited material can take over 3 months!

We ordered the Redmon U Chaise Sectional waited months to receive it. We were so excited to finally get our sectional only to see the leg of the sectional was broken off during transport. We notified Joybird right away. September 29, 2016 we were told that it would be repaired right away. It's Nov 11, 2016 and we still have a broken sectional sitting in our living room. We have sent multiple emails and called. At one point I sarcastically said "we hope to have a usable sectional by Thanksgiving" now whenever we check they say we will have it by Thanksgiving. It seems sarcastic.
The sectional would be very good looking if it wasn't lop sided due to not having a leg.
It is not very comfortable. It is very firm.

Eh - not what promised. When I decided to order the website said ships in 6-8 weeks. Once I hit order and gave them my credit card, they gave me an estimated arrival date of 10-11 weeks from order date and promised lots of build updates along the way. Received my first build update several days into the estimated arrival date window. The chairs finally arrived approximately 15 weeks after ordering. Not impressed. I got an email that they would send me a $200 store credit for my inconvenience. Never received, but, wouldn't use anyway. The chairs are good. Nothing special, though - I could have found something similar in price and style and had delivered a lot sooner. Would not recommend or shop here again.

I ordered a bed from Joybird on May 30th. I was originally given an early August completion date. It is now October 20th and I can't get anyone at Joybird to give me a straight story about what is going on and why a 9 week completion has stretched into almost 5 moths. I've called and emailed numerous times and for the past 2 months I have been repeatedly told the bed is a couple of days from being shipped and even that it is done and will be shipped in the next day or too. Over and over again. There seems to be a serious internal communication issue and no one seems to be taking ownership of my issue. I just keep on getting promised it will be done in the next day or week and platitudes about this not being the customer experience they envision and that they pride themselves on their excellent service. OK once, but after the 5 or 6th time it's really galling.

We have an amazing Hughes sofa in Key Largo Teal. It's beautifully made and the color has so much depth to it. We were worried about the color being too dark but it is so rich and deep that it makes our living room come alive. The price is fabulous for the quality of furniture. We are so happy with our couch and the customer service we received that we are going to order more furniture from Joybird in the future. We couldn't be happier with our purchase it exceeded our expectations, we feel so lucky to have found Joybird.

Beyond disappointed with Joybird. After placing our order, decorating our living room around the swatch selected and waiting over two months, joybird contacts us, after I inquired about our delivery date, the week it was supposed to arrive, to tell us that the fabric we selected is no longer available. It took another ten days to speak with a manager about selecting a new fabric. Danny, was supposed to get back to us on a delivery date. After waiting another week, I contacted them, only to be told that it would take another four days to get a delivery date estimate. Really? Requested a cancellation and refund. Buyer beware. Joybird is not good to their word.

Ordered a custom couch and ottoman from Joybird. I was already not impressed by the 9 week wait I was told to expect but decided to take the plunge anyways. A week before it was due to be delivered I got a notice that it would be delayed...and additional month. It would now be 13 weeks. I said no thank you and wanted to cancel my order. Suddenly the customer service associate called to assure me it would actually be ready to ship in three days and they would expedite it. OK, that sounds great (though they would not have done this if I had not tried to cancel). The problem is, they didn't do it. It didn't ship when they said, my delivery date is now at the 13 weeks that I said would not work for me. They flat out lied to me. I will never do business with this company.

Ordered 3 items in mid April after several chats when I was told items would be delivered by 7-17June; good as I was moving out of the country by end of June. Was told then that the item I was most keen on was ready to be produced (patchwork fabrics were already available). Low and behold they started framing 13 June (two months) later. You find out status by calling. No one owns your order. When you can you talk to any of the staff who is in Losa Angeles and communicates to the production team in Mexico. Who knows what the staff is told. I think they're taking more than they can chew. Order will be cancelled and I will be happy to buy made in Italy.

We read the first (and only) review here and were led to believe the furniture was made in the US. We were very excited to purchase furniture made domestically as that is an important factor for us in making a purchase.
Only after ordering in mid-March were we informed that the furniture was actually made in Mexico. The fabric is made in China as it turns out. I'm not sure how eco friendly that is.
The furniture never actually arrived and was scheduled for mid-June delivery, after significant delays. The suspiciously long delays suggest perhaps that the furniture might be coming from even further away?
We had to cancel our order and found the exact same style sofa made in the USA for about the same price.
Since quality matters to us as well as truthfulness, we cannot recommend this furniture company in good faith.

If you are in need of modern, US made and eco sensitive furniture we can't praise Joybird enough. Beautiful work, guaranteed free returns if you are not happy. Personalized service. Very reasonable prices. We ordered via phone and didn't realize till near delivery time they had heard "grass" when we said "grape". We called and they asked if we would be willing to keep the chair that was being shipped and they would give us the chair with the correct fabric for no additional charge. You can't ask for a more customer positive experience than that. We love our chairs. We are chemically sensitive and we loved that they offer Oekotex fabrics and foams that are the least off-gassy we have found. They are small so it may take awhile to build your furniture. But if you like a risk free and super friendly online buying experience go Joybird!
