Laurie Downey created the site-specific "Park" for my garden, including implements for installation. The design was a Laurie Downey original I saw in her portfolio; she recreated it for me with proportions, colors, and materials decided by us working in tandem. LD was timely, managed the installation herself, and in all regards the exchange was easy and professional. Finally, I report that I take daily pleasure from the piece, from several angles, and that it works well all year long. In the autumn and spring, when entertaining at night, I light it at ground level and it creates a distant, theatrical effect down the long garden unlike any other I have ever seen, and creates much buzz of conversation and admiration. I LOVE the screen, it looks different in different qualities of light, and is a piece of art instead of just a screen. It gives me great flexibility in modifying the shape and character of the room for privacy for guests, and just coziness when I am alone. Laurie was great to work with, and helped guide me to a solution that really works well.
