Our Acadia Twin Bunk Bed is beautiful. The kids have already given it a workout, and we all approve: it is as good and sturdy as they get! The craftsmanship is excellent, the paint-job flawless, and the customer service impeccable. We enjoyed working with Pam, Brandon, Matt, and Fred, who guided us through every step of the process and did an impeccable job with the installation. We were drawn to Maine Bunk Bed for their quality and ethics, but their human dimension makes them a standout in the industry!

I recently bought custom-made twin xl bunk beds from Maine Bunk Beds for my five year old twins. I found the company after hours and hours of internet research, trying to find bunk beds that (a) would last long enough for my kids to use until they leave my house, (b) could be separated into two beds, and (c) wouldn't off-gas a toxic brew of VOCs into my kids' room. I am not disappointed. To the contrary, I feel pretty happy about having dropped essentially two grand on bunk beds. The fact of the matter is that these beds are extraordinarily well-made, and my five year olds have just gone from their toddler beds to the last beds I will ever buy them. Jim and others with the company were awesome during the process and answered my incessant questions without letting on that I was being annoying: 1) Can't you deliver it in three weeks instead of eight? Their birthday is coming up. (No. Custom made, duh.) 2) Can you paint the bunks two different colors? (Yes) 3) What is under the mattress? Is it toxic, formaldehyde-laced plywood? (No, it's the eco-friendly, soy-glue version of plywood.) 4) Is it strong enough to hold the heavy latex mattresses I'm going to buy? (Yes, holds 300 lbs!) And so I bought the beds, and I laid out the extra TWENTY!? bucks to have someone assemble them in my house. (That was a Christmas special I think, but worth $100 or more in time and headache savings.) The beds are here now, and they are just as great as advertised. It's hard to get quality like this.

Full disclosure, I was not initially excited about the prospect of bunk beds for our girls. However, once I discovered Maine Bunk Beds and their Winslow bed design, I was sold. As a business, Maine Bunk Beds offers top notch customer service (friendly, clear and timely communication and high quality craftsmanship with safety and sustainability at the forefront of their design). The Winslow, in particular, is a fabulous choice for siblings sharing a room. The stairs offer a safe alternative to a ladder and - best of all - the built-in drawers and shelf is the equivalent of adding a dresser to the room! Plus, there is ample space for storage underneath the bed as well (we use canvas baskets for toy storage, though the space is often taken over by our daughters as their "cabin"). The bed is incredibly solid, and as a parent, I appreciate that I feel completely safe and comfortable snuggling with my five year old on the top bunk. And getting to spend my dollars with a local, Maine business is just the icing on an already delicious cake!

Love Maine Bunk Beds. Incredibly high quality product - very sturdy, and they do a great job with paint (in variety, as well as options of contrasting paint styles). Service was excellent - great in helping design what I wanted, as well as delivery and setup. I even had a problem because I didn't opt for the extra space between bunk beds (which is a must), and they were great at sending people to convert what I had into giving me more space. I literally have nothing bad to say about my experience.

Terrific experience from start to finish. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Responsive purchasing process, timely delivery and set up, and most important, an incredibly solid, functional bed (unlike many of the less expensive but far less sturdy alternatives we looked at). Can't say enough good things about the bed or the customer experience.

Great craftsmanship and delivered on time. The bunkbed is big and sturdy enough for all 4 of our kids to sit on. The color is unique. We are thrilled with our purchase.

Maine Bunk Beds is an excellent company. We love the beds, they are beautiful and we'll made. We have a custom triple bunk and it is extremely sturdy for my 3 boys who are 100-200lbs. Everything from the customer service to the professional assembly everything was prompt and we'll done. I would highly recommend this company.

Like many people we were looking for high quality, sturdy bunk beds that can grow with our children. After looking around at numerous well respected furniture stores, we realized that nothing being sold was really worth the money that was being charged; wood was low quality, craftsmanship was nonexistent and the hardware used to secure it all looked/felt flimsy. Searching the web for an alternative, we found Maine Bunk Beds and fell in love with their products. Customer service is second to none, Brian Hanson responded to our emails and phone calls within minutes. He walked us through the ordering and helped us choose the right options…no pressure, no gimmicks. The price for a high quality, locally made/custom painted bed was very similar in price to the mass produced made in China items...the difference in quality however was night and day. We picked our bed up at the factory. Brian helped us wrap all the parts and load it into my truck for transport. The entire team at the shop was very friendly and extremely inviting. Lastly, and probably most important. The kids love the bunk beds. I will be recommending Maine Bunk Beds to everyone I know.
