I am a designer. I do a lot staging for new condo buildings. My recent experience with Modloft has been nothing short of a nightmare. I purchased a table that cost over $5,000, and the entire process, from delivery to customer service, was utterly disappointing.
When the table arrived, it was evident that the shipping process had been inappropriate and reckless. The table was severely damaged upon opening the box. It was not just a minor scratch; it was significant, rendering the table unusable and unsightly.
I contacted their customer service to address the issue and requested a refund or an exchange. However, I was met with stubborn resistance and complete refusal. The lack of cooperation and refusal to make amends was beyond frustrating.
What adds insult to injury is the complete absence of any apologies from Modloft. It is astonishing that they can treat customers who have invested so much in their products with such disregard and indifference.

Terrible experience buying from this store. Completely unresponsive to get order status, argumentative on the phone when I did reach them and zero follow-up. And when I finally received my order 1 month later than promised, it was all scratched up. I made a big mistake buying from this company. Definitely recommend avoiding.

I am going to just leave my experience here and let you decide if you want to do business with them:
BED
Before I ordered our Worth Bed, I reached out to see if it could be held because we didn't have our address yet but I knew I wanted it. They said "yes" and they would reach out to logistics and hold it until we were ready. A little over a week later it shipped and since our relocation was pushed, we have to accept the bed, put it in a Uhaul, and move it ourselves (It was over 300 pounds). They DIDN'T offer to refund the "white glove delivery at the time".
TABLE
We ordered a dining room table that was in stock and said would ship between 10/17 and 10/25. After 4 weeks, I asked for an update on shipping to the local delivery and they said it would be the next week. It didn't ship the next week so I followed up and asked to cancel at that point. It had been 5 weeks for an order in stock. They said it was because we lived in a place they don't deliver to often. Los Angeles - we live in Los Angeles............. Delivery estimate then turned into 12 weeks later and I cancelled. They charged a $600 restock fee for something that was never shipped or stocked at all. They also refused to refund the white glove fee for the bed and said the carrier said I refused it. Even though I had proof of the conversation where they shipped too early.
I'm not an expert, but in total, that is $700 they made via fake claims and fraud.
You decide if you want to buy from them after that.

Bought a Berkeley table approximately 2 years ago. The tempered glass top on my table spontaneously shattered one evening when we were away. After further investigation, we discovered the glass top was siliconed down to the wood table top by at least an entire tube of silicone (see pictures below). Because the glass is fixed so rigidly to the table top, as the wood expands and contracts it caused the glass to shatter. I spent the next days cleaning shattered glass from my house and cutting my hands and head in the process. Modloft’s customer service was horrific. They refused to apologize, accused me of damaging the table and lying about it, and refusing to answer my questions on how I could get the top replaced. Avoid Modloft and their incredibly dangerous products.

I purchased a dining table with glass top from modloft. The table arrived damage. Within 1 year the entire glass scratched deeply. Modloft is refusing to fix or replace. They claim the item is discontinued. They do not stand by their own products.

I purchased 3 countertop-height bar stools from Modloft last year and paid almost $800 a piece for each. At this price point you would think these chairs are of high quality , but you would be wrong. Less than a year after they look like they are 10 years old, because the backs of the chairs which are made of a wood veneer easily scratch against any hard surface and looked scratched up now (and a counter top which these chairs are supposed to be next to is always a hard surface). I reached out to the retailer I bought these from and they filed a warranty claim to Modloft only for them to come back and say that it is my fault and that the chairs are "too close to counter top". I video was provided to them with the chair almost a foot away from the counter top, but when rotated would still come in contact with the countertop and damage the back of the chair. There isn't a distance you can place these at which would be both comfortable to sit and eat or drink and avoid contact with the back of the chairs if they rotated with the countertop. Even despite being clearly a manufacturing and testing defect of these chairs Modloft came back with "well other customers don't have this problem, so it's your fault"-warrantly claim denied. Absolutely ridiculous company and response that doesn't stand behind their product quality issues - avoid their garbage furniture at all costs

I am a designer and have the worst customer service I have ever encountered in all my years. They delivered a damaged piece and are now refusing to refund or replace. Do not EVER do business with MODLOFT.

We purchased a Blue Velvet Sofa Set with an Ottoman 9 months ago and the ottoman is already breaking down. It started just a few months after we purchased it. I contacted the company and sent pictures showing the indention on the ottoman and I was told "The quality control department has advised this is a normal behavior of this piece when placing pressure or weigh over it". Obviously when you sit on a couch it will depress with your body weight, that is not the problem. I was then told "We definitely understand. However, this doesn't affect the performance of the sofa, all sofas get less firm with time and use. Unfortunately this isn't something that can be repaired or replaced as this sofa is currently discontinued and no longer available.". The sofa set is beautiful and we love it, however, when you purchase a sofa you expect it to last MUCH longer then 9 months before it starts to breakdown with use. I would NOT recommend purchasing from this company due to the lack of warranty on their products.

This the same quality as any Ikea type flat pack with maybe better colored laminate. The MDF broke to pieces just positioning them. Delivery was a months long logistical CF that I would not wish on my enemy. Steer clear of anything on this site.

I ordered a bed and they charged me immediately upon placing the order, even though they said not until it ships. Later they told me they sent the paperwork to the warehouse so that constituted shipping. They then tell me it may take another month to process and actually leave the warehouse for my location. I've never heard of a store that charges for products for shipment 2 months later. I asked them to to be flexible and rebill when the product is ready to ship, they told me it is their store policy to never bill when a product is actually ready for shipment and would not change anything or support the customer in any way. They haven't cancelled my order so I had to dispute the credit card charge.

Modloft as a company is dishonest about product availability and shipping times. You are better off working with a more reputable company that is trustworthy with the information they give to customers. Modloft will bait you with “product in stock and ready to ship” messaging, and then not ship your item for many weeks or months. I placed orders for large furniture items from Room and Bord, West Elm, Crate and Barrel, CB2, and Article AFTER I placed the order from Modloft, and I received those items weeks ago and within the window of time they specified. Modloft’s delivery window will shift ever time you approach the estimate and you will be waiting forever without the ability to use the furniture you already spent thousands on. When you reach out to customer service, they blame a carrier and just agree that it’s delayed. I expect support to help remedy the situation, not just say sorry. This is what they sent me: “Seems the carrier is having some transit delays I'm afraid.”
