“This was a very complex job. It involved removal of a failed cinder block retaining wall, discarding debris, leveling very uneven property to make a useful hard scape area and the addition of a second retaining wall. The owner, Butch Kilgore came to our home and worked up an estimate and gave a projected start date and finish time frame. They began with the removal of the faulty retaining wall which was approximately 23 feet long and 8 feet tall. Sixteen tons of gravel and clean fill dirt were added to the back yard to support the infrastructure of the second retaining wall 90 feet long and 6 feet tall. All of the downspouts were reengineered to ensure that water collection was satisfactory to eliminate land erosion. Again, plenty of gravel and drainage were added to the retaining walls to accomplish the same. Overall, working with Grass Source, Inc. was just a fantastic experience. They are a very responsive and caring company. As an over the top extra, 70 bales of pine straw were added to our landscaping to improve the look.
At the end of this project, we were about 10% over budget but again this was a very complex job we had trees removed, arborvitae's added as well as 15 plants in a decorative pattern. The back wall included nine steps to the lower portion of our backyard as well as two steps to the side of our house.
We took photos of the day to day progress from beginning to end and compiled them all into a video that we share with anyone interested to watch the transformation.”
