“JKL Development/Jeff Lewis completed a renovation for us in May 2026. It included complete renovation of the kitchen, pantry and guest bath, new flooring throughout the house, new paint throughout, and new vanity in the master bath. Our house was built in 2003 and had a peninsula with breakfast bar in the kitchen where the sink was located and a small corner walk-in pantry. A room next to the kitchen was built as a dining room. The guest bath had a very basic builder-grade plastic one-piece tub with shower. Both baths had the old low vanities. Even though we’re short, they were too low even for us. We had the entire kitchen redesigned, removing the pantry and peninsula, and adding a large island. The sink is in the island, and the floor had to be trenched to move the plumbing to the new location, about 4 feet away. If you want a sink in a different location, don’t let anyone tell you that plumbing can’t be moved with a post-tension slab foundation. It can be done. Base and upper cabinets are in the corner where the pantry used to be, and that really opened up the kitchen. Pantry cabinets with roll-out drawers are now in the dining room. The kitchen and pantry area are so much more functional now, with plenty of storage and counter space. The guest bath now has a beautiful walk-in shower with barn-style glass and quartz panel walls, no tub, and a new higher vanity. The master bath vanity is higher than the old one, but not quite as high as the current standard. It’s perfect for my 5’2” height. Try to have a good idea of what you want before you sign a contract. Jeff uses the vendors for cabinets, countertops, flooring and fixtures as stand-ins for a designer. Don’t expect any of them to hold your hand throughout the process, but they are available to assist and answer questions. Jeff will provide a solid project estimate based on your choices, so the longer it takes for you to choose all the components, the longer it will take to get an estimate and a contract. Jeff seems to try to steer you to some standard concept that he apparently uses often. If that isn’t what you want, don’t hesitate to push back. Jeff may give you a hard time about it, but he’ll then give in and tell you that you can have whatever you want. The subcontractors were, for the most part, very skilled and careful about the quality of the work. Jeff visits frequently to check on progress, but it helps if you can also visit often. We are very happy with the end result and the quality. I do wish there had been a designer available to help us choose all the components and colors. It also would have reduced our stress level considerably since we felt rushed to make choices and weren’t completely confident that everything would look good together. We're happy with our selections, but I think we could have had a more interesting final result with some professional help.”
