“We had an excellent experience working with Astoria Construction on a major bathroom project in our home. The scope included a complete renovation of our existing primary bathroom as well as the addition of a brand-new half bathroom with a sink, toilet, and cabinetry. From the beginning, we had a fairly aggressive timeline, and they delivered a high-quality finished project while staying within the schedule we needed. Communication throughout the project was one of their biggest strengths. We always knew when they would be at the house, where things stood, what was coming next, and what materials would be needed and when. That made a major difference for us, not only for coordinating our own schedules, but also because we were able to procure materials as the project progressed rather than having everything delivered and stored at once. The quality of the work was excellent, and that extended to the trades Astoria brought into the project. With the addition of a new half bathroom and the extensive work in the primary bathroom, the project required coordination across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, cabinetry, and other trades. Everyone they brought into our home was professional, respectful, and clearly held to the same standards for quality and timeliness. Our project also included design work, which added another layer of complexity given the condensed timeline. At times, design and construction were happening in parallel, with trades needing drawings and decisions quickly to keep the project moving. The Astoria team coordinated extremely well across everyone involved and made sure the necessary information was available without allowing those dependencies to derail the schedule. Most importantly, throughout the project, they earned our trust. They were hardworking, dependable, transparent, and clearly cared about the quality of the finished product. Having people in your home every day for an extended construction project requires a lot of trust, and we always felt completely comfortable with the Astoria team. “Literally, the hardest part of the project was finding the correct contractor. After several no shows, no return calls/visits, and lack of overall professionalism, we met with Beshoy Yousef, owner of Parthy Construction. He came out for a lengthy site visit, listened to our ideas, took notes and pictures, and provided us with a detailed estimate, which we accepted after a couple of back and forth line item discussions. Beshoy assisted in securing for us an architect and helped with a needed zoning variance. We broke ground in June 2025 on an 18’x20’ additional bedroom. Start to finish was a little over three months. They handled all the permitting and inspections. Our main project manager, Mina, was excellent, as was his sidekick Mark. He kept us posted as to what the current and next activities were, and worked with us on a plethora of decisions which needed to be made every week. He offered numerous ideas along the way which we hadn’t thought of. Michele (the lady that holds everything together in the office) was great at getting the invoices out on time. All subcontractors were timely, professional, reasonably clean (construction is rarely “clean”), and did excellent work. All the work was done while we continued to live in the house. We did re-home the cat and bird for several weeks during the worst of it. The finished product exceeded our expectations and wows our friends. From the outside, the in-line addition’s concrete block walls, windows, roofing, soffits and fascia, paint, all give the look that it’s always been part of the house. There were a number of necessary items outside the contract which we had to purchase out of pocket. While they kept completely within their budget, the non-contract items (specific windows, doors, paint, flooring, trim, etc) ran us an additional 15%-20%. Are we happy with their finished product? Absolutely. Would we use them again? Absolutely. Do we recommend them? Absolutely!”
