It's been about 2 years since Adlich completed my kitchen renovation and deck replacement in my 1905 Fan home, and I'm still in love with it. Alia and Whitney guided me through the process of choosing the many items needed for the renovation. Every week, the three of us met to go over the process, discuss the next steps, answer questions, etc. Every evening, Whitney sent me an email stating who would be working and what they would be doing. They handled all subcontractors, and very importantly, they were here every day, 5 days a week. Their work is impeccable, communication superb, excellence showed in every aspect. If I do more in the future, I want Adlich! Thank you Alia, Brandon, Jamie, and Whitney--you're the best!

Bathroom Remodel Gone Bad Signed an agreement with Timber Creek Construction, LLC, owned by Lee Payne, in May 2022 for a complete remodeling of our master bathroom. Work began in October 2022 for a project that Timber Creek Construction proposed as a 10-week project. Fast forward 12 months later, and our bathroom was not close to being complete. We had no plumbing fixtures, no electrical fixtures, incomplete tile, no doors, significant trim issues, a subpar paint job that Timber Creek employees told us “…was beyond unacceptable”, and a complete mess of our Master Bedroom, Master Closet, and additional bedroom (where we thought we were temporarily storing our belongings) that needed extensive cleaning, to name just a few of the issues. This project contained poor project management, poor workmanship, no quality assurance on work that was completed, no adherence to provided schedules, and up charges on selection items that were neither contained in the agreed proposal nor indicated to us prior to signing the agreement. The emotional trauma and physical health issues this caused us are beyond comprehension. We lived in complete chaos for a year with no completion in sight. It became very clear that Timber Creek was in over their head with this project and underestimated effort and the cost to complete it, as had been discussed many times prior to the work starting. We were left with no other option than to cease working with Timber Creek and pursue other means of completion, at a cost that was significantly more expensive than anything we had anticipated and proposed by Timber Creek. This was the worse construction/remodeling job we ever experienced.

New roof in 2022. This past spring we found multiple nail pops and had to deal with 3 roof leaks . Repairs made by the company were completed. These repairs came at the cost of time off from work, unnecessary stress, and ensuring they were done correctly. I DO NOT recommend this company for your roofing needs.

I was horrified and lost faith in humanity after a recent experience that my family and I had with this company. I contacted VA Building & Remodeling recently regarding a renovation and addition to my parents house to make it accessible for my little sister, who became paralyzed several months ago. Shane and Karen came over to take a look at the house in April, and we had a good conversation although there was a pronounced lack of focus. We discussed building an approximately 100 sq ft addition to the house that could be used specially for my sister and her son since she is currently sleeping in the dining room, and remodeling the bathroom next to it to accommodate a wheelchair. There was some damage to the roof as well that had to be repaired. For these issues, they quoted an absurd price of $150,000. Since we desperately need the work done, we discussed the project further. Shane balked when we discussed a payment arrangement since the estimate came in 50% over the budget we had discussed, and he had been aware of. When we came to an impasse for funding the addition, we briefly discussed proceeding with just the roof, bathroom and hallway remodel. When I mentioned our original budget, Shane told me, verbatim, that the $100,000 project "wasn't worth it" for him because he was "having a banner year". The project, as a reminder, was to make my parents house-- both on social security-- more accessible for my paraplegic little sister and her four year old son. On principles of ethics and basic humanity, I would avoid this company at all costs. I understand they're not running a charity, but to be so dismissive, inflexible and inhumane as Shane treated this project and my family is inexcusable. If you're as outraged as I was about this situation, show them the only place it seems to matter-- their company checking account, and take your business elsewhere.

We had them work on an addition to our house. Adding a new floor. Doug Lewis is extremely unprofessional! Did not finish the job. Many mistakes were made and there was no sense of urgency to fix them or empathy towards us especially when one of the mistakes was on the roof which ended up flooding the house and making us move out for months. In addition, Doug Lewis does not pay his subcontractors on time, if at all. To a point that one of them took a lean out on our house and threatened to sue if they didn’t get paid. We had to pay them out of our pocket even though we had already paid Doug Lewis for these services. Do yourself a favor and find someone else to do the job.

We built our first custom house with Perkinson Homes. It was an extremely rewarding process. From start to finish they were consummate professionals. From design all the way through construction they involved us in every step and communicated with us the entire time. Our project manager, Jody, was absolutely amazing. They delivered us a beautiful new home and we would work with them again no questions asked.

Kit did an amazing job completely remodeling our kitchen in a 1950’s home. He came up with creative solutions, was very professional and worked within our budget. When we had an issue with the cabinets we ordered from Lowe’s, he handled it personally and made sure we were satisfied. I’d definitely recommend him for your upcoming renovations!

Stony Point Construction Co, (Larry Yancey) were the very best to deal with. Mr. Yancey presented a very professional Construction Agreement and it was very clear that he had listened to what we had told him we wanted when the project was completed, unlike several other contractors we had bid on the job. The project was started on time and completed on time and all with-in the budget he had proposed, even a bit less than expected. All workers were professional, polite and cleaned up the construction area each day and made sure they limited the construction dust was keep to a minimum in the rest of the house, all carpeted areas were protected appropriately. If we ever have another major project Stony Point Construction will be the company we will call.
