“J&C Contractors did an extensive renovation of our kitchen, laundry, and powder room. It was a total “to the studs” (& beyond) project, and John and his team were fantastic to work with. This project involved multiple structural changes, as we moved load-bearing walls and pushed out an exterior wall to add square footage to the space, plus HVAC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, siding, windows, tiling, hardwoord flooring, cabinets and custom carpentry, painting, etc. We especially appreciated how John and Marcos would talk through options with us. They always gave us clear choices with an understanding of how they would impact pricing and timelines. We also really appreciated their flexibility when we decided to push out the exterior wall, which was a change to the original scope. John worked hard to get the engineer and city back quickly to approve the permit revision, and also was strategic about what work continued while we waited for that to ensure we weren’t taking on unnecessary risk. The attention to detail is another thing the J&C team does exceptionally well – we had custom cabinets with a really complicated façade to cover a soffit, and the team didn’t think the original plan looked good enough, so they basically built an extra piece from scratch to make the entire thing look seamless. For our window installation, Marcos came up with a brilliant idea for how to frame the window using the same stone slab as our backsplash and it’s truly one of my favorite features. Also, I realize it seems like a given, but based on many other renovations we’ve seen, the fact that everything is perfectly level and centered is huge (even the cabinet drawer faces all line up exactly!). Finally, the team did a fantastic job keeping the area as clean as possible. This was critical as we chose to live in our house during the renovation. They would regularly inspect the plastic walls and make sure things were sealed well, plus they cleaned up after themselves every day and when the project was completed. Really fantastic experience, and we’ll be hiring J&C for any future projects!”

“We hired The Alhadeff Group to do an update of our home, which included interior lighting throughout, refinishing the kitchen/family room floors, new custom cabinets in the kitchen & master bath, installing slab granite in the kitchen, slab granite in the powder room and slab marble in the master bath, as well as replacing bathroom floors with new tile. They also completely redid the stall shower in the master bath, removing the old tile, replacing the pan, and installing new tile & adding 2 corner type shelves in the shower using pieces of marble cut from the slab for the vanity. The shower was completed with walls of unframed glass. It's beautiful and works perfectly, with no water coming through where the unframed door closes, which had been a concern for us. They also did a considerable amount of drywall patching & replacement on some walls & ceilings. Some of this had been repaired previously, but we could always see where the patches had been made. This time, the repairs are perfect! They really know what they are doing, and the results are fabulous. They installed crown molding & new baseboard molding throughout, replaced existing interior doors with 2 panel painted doors & added trim around all doorways, and painted. . I am very detail oriented & instead of getting irritated with me when I pointed out some tiny little flaw that probably no one else would have noticed, they made the corrections with a smile. One thing that was really important to us was that these guys were all really nice & had a great work ethic. If they said they were coming at a given time, they arrived within minutes of that time or they called to let me know they were running late. We felt very safe & comfortable having them around. Sam, the company owner, had assured me that all the men were known to him, were honest & trustworthy & that we would not need to worry about issues of that nature. They were everything he said they would be, and more. They had great senses of humor, & even put up with the cat, who is not fond of strangers. This project lasted several months, & by the time they completed it, the cat was completely at home with them. This was a large project. Sam wanted us to move out for it, but we really could not do that for a variety of reasons. That was the only real problem with the remodel. Because it was so extensive and going on in so many different rooms, we were in constant chaos. We ended up not doing several bedrooms & another bathroom because it became too overwhelming. Now, two months since the completion of the work they performed, we are ready to have the remainder of the house completed. There is no question that we will use The Alhadeff Group to complete the job. Everything they did shows attention to detail & outstanding work quality. We would not even consider using another company”
