Alair Homes Calgary

I have worked with this builder on a few projects, designing new high end homes. Their work is high quality, and they know how to treat both the client and their employees. They have also completed a number of renovations, and again they make sure the job is done right the first time. I have no hesitation to recommend them to anyone.

As an architecture professional, working with Alair homes has been an excellent and exciting experience. They strive to create the perfect relationship with clients, as well as the greatest transparency and cost efficiency through their unique project management structure. As a design firm, we have found the best collaborative process and pro-active attitude from Alair, which greatly helps us to see our vision materialized.

We couldn't be happier with our entire experience of working with Alair Calgary on our renovation in Lake Bonavista. Leigh, Dustin and Jesse are genuinely good guys who have a serious passion for what they do and care deeply about their customers. I think I went in with an expectation that anyone who does this kind of thing day in and day out should be able to provide good, professional results, and they definitely delivered that. What I wasn't so sure about was what to expect for transparency, updates and general management of the project, and this is where they really surpassed my expectations! Not only is Alair extremely organized, with a web portal for managing project budget and timelines and a clear approval process for all costs, but our project manager, Jesse, was on top of everything and kept the project rolling along smoothly. Jesse never let us get to the point where we were guessing about anything because he did such a great job of keeping us updated. Really great guy, can't recommend him enough! Our reno was extensive. They practically rebuilt the whole house, and we did go way beyond our initial budget, but we knew every step of that way that it was 90% a result of us asking for more, with only a fraction related to unforeseen costs (eg: asbestos in the popcorn ceiling). Their process and their software made the whole thing totally transparent, so there were no surprises. If you expect to keep adding to the scope and keep the same budget you're a fool and will be disappointed no matter who you hire. Bottom line: these guys are awesome, and I'd recommend them to anybody. In fact, I already recommended them to my own brother, and they are right now renovating his home in Wildwood. This review is about Alair, but I also need to give a shout-out to Tamara Dubiel of Collaborative Design who was brought in by Leigh to help with the layout and selections. She was really great to work with and we love what she did with the house.

I have been blessed to know and work with the team at Alair Homes. Their management are extremely personable, approachable, and professional, and their work is beautiful. Their pricing model is also unique and very transparent. I absolutely recommend Alair and I always look forward to working with them.

When we received posession on our home this summer we interviewed many contractors to renovate the top two floors. My husband (an architect) and myself like a contemporary style and we found it hard to find someone who spoke our "language", someone who completely understood where we wanted to take this house. Our house backs onto a lake which we wanted to showcase as well. Alair came in and we instantly just knew these would be our guys. Over the past three months Alair has been nothing but outstanding. We are so very happy with the service they have given us and the quality contractors they have brought through the house. They have dealt with our changes and our over the top perfectionism with always a smile on their faces. Leigh Reid, our project manager, has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He has taken our concerns to heart and can always see our "vision". His positivity is such a breath of fresh air and pushed us and his crew in healthy ways to achieve the best house possible. Alair, also, did some of the trickier work themselves. Dustin (Alair) did our fireplace cabinetry and our bulkhead over the island. His work is will be the showcase of the house. Also, their site manager, Luke, is courtesy and always leaves the site clean at the end of the day. We are now at the end of our Reno and are blown away by how amazing it looks and the quality of work from all trades is to be commended. Alair only uses the best! I am sad to see the Alair team leave as they have become part of our family. This couldn't be any happier of a customer! Thank you Alair!

Constructed and addition to an existing residence approximately 1200 square feet. Their approach and responsiveness throughout the process was commendable. Communication was excellent, trades were well controlled and importantly the project came in on time and budget. I would certainly recommend them.
