Anden Design Build

These guys completed our basement for us in 2014. It was a modern basement that flowed with the rest of the house. It was complete with built in media wall, full bathroom, extra bedroom and very cute under the stairs playhouse. We loved working with them. We have used another renovation company in the area and by very far, Anden stood out as the best. Why? They are seriously organized. They respond to emails or phone calls very quickly. The people that came into our home were friendly, skilled and professional. They are honest. They understand the vision of what we wanted. They did the best work. The came when they said they would. They finished on the time they said they would. It was awesome. If we do anything else, we are calling them. Period.

Anden designed and built a beautiful front porch and mudroom on our century home. The folks at Anden were consistently respectful, professional, honest and hard working. We were so happy with the workmanship and service that we will be hiring them again to build an addition on our home, and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

As soon as we met Marcus Plowright of Anden Const we knew we had found the right person to create an Art Studio in our unfinished basement. The work proceeded very well from day 1. The crew worked very well and each stage was well coordinated and the construction was finished on schedule (5 weeks). The workers were all very cordial and always ready to make everything look easy taking care not to damage existing walls, stairs, etc. Now my husband is very proud to have a bright and functional studio with so many extra features where he can proceed with his hobby. We contracted Anden to complete a kitchen renovation for us in 2011. Two years in and we still love our kitchen. The team worked with us to ensure that the result exceeded our expectation. We were most impressed that the initial work schedule that we received was complete and accurate. Anden worked to redesign and renovate a recreational facility. They were excellent to work with. As a volunteer at a member owned facility it is always difficult to please so many "bosses" -The crew from Anden were very professional and listened to all concerned members - respecting the various points of view and requests. They were exceptional at interacting with the membership and continuing to provide updates and access enabling members to see the progress. This was a time senstive project which they were able to complete mostly on time. As with any major renovation projet they ran into some structural and budget issues that were dealth with in a very professional way - always respecting the "customer" members concerns. The quality of the work was excellent. The end product " a new Club" is now more competitvie in the market place. Marcus and his team was extremely helpful throughout the project - delivering a quality renovatation project and suggesting upgrades that were appropriate and within the budget requirements. We hired Anden to finish our basement and were impressed with their service right from the outset. They offered very professional design services and different ideas to consider. We were unsure of exactly what we were looking for and Marcus offered a number of different suggestions. When the work started, the various contractors were very diligent and courteous. When we had questions, they were addressed in a timely manner. The job was completed well within the timeframe that we were expecting and our feeling was certainly that it was a quality job. The workers definitely displayed pride in the work that they were doing. We would not hesitate to hire Anden again and have recommended their services to several of our friends and neighbours.

Marcus and his team built an office in our basement. They were professional, fast and on budget. Marcus came up with an excellent plan that fit our needs, the space and what we could afford.

Marcus was exceptionally patient with us during the design and contract negotiation phase our basement renovation project, so that when the first of his team arrived to start work we knew that the result was going to be what we wanted. Jason was a great job foreman, responding immediately to any concern that we had. He kept on top of the tradespeople and their work and for the most part their work was well done. We only had a few issues with the HVAC people, but Jason made sure that we were satisfied in the end. We are very pleased with the results and have had nothing but complements from all who have seen the final result!

We wanted to do an addition to our home to enlarge the living room, add a bedroom, 2 bathrooms and finish the basement. Marcus assisted us in working with a designer to come up with a workable plan and offered many creative solutions that were cost effective in creating an open layout in the basement. Unfortunatly our tastes were too expensive and the cost for completing this renovation were beyond our budget. We had 3 competitive bids and Anden was very comparable in cost and gave us the highest level of confidence. We have seen their work previously and were pleased with the results. Ultimatly we decided to act as our own general contractor, which I have to admit was much more work than I had anticipated. I would not recommend going it alone if you can avoid it. We appreciate all the assistance that Anden provided in the early stages and have recommended this company to a number of people.

This recommendation was unsolicited by Marcus or anyone at Anden. I simply felt compelled to write about the work himself and his team performed at my home. My wife and I knew we wanted to either renovate our home or look at moving but from a reno perspective were not sure where to start. Marcus listened to our needs (with tremendous patience) provided some structure to our thoughts and eventually came up with a recommendation on how we could function and live better in our home. When we had finally agreed on everything and gave Anden the 'go' he gave us a date we could expect completion and he hit it with no unexpected costs. From concept to design to implementation Marcus and Anden are a rare find in the renovator world. Great listener, Great advisor, On time, On budget. We love our renovation and it allowed us to stay in our home (vs moving).

I am a Real Estate Broker and have worked with Anden on several occasions to assist in the estimation and completion of leasehold improvements in commercial properties. Successful leases often hinge the cost of proposed construction improvements to the interior and exterior of the space by prospective Tenants. The scope of such improvements are often a moving target and the estimation of cost and delivery of conceptual/as built drawings is always demanded in a timely manner. Anden is able to work with Landlords and Tenants in order to complete these tasks in an efficient and professional manner in order to put the deal together. I would not hesitate to recommend Anden for any commercial or residential construction project no matter the size or scope.
