Anderson & Rodgers was our general contractor for a whole house remodel. They listened to our dreams and shared some of their ideas and suggestions. Together we developed a plan that they saw it through to a timely completion. The staff are professional, easy to work with, and are always available. Their experience and insights made everything from initial planning to product selection easy. We especially like our kitchen. We were able to find cabinets and reclaimed wood to create the look we wanted. We love our "new" house and would absolutely recommend Anderson & Rodgers Construction.

Our home was built between February and June 2017 at a cost of $249,500. The project was completed exactly as quoted; on time and at cost. The quality of work was beyond all expectations. We expected to have at least some of the normal problems people complain about when building a home. We had NO problems. Supervision was on the site every time he said he would. The various trades where always on site on time and did excellent quality work. They included extras things at no cost to make life easier for me in a wheelchair such as a built in desk, extra light switches and an upper and lower clothes rod in my closet. If I ever need more work done I will use no one else.

We work in the real estate industry and know a lot of fabulous contractors in this area, but when we decided to renovate our garage into a carriage house for guests, we went with Anderson & Rodgers. Teddy Rodgers spearheaded the project and used top-quality subcontractors who were fast and efficient, while providing quality work. We can't say enough positive things about Anderson & Rodgers. Teddy answered the phone when we called, he delivered when he said he would and the final product is amazing. We are so happy with his work and would recommend him time and again to our friends and clients.

Our renovation with A&R affected every room of our farmhouse and was done in five months including installing an unexpected 30 ft I-beam, restoring and adding hardwood floors, removing a sunken living room, total kitchen overhaul and total master bathroom overhaul. We met Teddy once during our first consult and estimate. Michaela's designs helped us nail down specifics before demo began. Lars saw us through every step of the process with professionalism and excellent communication. He knew when to fight our battles with us and when to advise us to "let it go". There are things that came up that were unfortunate: it's a wonky 100 year old house, as it settles a wall here or there isn't totally flush, the budget grew as we discovered problems that needed to be fixed, and the whole renovation was just plain expensive (aka stressful). But we have realized these weren't problems with A&R as much as with any major renovation (it's not quite like on TV!). We had much more pros than cons with our experience with A&R and always recommend them to others (and will consider them for future projects).

Our basement was remodeled by Anderson & Rodgers and we could not be happier. Work was completed right on schedule with no surprises on pricing. Overall just a great experience.

After purchasing a 1960s dated ranch in a new town, our family elected to do a full first-floor remodel, which included updating two and half bathrooms, complete kitchen renovation and opening up the existing floor plan, as well as a master suite addition. We evaluated several floor plans and contractors over a six-month period, and ultimately chose Anderson & Rodgers. Our family lived in the finished basement during the project, and my husband worked from home, so it was imperative that we chose a dependable partner that worked with trusted subs and would get us back above ground in a timely fashion. Teddy was our main contact upfront. He was professional and thorough, and worked closely with us to determine the best plan to meet our living needs (family of four), and to keep us within a set budget. He was extremely responsive during initial planning when we had a lot of questions and made several in-person visits and calls. The one area of the project that drove some frustration was budgeting for the design elements. This was our first major renovation our family has undergone, and while the scope was outlined and agreed upon, there were still 'unforeseens' that resulted in gray area. Because we elected to do such an extensive remodel, there were a lot of selects that we had to make and submit back to A&R. The cost around these items were not always clear due to vendor discounts and markups, and it made it very challenging to keep within a budget, or know if we were keeping within budget at times. A&R is very detail oriented and did work to make sure all project elements were accounted for upfront, but we learned learned that, as the client, it's important to have a good understanding of what materials you are interested in and quantities you will need versus approving a lump sum for 'bathroom tile,' as an example. We learned to also make sure the specific details of products selected were clearly defined in the scope. It will take time to shop for all the materials, but worth it before agreeing on scope costs. Communication is key and A&R knows that, too. We received a weekly update email on what work was completed and what to expect for the week to come, which we found to be very helpful. During the project the site supervisor appointed to our job was also stellar. He and the team treated our project as if it were their own home project, and managed the sub-contractors flawlessly. Our site supervisor was at our home regularly, ensuring that the work was being completed to our standards and his-and if not, he would call workers back to correct. If there were issues on the back-end we were unaware most of the time. The subs that worked on our project were also great, hardworking and very talented. The tile in the kitchen and bathrooms turned out amazing, the plumber and electrician were top notch, the hardwood flooring, comprised of existing and some new hardwood, made the house shine, and the fresh paint and trim looks amazing. I could go on. :) Such great workmanship and pride. The team completed our project in under four months and every week we could see the progress. We have now been living in our home for a little over a month and love it. The master bathroom feels like an escape, the refinished hardwood floors are gorgeous and the kitchen inspires the non-cooker in me to want to cook. We love our new home. It's stunning.

Anderson and Rodgers installed a decorative glass front door, repaired the rotten wood around some of our windows and door frames, and painted the exterior of the house. All of the workmen were very professional and helpful. Teddy was especially helpful in finding a front door that would fit the irregular size of my door opening.

It is as much a pleasure to write a review of our remodel experience with Anderson and Rodgers as it was to work with them. We remodeled half of our existing ranch home space which included the remodel of all bathrooms, in addition to new construction including two new bedroom spaces and a covered front awning. Throughout the various phases of our project from planning and budgeting, to demo, construction, and finishing, our experience with Anderson and Rodgers was outstanding. They worked on our timeline and helped us to build a budget and scope consistent with our vision, our values, and our desired expense. Scott Nelson and Lars Lyman are examples of best practice in both their dealings with clients and their knowledge and execution of industry standards. They worked to accomplish our multitude of goals which involved a balance of maximizing the function of the spaces we had while adding as much character as possible. Those representing Anderson and Rodgers within their specific areas of trade and expertise were professional and trustworthy, with certain individuals, such as our framer, proving to be nothing short of exceptional. Our crews reliably worked full days to the amazement of our neighbors who regularly commented on their work ethic. Our four-month timeline AND our budget were both maintained and without pressure on us to hurry any decisions we were not ready to make. As with any project, hiccups occur. It would be unreasonable to think they wouldn’t in projects of this size. When the few did occur, Anderson and Rodgers handled them upfront, with urgency, and transparency. And now as we resolve two small conditions post-project, Anderson and Rodgers continues to address our concerns with the same priority as when our project was ongoing. There are certainly varying levels of service that you can seek, and with any service, you are likely to find competitive and compelling bids. However, I encourage anyone going through a remodel to consider the intangibles that will make a lasting difference in the scope of their project and the lasting outcome that is their home. It is a satisfying feeling to be on the other side of our project and to know what planning and craftsmanship went into it. Our renovation with Anderson and Rodgers now “lives” just as we had hoped.

James was our project manager. He did a great job ensuring the project was completed as agreed. The subcontractors Anderson & Rodgers work with are very good. This is my 3rd home remodel in 3 years, and they are one of the best contractors we've worked with. We had our master bathroom completely redone, painted 2,000 sq. ft. from the ceilings to the baseboards, removed large arches and posts in the living room, added crown molding to the kitchen, opened a wall area in the kitchen, reconfigured the bookshelves in the family room, wall papered two rooms and designed a new laundry room. James completed the actual design of the laundry room based on my wants/needs. I selected all of my paint colors and materials for the entire project. James managed most of the project while I was out of state. I would definitely hire them again. Great work!

My wife and I have used Anderson & Rodgers Construction for several jobs over the last couple of years. We live in a house that was built in the 1930s, so there are plenty of things that need work! A&R has helped us with jobs that include the following: window replacement, basement remodeling, garage door replacement, house painting, caulking, room painting, and many other small house repairs. Great experience with Anderson and Rodgers. Great customer service at every level. They predicted that the renovation would take 5 weeks and they were true to their word. Professional teams from the estimate to planning the project to protecting my home for the project to all of the crews who performed all of the actual work. They also worked to stay within my budget. I contacted Anderson & Rodgers to assist in getting my father's home ready to sell after his death. They were quick to schedule an appointment and Scott was the point man on the initial inspection. He was very professional and respectful of the condition of the home and assured me that he and his team would get the house up to spec. They repaired several issues including installing a new water heater, fixing roof leaks, and general repair of items found in poor condition prior to the sale of the home. Anderson & Rodgers did a complete bathroom remodel for us. The scope of the project included rerouting plumbing , electrical, installing of a exterior window. The finishing included marble floor, shower stall, and marble trim on the walls, with accent glass tile. The workmen ship and the attention to detail was simply outstanding. They actually completed the 1/2 bath, taking over from a prior company that left work incomplete. Without reservation, I would highly recommend Anderson & Rodgers. Scott Nelson was a true professional from start to finish. He provided many helpful ideas that allowed us to get the most functionality out of a small space. We found him very easy to work with. The other members of the Nelson Remodeling crew were quite competent and personable as well. The project consisted of completely gutting the old bathroom, installing a new toilet, bathtub, and vanity, building a new closet, and a custom line drain shower. While all the work was of very high quality, the custom tile shower stands out as a highlight - the work of a true craftsman. The pricing is quite reasonable for the quality of work that you get. He remodeled a bathroom for me and during demolition, ran into a plumbing issue. Instead of telling me that my project could not be completed as I envisioned, he worked out a solution that involved more work for him and little increase in budget for me. He suggested a different way to tile the floor of the shower then we originally planned. He then proceeded to cut tiles into strips to resemble hardwood flooring. Everyone who sees the result raves about it. He stands behind his work and will resolve any issues to your satisfaction. I would never consider hiring anyone else to do any remodeling in my home. I have currently hired Nelson Remodeling to convert a screened porch to a playroom.
