We have hired Angler for renovations to our entire home over the past 10 years. They have finished our basement, kitchen and baths. Their custom work is impeccable. They are professional, prompt and responsive. Angler also did a commercial build out for us, which was a huge undertaking. We have been extremely pleased with the people we have worked with and the products that they have produced.

My husband and I were looking to do a basement renovation. After seeing the incredible transformation Angler made to a friend's home, we started following their FB page. Soon after, we hired Angler to do our basement renovation in the fall of 2016. Working with Mike Smith and the Angler team of providers exceeded our expectations. Mike Smith was always prompt and detailed in his communication about the project. He was great about quickly answering questions, providing suggestions/options to consider, and making a home renovation project as stress free as possible. It was important to those that worked on this project for the job to be done with care and attention to detail. If any concerns arose, they were promptly addressed. Don Smith was our wonderful carpenter who was at our home everyday. We thoroughly enjoyed Don and were appreciative of the time he took each morning to update us on his progress and long range timeline. Our home and renovation area were so clean at the end of each work day, it was hard to believe it was a renovation site. We are absolutely thrilled with the transformation of our basement and love spending time there. My husband and I highly recommend Angler for any of your renovation needs. We will certainly be using them for any of our future home remodeling plans.

My husband and I hired Angler Carpentry after witnessing the incredible transformation of our neighbor’s house. From the start, Mike Smith has been amazing to work with. We gave him an unbelievable task of looking at every room in our house as our wish list grew and grew! He met with us several times, hours each time, and tailored multiple revisions of proposals until we could financially make our dreams feasible. I don’t think there would be many other contractors out there willing or able to make sense of our madness! And what I really enjoyed was the collaboration. Mike took my ideas very seriously and incorporated them into every project, but brought excellent suggestions with him, which in turn made the end product even better! To accomplish our goals, we have separated our plans into “phases”. To date, two phases are complete, along with one big surprise—a complete re-do of our roof! (uncovering past contractor’s mistakes is never fun). A new bathroom, windows, front porch, updated foyer with new custom closet, Hardie board siding, skylights with blinds, custom trim and built-in cubbies for storage galore, drywall repairs, electrical work…the list continues, but you get the idea. We are so pleased! And yes, we’ll definitely be hiring them back to work on phase 3! The Angler team has been great to work with. Everyone is responsive and kind and patient. As with any project that extends over several months (and a blizzard!), there were a few glitches along the way, and a few concerns about some of the subcontractors brought in. But here’s what I want to emphasize…all concerns were addressed immediately and all jobs were completed to our satisfaction. I have told my neighbors that I now call Mike “the house whisperer”, since he was able to calm my anxiety within 5 minutes of entering our home! A relationship you can trust is hard to find, so we’re very thankful for Angler’s commitment, quality and loyalty. We wish them well in continuing to build a great company. We had a complete kitchen remodel, and a complete over haul of our entire living area. Living room, dinning room, hallway and stairs. Complete with capping the ceilings, adding a window, moving a window, moving a wall, crown molding everywhere and tile and hard wood floors. Great group of guys, very professional. Very happy with the way everything turned out. Feels like a brand new house, couldn't be any more pleased!! We hope to have them come and do two bathroom remodels soon as well!

Pros- 1. Quick response to request for estimate. 2. Used capable plumbing sub-contractor 3. Was helpful in selections and their procurement. 4. Corrected items when requested. 5. Completed job mostly as expected. 6. Spread out payments reasonably Cons- 1. Made a mistake on time to completion estimate and did not communicate such until deadline was severely missed. 2. Did not seem to give labor credit for things originally estimated and not done because the work was not needed as estimated. 3. Project total was a little high. 4. Could improve communication as to project schedule/completion.

I could not be happier that I chose Angler Carpentry for my walk-in closet project. They are the utmost professionals. Every request was honored. From estimation to project completion, the people of Angler were perfect professionals, and very respectful. All my questions were answered promptly. The project consisted of several tall custom cabinets, 2 tall book shelf style shoe cabinets, a marble-topped island, and electrical work (including recessed lighting and a chandelier). Bryan's is a very talented carpenter. He solved problems that no one else who quoted this project could figure out (wall angles, etc.) He is a perfectionist, which led to a spectacular end product. The team worked very cleanly, so there was never a mess in my house. It was a pleasure to have them around, and I enjoyed many casual conversations with them. Thanks Angler! I love my new closet! I can't believe it's all mine!

I have used Mike and Angler carpentry for years now and I have always been satisfied with their work. The level of craftsmanship is excellent and they take pride in their work. I always rest assured that things are done right. I have used them for small, couple hundred dollars projects, and bigger, several thousands projects and no matter the job they always treat you with the same level of professionalism, and answer all the questions you have about a project. Finding a contractor you can trust can be hard, I am glad I have one I can go to that is honest and reasonably priced. I plan to continue using them as long as I am in this area.

We are a spin studio in Baltimore that needed to have barres installed in one of our studios. This was definitely a unique job for Angler Carpentry but they executed flawlessly and we are extremely pleased with the finished product. I am a local building designer who has worked with Mike and his crew in designing and drawing up a feasible design using a combination of Mike's vision, the client's and my own. He is conscientious of detail, thorough and respectful to his clients.

We have used Angler to take our unfinished basement and turn it into a functional space for my sister to live in while going through school. Their price was mid-range (we were quoted everything from $15k to $39k) and the quality of service exceeded our expectations. We have gotten burned by contractors in the past so our guard was initially up but they arrived every day they said they would at the time they said they would. I never had to call to find out where they were and even their subcontractors showed up when we expected them to. If there was ever a deviation from the schedule, Mike would call us immediately to see what worked best for us. Because of my job, I am leary of having folks in our house unattended but Mike is very picky about who he has on his team and we felt at ease having them in our house and never worried about having the Angler team over. The quality of the work was also far and above what we were hoping for. We told them our "musts" to include a full bath, lots of storage space and overall nice living area for my sister while she attended school and later we could convert to a place for the kids to play in when they get older. They created storage closets and areas for us that gave us more than enough room and built in custom shelves in the wall for a nice display area. The project was finished on time and they kept us up to date on the various stages of completion so that we were happy the whole way through. We later hired them to build custom closets in our master bedroom. My husband and I told them what our "musts" were ( I wanted shelves, my husband wanted hanging space) and they took our needs and made us very fuctional areas that we both love. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable contractor that goes out of the their way to make sure their customers keep coming back.

Angler Carpentry did an amazing job building a screened-in porch over our deck. Mike Smith is the consummate professional. He worked with us on the design, making sure he built exactly what we wanted. He helped with all permitting, and made sure each inspection passed with flying colors. Mike's attention to detail is very impressive. Every person that has seen our new porch is struck by the quality work that Mike and his team performed.
