I recently hired ' Before and After Builders, Inc. ' to do exterior work on my older home. After numerous estimates and meeting with other construction companies, I decide to go with this company. Skip and his team of professionals worked on my home for a year. It is a total update and renovation. The entire work crew was professional, courteous and willing to answer any questions or concerns. 4 bathrooms were totally gutted, electrical, plumbing, painting, cabinetry, fixtures, new brick flooring, and hardwood floors were refinished downstairs. I’m a widow and just needed to find the right contractor and Skip answered that prayer. I couldn’t be happier. My home is beautiful. We had a large remodel project that Skip's team completed in 2021. We loved the product and workmanship so much, we used Skip again for construction of an all season sunroom in 2023. He helped us come up with a fantastic end product! Whenever we wanted to make a minor change or add something not in the original plan, he never "nickel and dimed" extra costs to do so. His crews were experts at their crafts, honest, reliable, and a pleasure seeing them come to the job site every day. They always cleaned up after every workday. On several occasions, Skip didn't like the way something looked as originally envisioned so he would make the change for the better at no additional cost or delay. We have been in the same home for the last 20 years, and it was in need of a remodel. This was a major project including three full bathrooms, kitchen, hearth room and all windows in the house. We had a very thorough interview process with a long list of detailed questions and discussed this project with several contractors. Skip Collins, the owner of Before and After Builders was interviewed and was able to answer every question we posed in extremely detailed fashion. In addition to seeing a long history of his Before and After project results, we were satisfied with his description on how the job would be managed. We appreciated the attention to detail, the time invested with us and the plan he set forth to complete the project. Aside from the obvious considerations of being licensed and insured, the top considerations for hiring a contractor that were important to us are: 1. Is the contractor capable, and does he have a capable team at his disposal to complete the work? 2. Does he have a clear plan outlined on how he will accomplish this? 3. Will he be on site on a regular basis supervising the work, ensuring it is done properly? 4. Does he have a strong network of suppliers that he works with to acquire the materials we need at a reasonable price? 5. Is he willing to get the proper permits? 6. Does he have strong communication skills? 7. Is he going to protect the rest of your house from the mess spilling over? 8. Is this person and his crew trustworthy? These considerations are just table stakes to earn business. Skip and his team met or exceeded expectations for all of these items. The work was performed on time, slightly ahead of the timeline that was outlined day 1 of the project kickoff. He has strong demand for his service from other clients, so he was not able to start as early as we would have liked, but this was understood in the beginning. After starting, they were working every day. This job was a priority. No sick dogs, truck broke down, etc. Skip and his guys show up. They were honest and trustworthy. We were completely comfortable with his crew in our home even when not home, and prior to this, we never allowed any workers over when we are not home. They did what they said they would do. The communication was excellent. In addition to a well communicated plan, the progress and addressing minor issues was very good. There were some minor hiccups along the way as would be expected in a project this size, but all were addressed, and no excuses were ever given. They executed the plan of the designer and also provided great ideas and insight from their many years of experience. The quality of the work of the work was exceptional. The results look great, but I am also confident in the workmanship beyond the aesthetic appeal. I’m limited to 3000 characters, so I can’t include all the great things, but will say I strongly recommend Skip and Before and After Builders. We already are asking him to quote another project.

Skip and his crew were amazing partners in our bathroom renovation! They had recently installed interior French doors for an office and rearranged our laundry room, so we felt confident they'd do superb work in our bathroom as well. Their work is pristine-- tile-work, trim, cabinetry, top to bottom. They took such time and care with each element. The floors alone are an embarrassment of riches: radiant heat topped with wood-look tile in a truly gorgeous herringbone pattern. Skip's crew of Agustin, Miguel, and Travis made sure every piece was placed perfectly; they were also warm, pleasant, and patient with our chaotic household while they worked. I work from home, our elementary-age kiddo and mischievous pets were frequently running amok, yet the Before & After dream team was calm, cordial, and had an excellent sense of humor about bratty cats visiting their workspace. I could always feel confident that, whether we had to be out of the house or I needed to be on a work call-- even when we had to quarantine ourselves in a bout of covid-- they had everything handled. Skip is a true master at what he does: he was the perfect companion when we shopped for fixtures, tile, and countertops, simplifying our choices so we never spiraled into indecision the way we'd have done on our own. He listened carefully to what we wanted, guided us through examples of similar projects, and helped us articulate our preferences. I really appreciated that he made sure the results truly suited us, but we also felt like his most amazing skill was being calm and unruffled, buffering us from any bumps in the process. Skip and his associate Rich regularly checked in on-site, kept us updated on major deliveries, and addressed any of our concerns or questions. It was a remarkably smooth process, and the results are better than we could've imagined.

Before and After Builders are the absolute BEST home contractor. Skip and his crews go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy with each step of a project. After they recently completed a project for us I could never think about having anyone but Before and After Builders to remodel and update our home. They made sure we were totally satisfied. I was very fortunate to find Before and After. I wanted to have a wall removed between my kitchen and family room to open up the space. I had been told that it could not be done. I talked to several other contractors and it was something about the personality of this guy that sold me. Skip and his crew did an outstanding job on my kitchen. If you did not see the before you would never know it was the same kitchen. The transformation is beautiful and just what I wanted. Skip not only help me with some unusual recommendations, he took me shopping and I got to pick out special things that were unique to my specific taste. Not only is he experience in his line of work, but he has very eloquent taste. He makes suggestion and matches things to perfection. He really has the patience of Job. No matter what goes wrong, he is there going above and beyond to make it right. He has an eye to catch the little things to do what I call beautifying. He took my old kitchen and made it look like a million dollars. He is a wonderful person to work with and he has an excellent crew doing the work. If I had to do it again, I would not change a thing. We have used this company for more than 6 years. Everything from a large kitchen update, to fixing massive damage as a result of a water heater leak that destroyed the entire bottom floor of our house. Skip @Before and After Builders treated us like family. Seriously! He and his team were really good at following up so as to ensure we were never left in the dark. After many conversations Tony and I decided we want an “age in place” master bathroom. We looked at remodels here in our neighborhood and very impressed with them. The master Bath project exceeded my expectations. I could no be more pleased. Features i didnt even expect put the project over the top. It is hard to pick one favorite feature as they are all great but if i had to the lighting is incredible and current!

We needed to create a guest suite in our home and Skip came highly recommended. He responded quickly and came to our home to gather measurements/details to create a detailed quote. He then returned about a week later to go over every detail of his quote. His attention to detail, thoroughness and honesty about expectations had us confident that we could trust him to get the job done. Skip and his crew were professional, polite, and most importantly efficient! We were promised a completed project within an 8 week timeline, but the crew actually finished early. Skip took the time to listen to our desires and do what he could to work around our budget-- something that was very important to us! I would give 10 stars if that was possible. Skip and crew "updated" my upstairs bathroom. What that means is that they took it all the way down to the studs, added 3 feet to the footprint of the bathroom from an adjoining bedroom, and completely built it back to absolute perfection. I had a 5' x 8' 1962 sage green bathroom with cracked tiles and a small ill-fitting vanity that protruded from the wall so much that I couldn't brush my teeth with the door open. What I got in return was a lovely, well constructed bathroom complete with a gorgeous octagonal tub, precise herringbone tile on the walls, and flooring with a beautiful pattern inside the larger tiles. Grab bars were installed to assist me in getting in and out of the beautiful, high tub with no problem. The vanity and linen cabinet were professionally built to the exact specifications. Crown molding was installed along with beautiful lighting including a chandelier, and the best paint job I have ever seen. Skip took me on shopping sprees at Ferguson and BPI to pick out every fixture and tile just like I envisioned. But, I must say, the shining star in this job was the crew--they have got to be one of the best teams of skilled professionals ever assembled. Brandon and the guys took care of every detail and made sure everything was precise and just the way I wanted it (it is still a mystery to me how five men got that gigantic, beautiful tub up the stairs and in place). I have asthma--they zippered the doors, had lots of Visqueen encasing all the door openings, covered my furniture and the vents so that dust was not an issue for me during the entire process. Brandon and these young men were courteous, conscientious, and helpful, and they worked six days a week. I had a sunroom and porch added to the back of my house five years ago by another contractor--the quality of that job, in no way, compares to this one. I would recommend Skip and Before and After Builders for anyone who is looking for the best quality service, workmanship, follow-up, and satisfaction with the job. I have even had other recent service needs (like routine annual inspection of my heating and air as well as an electrical problem in my kitchen) and Skip referred professionals who contacted me immediately and did the work I needed timely. Skip and crew are scheduled to remodel my downstairs bathroom in the new year. I am looking forward to working with them again.

Skip and his team did a no -demo Reno of our kitchen and family room. Although we did not remove any walls, we gutted the rooms including floors, cabinetry, countertops, appliances, and lighting. Skip assisted us in each phase of the process from design to material selection. The team showed up to work six days a week. Skip came by at least four times a week. The team did everything they could to keep our project on track; unfortunately, we did have a six week delay because of the cabinets. So the total time for our project was four months. Two things I was most impressed with : (1) the professionalism and the consideration the team showed our family, including the dog; and (2) Skip’s response to any unforeseen problems was always solution-based and not blame-based, We are already in talks to complete other small renovations as well as our master bathroom renovation. Before and after Builders exceeded our expectations!

Skip managed the project from start to finish. He was here nearly every day to make sure things were being done correctly. His crews were topnotch. They were professional, courteous and meticulous. They showed up every day, until the job was finished. We bought this job because of Skip, and he did not disappoint. We will definitely have them back on our next job.

Before and After Builders were very professional and helpful in producing a beautiful and luxurious master bath. We now have a spacious shower and abundance of storage space to enjoy.

I recently had my master bathroom remodeled. Skip was very professional in providing me with multiple quotes to see what best suited my needs. Once I decided on what I wanted to do, he helped me pick tile, flooring, faucets...everything I needed for the bathroom (even things I didn't even think of). Once we got started his team was very prompt and worked 6 days a week. During the remodel, I also decided to add the master bedroom wall painting and ceiling scraping. Adding that on was no trouble either. This bathroom remodel is actually the 5th job that Skip and his team completed (the bathroom was by far the largest). The other jobs that Skip completed: laminate flooring, kitchen counter top replacement, kitchen light fixture replacement and window replacement.

I keep walking into our “new” bathroom and each time I am loving it more-especially my warm floors. It took me a while to decide on which contractor to choose to complete our renovations, but after much thought, interviewing various contractors, and then reviewing Skip’s work and his reviews, I decided to go with Before and After Builders and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Skip and his team completed a demo / re-build of my back porch and a complete re-shingle of my roof. I chose Before & After because Skip showed up when he said he would, did what he said he would, and provided a complete and transparent job estimate. Mother Nature surprised his crew with a surprise rain downpour while the shingles were off that led to some interior damage, but Skip and team bent over backwards to make it right (even threw in a few upgrades to account for the inconvenience) without any nagging or threats. Before & After is 100% committed to customer satisfaction. As soon as I handed Skip the final payment for this job, I put my name on the list for his next job for me - a master shower re-do!

Skip Collins has been our go-to contractor for over 10 years with projects in 3 of our houses and 3 of our children’s houses. Our latest project was a kitchen renovation with 4 goals: lower the microwave height, update the cooking appliances, make the island larger, and brighten the space. All accomplished in 3 weeks! The only delay we encountered was for 8 kitchen pulls which is still a win considering how long some are waiting for supplies. This is our third reno project with Skip and his crew. Added on to the great room, which included removing popcorn and repairing the vaunted ceiling and adding a twin built in to match one Skip previously installed, and painting the entire space. We loved the new tile so much Skip’s crew demoed the old and installed new throughout. New enlarged patio and pergola, including much needed roof repairs make for great outdoor living space. These workmen are aces: Brandon, Eddie, Josh, and Robert. They are practically family, they’ve done so much beautiful quality work on our home. I can't say enough good things about Before and After Builders. I would probably say that one of the most important things is that Skip always did exactly as he said he would. Starting with when the Job would start, when it would be completed, and everything in between. His excellent team of workers, headed up by Brandon, showed up every day no matter what, and even worked weekends to finish on time to accommodate our travel schedule. It has been almost a month since the project has been completed and we still find ourselves going into the kitchen to admire its design, beauty, features, and space. Having a work crew in your home for almost 3 months during a pandemic may seem scary, but the guys were respectful or our space and cleanliness. We stayed in the house during the project. The guys kept the house as clean as one possibly could while tearing down walls and scraping off popcorn ceilings. We have new floors throughout the first floor of our house, an entirely new kitchen with cabinets to the ceiling and countertops that provide three times more space than I had before. From design, to demo, rebuild, paint, and installations, everything was completed to perfection. Any question I had was answered. Any concern was resolved beyond the asking. We are looking forward to future projects with Before and After Builders!

We interviewed five Contracting businesses and chose to use Skip Collins of Before and After Builders because of the trust and confidence we had with him after meeting with him. He was very personable, but also very honest about what would and wouldn't work for our small Master Bath renovation. This included removing the thirty year old Jacuzzi tub and separate shower, including so many steps that we hadn't considered to accomplish a first rate job. We had a large shower with many upgrades created in the space of the bathtub and a storage closet made from the shower with a slight enlargement of a clothes closet with a portion of the shower. We had a Father/Son team who did the physical work with Skip coming by to check on the progress and quality of their work on a regular basis. These gentlemen were also a pleasure to do business with and showed up every day to complete the project. We are very happy with the results and felt that the cost was fair and reasonable. We are so pleased with the outcome and will definitely call Skip again for any future work.

We could not be happier that we chose Before and After for a complete teardown of our bathroom & remodel adjoining hall and front entry. Skip completed a full remodel of a 1982 townhome. After having a horrible experience with a different remodel a few years ago, I did an exhausting amount of research on 70 contractors. I picked Before and After Builders after touring and speaking with the owners of 2 full remodels done by Skip as well as another owner that Skip did extensive work for. The key takeaways: 1.) Before and after builders are easy to work with 2.) Skip's bids are the most detailed you'll see 3.) Skip is worth every penny 4.) I'll use Before and After Builders again. 5.) This is a follow up review to a bath remodel Skip did 2 years ago. The white marble pieces in the trim around the shower started to discolor to a dirty brown. Skip discovered this was a problem with the marble itself, that it was reacting to the water in the shower. I bought new trim, in glass this time, and Skip tore out the old and put the new tile in, at no charge to me. I'm very happy with the result, and we will definitely use Skip for our next bath remodel.

I have renovated three houses and worked with numerous contractors. Before and After Builders was the easiest to work with, paid the most attention to detail, and proved the most trustworthy. My husband had a back injury and can no longer stand up. We had to turn a bathroom into a place where he could get into and out of a shower while sitting in a wheelchair, take care of his own laundry, and transfer to and from the toilet. This involved more than an ordinary remodel. I sent Skip the requirements and measurements necessary for my husband to access all parts of the bathroom. Not only were all the requirements met or exceeded, but Skip included things I never would have considered. For example, we had the door to the bedroom widened to accommodate the wheelchair. This caused the door to swing wider into the hallway and would have obstructed the pathway into and out of the house. The door could not have been left open. Skip and his crew brought this to my attention and showed me how French doors would solve the problem. I am so glad because the French doors have made it easier on my husband and avoided the frustration the other door would have caused. This is just one of the details and design considerations that were changed for the better because Skip knows his remodeling. Together we designed the perfect wheelchair accessible bathroom without the help of an interior decorator. In fact, friends have remarked about how the design added to the value and desirability of the house rather than detracting from it, which might have been the result of a less thoughtful design. I also appreciated that Skip came by the house to check on progress every day. If I had any concerns, he addressed them. He even paid attention to the smallest details that I had not considered. Skip and his staff did a wonderful job remodeling our master bathroom and office. Took room from office to add an additional closet and larger shower in master bathroom. We absolutely love the body jets, shower bench, and total design of the new shower. Custom cabinets were designed to match our needs with loads of storage. Skip even adjusted the shower head and vanity height to suit my tall husband. It was a good decision to let Before and After Builders to remodel our kitchen. Skip was very nice and had so much patience with the process of picking colors, counter tops, cabinet and appliances. The whole crew who actually did the remodeling process were all very nice people and worked professionally on the site. It took a bit longer than we expected which was about 11 weeks because of the bad weather and holidays, but it’s all worth the wait because all the work they’ve done is top of the line!! One sugestion : i think they should have a daily notification of what kind of work will be done each day so that customer knows what to expect and can plan their days better. We had a big jetted tub we wanted replaced with a walk in shower and the old stand up shower converted to a cabinet... I searched and got 4 total estimates looking for the right fit. My wife and I were looking for a contractor/builder to remodel our master bath. We were very hesitant and Skip put us at ease the first time we met him. He listened to us describe what we were looking for in a builder and in the design of the bathroom. He has excellent skills at visualizing design elements and describing them. Remodeling our kitchen with Before and After Builders has been a blast. Skip Collins and his crew did a great job and seemed devoted to reaching our goals for the kitchen. We hired Before and After Builders for an upstairs bathroom, as well as new windows for our house, and it was such a positive experience! We didn't have any renovation experience prior to this, so we had no clue what to expect. We have an older home (1940s) and remodeled our only full bathroom. Because of our older home, circumstances and repairs arose that needed to be addressed seriously. They were careful in making sure exposed wires were handled, plumbing was correct, our water heater was safe (needed to replace due to rusting), and parts of the rotting floor were replaced. Not only is our bathroom absolutely beautiful and exactly as I had dreamed it to be, our home is now a safer place because Before & After Builders is a responsible company that doesn't cut corners but does the job right. Before and After Builders did extensive remodeling in our home. They knocked down and replaced walls to make the kitchen bigger, installed custom cabinets, appliances and flooring. Skip was recommended by my dad when I bought my first house last year. Before and After Builders have responded promptly to my inquiries ; I appreciate knowing I get a thorough explanation of what is wrong, what is required to repair it and the work completed well. They have repaired my gutters, including some exterior water damage caused by gutter back up. My roof has been repaired as well as my attic after I had critters. I have had estimates for a french drain in my yard and hard wood flooring in my interior.

would definitely use skip again for any remodel project. from start (browsing through idea books, shopping for the exact materials to the installation of backsplash) to finish he was accessible and kept informed. there were no big surprises and the project was completed as scheduled and within budget, except for my add-ons. he was here once a day and most days twice. the crew was easy to work with and arrived on time and at the end of each day the site was left neat. pleased with the kitchen and den results. it is not the same 70's avocado kitchen--now to the outdated bathrooms.
