Regarding Mr. Strickland’s project, his signed proposal included installing two shower valves and heads. Mr. Strickland told our plumber to go ahead and add three shower jets, without talking to our project manager nor our office. Adding shower jets requires additional valves and heads, which requires more labor and materials. When we invoiced Mr. Strickland regarding this additional work that was outside the scope of his project, he was upset and spoke to the owner. On June 10, 2025, we emailed Mr. Strickland a credit memo showing the work’s worth of $499 and a customer discount of $499. The “$600 of additional plumbing” is a made-up number that we do not have record of, nor did he pay. In our effort to provide excellent customer service, we did this work for free and sent him proof of that work being done for free.
At the end of every project, we run an audit of materials and waste disposal. Our project manager informed Mr. Strickland of this at his final walkthrough. Regarding the additional waste disposal fee of $200, we had originally estimated that his project would require three large trash hauls with each large trash haul costing $200 per trip. We do not make a profit on trash hauls. Trash hauls require time, gas costs, and the fees for disposing of trash at the landfill. Due to the increase of scope for his project, we made four trash hauls. Thus, we sent him an invoice to cover the cost of the additional trash haul.
We are not sure what Mr. Strickland is referring to when he mentions “$1,200 for sloping the shower pan.” None of his invoices show a charge to him for $1,200 nor for us “sloping the shower pan.”
While we are happy that Mr. Strickland is satisfied with the final product, we have proof that all of his negative claims are incorrect.
