In the process of selling our NC mountain home water damage in a small area was discovered. We were fortunate to know and engage Kevin Reed. After carefully evaluating the problem he recommended a deatailed solution advising against a quick fix. He then put a full time associate on the job which was completed in a very reasonable amount of time. The house is now back on the market. If I were to build a new home I would hire Kevin without hesitation.

April 2018- Just finished a total kitchen renovation with Kevin and his team. We are so happy with the results. Kevin did an amazing job of keeping to his timeline and quality of work (and subcontractors) far superior to another experience we had in the past doing a kitchen renovation in another state. He suggested a phenomenal kitchen designer - Trish Klein at Advance Cabinetry who we used. Also his other recommendations for countertop fabricators were good as well. Mar 2017 Kevin and his team have renovated our home: i.e. removed built-in cabinets for replacement with windows with smaller scale built-in cabinets, renovated the shower and heated floor system of a master bath, fixed significant water damage requiring rebuilding a portion of the roof and exterior walls, added a door. Project used both his carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and tilers Care was taken during the demolition to protect our house and enabled us to reuse a whirlpool tub, toilet, and the original built-ins. Kevin thinks through situations before they arise and finds good solutions. He/his team look for the root cause of the problem (water damage) so it's solved vs a cosmetic fix. Kevin works with us to ensure we are happy with the result and willing to accommodate real-time changes in plans. All his carpenters and subcontractors are knowledgeable and take pride in their work. Kevin and his team are reliable and trustworthy enabling some work to be done while we were gone for several weeks. Kevin is responsive both during the bid process and when work is being done. We are very pleased with the results and are looking forward to working with him again.

We have been very pleased with the home Kevin built for us and enjoyed working with him during the entire process. We had several special requests to keep the VOC’s as low as possible and he was very receptive in meeting our requests. We were extremely happy with the quality of the construction from the beginning to the end and appreciated his attention to detail. My wife and I have built 3 custom homes and several commercial buildings. Kevin was by far the best contractor/builder we've used. He walked us through each step of the process, and scheduled routine meetings on site to review construction, options, and cost (our final cost came within 1% of the original budget). After completion, the few issues we had, Kevin took care of promptly and professionally.

Kevin and team did a fabulous job on finishing our home we bought, which wasn't completely finished yet. He understood our creative eye when we wanted to add a few arches to existing door ways and then tie the lower level in with the look of the main level. He gave us a budget for our remodel and stuck to it which was appreciated. The other contractors he knew and brought in for stone work and custom metal work were excellent. I would definitely build another home with Kevin. We love our new home.

My husband and I hired Kevin Reed to build our dream house in 2016. We had heard so many horror stories about building a house, but honestly it was a terrific experience. We can't say enough about how easy it was to work with Kevin and Frank (project mgr). We certainly hit some bumps here and there as expected, but solutions were discussed and worked through with efficiency. Knowing and understanding how things were designed, even behind the walls, and seeing the process has given us tremendous confidence in our home. If we ever build again Kevin will be the first person we will call without a doubt.

When we built our home, I got what I then thought was the perfect studio for my art (watercolors and oils.) And it was. A few years later, however, I discovered soft (chalk) pastels. They are extremely messy and it became abundantly clear that I needed another separate studio to work in. I wanted the space to look like the inside of an old wooden boat house. I needed ample room for my large upright easels, pastel tables, and work surfaces. I also required a specialized hanging-system, powerful task-lighting, and easy-to-clean floors. Kevin Reed delivered a fair quote, worked professionally, and created the "perfect pastel studio" for me...on budget, and on time. It is a truly magical place. It "works"! More recently, Kevin built a permanent wooden dog-gate across our entry foyer. We adopted an adult German Shepherd who does not like our cats. This gate is beautiful, solid, and (literally) a life-saver. It wasn't a big project...but, it was important for us to have it done right. We trust Kevin Reed, of BlueStone Construction, to do the best.

When we moved to this area in July 2000 from the Dallas area, we pursued only existing homes but found nothing that suited our needs. When we decided that our only alternative was to build again and being somewhat new to the area, we were very fortunate to be introduced to Kevin Reed. He in turn introduced us to an architect and together they fulfilled our every need. We could not have asked for a better experience with a builder. Kevin is extremely conscientious, and a man of honesty and integrity with infinite patience. We were lucky to have Kevin as our builder and would choose him again if the need arose.

Kenvin Reed built my home in a remote area in the mountains of North Carolina . He is an old world craftsman and my home shows his building skills. I asked Kevin to build me a house that my grandchildren and great grandchildren would be proud of and he did! I have a lot of woodwork in the home and it is all done beautifully. Kevin's attention to detail has made the house particularly special. He was very easy to work with and a careful listener. He was mindful of my budget,but willing to tell me when and why he thought I needed to include certain features. The home has great bones and will be a joy to my family long after Kevin and I are gone!

Bluestone Construction was selected to renovate our 50-year-old lake cottage and boathouse (new construction) because the architect involved with the project told us he was talented, wise, competent and honest. Eight years later I can say that the choice of Kevin Reed of Bluestone Construction to manage the extensive renovation and addition was the wisest decision of the project. More than a supervisor, Kevin Reed is knowledgeable about the skill of installation and material selection. His interaction with other workers on the project, from tradesmen to craftsmen to designers created an environment that inspired everyone to give their best. Mr. Reed worked collaboratively with others, listening to suggestions and offering advice as the work required. When appropriate, he would seek advice from an engineer or other professionals. The cottage is small, and his attention to the details involved in joining wood with stone, beam realignment, window installation, and selection of materials remain noticed by visitors, maintenance people, and other professionals who have come. And, I will add that he has never failed in the years since to come to my assistance to solve the problems that arise in the changing use and maintenance of the cottage.

We lost the entire front side of our house in NC due to shoddy workmanship by the builder. Kevin thoroughly inspected the damage, explained what needed to be done and gave us a price. We were very impressed with the work he had done for our neighbor (my best friend from Winter Park, Fl) and gave him the job without getting a competative bid. The job was extensive but Kevin finished it, actually ahead of schedule, and even tho we asked for a couple of added things, he came is at exactly the cost he had given us originally. Plus when we walked in to inspect the finished work the entire house was spotless and we have never had any problems with any of the work. We have recommended Kevin to many of our friends at Champion Hills and will continue to do so!! He's the best. I am sure Kevin has photos and he is authorized to use them for any purpose.
