We had a fun and rewarding experience throughout the design and build of our custom home. The Builtwright 'family' is trustworthy, professional, experienced, technically competent and customer focused. They have developed and adhere to a home construction process which provides well managed, predictable and transparent project development in terms of schedule, cost and quality of construction. As this was our first experience with custom home construction... we provided more enthusiasm than experience... we relied heavily on Andy and Nate to offer ideas and solutions, to rein us in as needed while allowing us to 'run a bit' at times, in order to achieve the home we envisioned. The balance they stuck was perfect and we could not be happier with the result. The other critical component of the Builtwright Company is that provided by Erica with her meticulous management of budget, schedule status and detail along with exceptional customer communication. Needles to say, we feel fortunate to have our home constructed by Builtwright.

Andy Gardner saw a vision for our house placement that we never thought about and no other builders we interviewed considered. Our lot was already excavated, so we assumed that is where our house should be placed. He pointed out a couple of issues with the current location and the advantages of repositioning the house. In doing so, it changed and opened up the view of the mountains and reduced the cost of a long driveway. We are so happy Andy suggested putting the house where it sits today. Andy, Bryan and the whole team were great to work with and really cared about the quality, and our requirements for our dream home. They were able to stay on schedule within just a few weeks and we were in our home in 10 months. We highly recommend the Builtwright team and have already done so with two couples now planning to use Andy and team to build in our development. Builtwright CC completed my home recently, and simply did a great job. They have a wonderful staff that paid attention to the small things, asked me questions when appropriate, and took initiative when necessary. My job was no small order as I am an architect and my expectations are very high.. They just did great. Andy, Nate and the Builtwright team did an exceptional job from day one! They worked with us on the renovation and an addition on our 91 year old home. The team consistently went above and beyond to solve the problems an older home presents and delivered a beautiful result! Communication was clear and consistent throughout the project which was especially important as we were still living in a portion of the house while the crews were here working. The level of craftsmanship perfectly reflected the quality seen in an older Craftsman style home, so that you cannot easily tell where the old house and the newly added master suite merged into our perfect home!

Andy, Nate and the staff of Builtwright were deeply knowledgeable of every aspect of the design and build process, and provided priceless advice in navigating the construction of our house, explaining every aspect of the build to 6 decimal places. Builtwright organized the building of a complex, multi-faceted design in record time, with top-notch construction with a firm and fixed budget, and a firm and fixed move-in date. They have a superb relationship with subcontractors who have cheerfully worked weekends to keep on schedule. They created budgets that are exact to the penny, and have an organized, on-line process for managing the design process that makes complex decisions simple. I trust Andy, Nate and Builtwright completely, and value their opinion and advice above all others who helped design and build our house.

Andrew started our bidding process with potential and promise, but ended up acting bizarrely territorial over painters and electricians hanging ceiling fans in our house weeks before he was even supposed to start work. He sent our deposit check back and sent this super unprofessional letter to me, subject line “Agreement Termination”. Relieved to find out before our project started what we were dealing with, but so disappointed in the months of wasted time invested in this “relationship”. I’ve included the letter he sent me, and my response for complete transparency. I hope he learns from this, because I don’t leave negative reviews easily.

Builtwright was gored to complete the addition and tie in of approximately 1200 square feet of outdoor living space including a large masonry fireplace. The structure itself was a timber frame and extensive foundation and patio work was required. We also added a metal roof to the new and existing home. The finish painting was also part of the scope. I also added the replacement of our verandah flooring and hand rails to the scope. I have never been more pleased with the outcome of this job and working with Builtwright. They made this work for us and they understood our needs from the beginning. We had a few change orders which were reasonable and truly not issues we missed in the scope. The quality provided and the relationship developed were very important to me and I felt Builtwright exceeded my expectations. I have a third phase to this project and plan to work with them on it. It is great to have a GC you really trust.

I had interviewed about 8 contractors for my particular renovation. I had chosen to work with Builtwright because I felt they had the most knowledge working on difficult projects and seemed to care about understanding my needs and communicating well with my architect and designer. After starting the project many unexpected obstacles surfaced which Builtwright worked seamlessly with others on the team to find the best and most cost effective solutions. I always felt that they were watching my back throughout the project. Builtwright used subcontractors that were a pleasure to have working on the project and obviously took pride in their workmanship. Everything was accomplished to owner's (my) satisfaction. I would be happy to work with them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

My family could not be happier with Builtwright Construction. They did a complete historic rehabilitation of our 100-year-old home. It needed everything, i.e, new electrical to replace old knob and tube wiring, plumbing, roof, HVAC, window and door rehabilitation, wall and ceiling plaster and multiple structural repairs due to moisture intrusion, deferred maintenance, and unaddressed termite damage. They remodeled our three bathrooms, kitchen and office. Installed new tile, plumbing fixtures, appliances and custom made cabinetry. Because our home is a contributing structure in a National Register District, they did all of the work according to the Secretary of Interiors Standards. Their staff and subcontractors are very professional. They communicated well to set our expectations on timeline and budget. We did our project in three phases over three years. Builtwright hung in there with us throughout it all and did an amazing job. We wouldn't use anyone else.

We hired Builtwright Construction to oversee the renovation of a 3,000 sq. ft. space inside an old industrial building that we turned into a distillery. The work included but was not limited to; cutting and installing floor drains in a previously existing slab, replacing all electrical wiring and fixtures, new water and sewer lines, framing of interior space, insulation, drywall, painting, and exterior grading. As a commercial project, this was a departure from their comfort zone as a residential construction company. Not only did they step up to and complete the challenge, but they excelled in client/subcontractor relationships. Throughout the entire process there was clear communication about the work that was being and still needed to be done. Our foreman Nicholas, was able to schedule and complete work in a timely fashion. The job site was kept clean and safe throughout the project. Their quality of work and professionalism was very good. From the beginning they were clear with us that if we wanted to come in on or under budget, that we had to understand that it is often the last minute choices by the client (us) that adds cost. By presenting project choices in a clear, no B.S. manner, they helped us come in significantly under our projected project cost. I would recommend Builtwright Construction Company to anyone requiring an excellent project management company.

My wife and I were introduced to Builtwright in October of 2015 by our architect and hands down, hiring them to build our custom Timber frame home on the side of a mountain was the best decision we ever made. Andy and his team are "no BS" General Contractors- they tell it like it is and always had our best interests in mind. How many GC's would reject a site plan 6 times so that we wouldn't have to build a $50K retaining wall? The Builtwright team got it right and saved us fortune in site costs (not to mention that our house sits beautifully on our lot) with only a small boulder wall in the back. Our project manager Nate Monroe was a true ace and perfectionist (not to mention a joy to work with). Our new home turned out perfect- thanks Builtwright!
