Simply fantastic. California Building and Remodeling was recommended to us by a work colleague, and we couldn't have been happier with the job they did. Their price was competitive, and their quality was top-notch. We ended up doing a full remodel of our house, floors, walls, insulation, re-did all the electrical, new windows, roof, kitchen, bathrooms, the whole works. Their communication was clear, they were accurate with their estimates on cost and time, and they were genuinely fun to work with. Would hire them again in an instant, can't recommend strongly enough.

We just completed a master bathroom and kitchen remodel and highly recommend Phil and his team. Phil was a pleasure to work with and our site manager, Jerry, was fantastic. We felt that the entire crew was hard working and knowledgable. What was most impressive to me was how they treated us as valued customers throughout the project and truly listened to ideas and concerns. Because we felt we could trust them to have our best interest in mind, we could let go of some of the stress and worry that comes with remodeling. We are extremely pleased with the quality of work and plan on using them for other projects in the future.

California Building and Remodeling just finished our complete rebuild of our home in Pacific Beach. We started with a lot that had to be completely demolished and ended up with a 3200 sq ft beautiful home. We have now been through the building process twice (first with a different contractor) and this time the process was entirely more timely and stuck closer to the original bid. Phil handles more the business aspect of the construction and Rory supervises the project and ensures everything is done correctly. I cannot say enough positive things about Rory. Rory gave us so many great suggestions to make our home more functional and beautiful that were also cost effective. We interviewed many contractors and ultimately chose Phil on personal recommendations that said he was both timely and stuck to budget which was definitely true. Phil was extremely responsive if we had any questions regarding extra charges and communicative about anything that was not included in the original bid. Phil's subcontractors were all a pleasure to work with, professional and clean. As a surprise gift , he even trimmed our palm trees! I never hear people say they are happy with their builders but if we ever built again, I would go with Phil and Rory no question.

I would 100% recommend California Building and Remodeling for any project. We had a complete tear down and rebuild project in La Jolla, CA and Phil, Rory, and the rest of the team did an outstanding job. They were professional, clean, and the quality of work was outstanding. Our home is absolutely beautiful. We transformed a 2700 sq ft house into a 3990 sq ft house. With a project of this size there are so many things that could have gone wrong. Thankfully we chose the right contractor. Very easy to work with, great communication, great pricing, and great work. Not only is Phil great to work with but he hires the right people. The crew was always on time and always left the job site clean. They worked with the city marvelously on all permitting and inspections. If you are about to do any construction work I would highly recommend calling Phil with California Building and Remodeling.

Phil and his crew turned a 1950s 1,100 sf home into a 2,200 sf dream home plus garage apartment. Excellent craftsman. Great ideas and listened to our ideas. Connections to terrific suppliers and specialists. Friendly and accommodating. They exceeded our expectations.

First time home builder. Met Phil via our architect. Knocked down our 1200 sf home and CBR built our 2 story 3300 sf Spanish style home. Assisted in all phases of project. Started April and finished in November . Kept project on track. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Worked with us to stay on budget and get back into the house quickly. Biggest compliment, Phil kept his word and followed through on things he promised. That made all the difference.

Phil and his crew helped remodel our kitchen and family room. Throughout the process he had excellent communication, and was very willing to help make sure our project stayed on schedule. He has good connections with all types of subcontractors, so there was quick turn around with each phase of the project. We had a delay in working with a 3rd party flooring company that jeopardized completing our project on time, but Phil was able to get everyone coordinated when we were down to the wire to wrap everything up in time.

Phil and his team did a phenomenal job doing tenant improvements at my office space in Mission Valley. They did a build out including painting, carpet, replace ceiling tiles, and electrical improvements. I couldn't be happier with their work...they made an office in a 45 yr old building look brand new!

I highly recommend the California Building and Remodeling Company. We are VERY happy with their work all the way. I feel fortunate to have met Philip Geunther, the owner and founder of the company. He is quite skilled with people, and with coordinating teams of workers on a project. The contract was a reasonable price, in fact very inexpensive because he came often to check on the work and improved the work when needed by discussing the plan several times with his team to give us the maximum best result. I will call Phil in the future for other jobs with no hesitation because this has been an outstanding experience for my family. What did they do for us? My mother is close to age 95 and had a stroke, and is wheelchair bound. Phil and his team remodeled our old bathroom into a larger shower that is designed for wheelchairs. The shower is a "roll-in" shower compliant with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations. We are so happy!! Thank you Phil. I recommend their work for any ADA project. They know what they are doing.
