I have hired Mike Scott to work on several renovation projects and I couldn't be happier with the result. His work ethic is second to none, skill set a 10/10 and he is an endless source of ideas and innovation. I would highly recommend Mike and his crew.

Mike Scott took on the rebuilding of our two story back stairs when he was busy with other more important work. Unfortunately when opening up it became obvious that the stairs and supports had to be almost totally replaced due to Rot. Mike was just great at handling all aspects of this job. He gave all the professional courtesy, timeliness, expertise and finishing that he gives to full scale, large home building project. Thanks from a North Van Senior.

I have used Mike on 4 or 5 miscellaneous jobs in the last year, such as bathroom remodel, blockwall replacement, fence repair, stairs, etc. We have another bathroom remodel, interior work, and deck repair coming up soon for Mike.

Mike did a great job on our finishing work - installing baseboards and door casings - prior to selling our townhouse.

I was thrilled with the quality of work done by Mike at Cutting Edge Carpentry. Mike arrived at my place on time to give me a detailed, informative quote on the job I wanted completed (crown molding in my bathroom). Mike took the time to explain the various types/sizes of crown molding and even gave me a recommendation on the size he thought would look best in my bathroom. Once we coordinated a date for him to complete the job, he arrived that day early to set up his tools. He completed the job in a timely matter and cleaned up afterwards. He even helped me install a new doorknob in the bathroom which wasn't even part of our agreement and he didn't charge me extra. My bathroom looks amazing and I couldn't be happier. Mike was professional and extremely informative; his rate was also very reasonable. It is obvious he's very skilled and knowledgable in his profession. I would recommend Mike to anyone looking for a carpenter.

Overall I would definitely recommend these guys. Work Performed: 2nd floor Decking (Ceder Back yard), Rear Patio (Face lift) and Stairwell (interior) along with some retaining walls in the yard for landscaping and some minor cosmetic stain and painting (exterior and interior). The quality was top notch and performed on time. Additionally the service was flexible - some later hours were put in after I changed my mind mid-project on a couple of small points. Even with these changes the quote came in on budget at just a hair under 12k. Input from owner/operator Mike at the quoting stage was really helpful - he was able to explain the in and outs of the project and detail to me the work required in layman's terms. Knowledgeable and friendly, but most importantly honest and upfront - I was apprehensive at first to have the work done as it was a significant investment for me. I have heard horror stories of jobs being done by the bigger companies and projects coming in way over budget. It was nice to be able to have this done by a small local company instead of one of the big boys and at a competitive price. My Realtor told me that when I sell the house next summer my 12k investment should yield approx. a 25K return on the sale of the property - I'll take that any day of the week. I will be using these guys if there are any issues on the house I buy next year. Steve Golberg
